Thanks buddy, the project went well. I ended up buying a choke cable, but if you have a 5’ throttle cable with lever lying around, let me know, otherwise my low is high and high is low throttle will be fine…lol!

Love watching your vids, your enthusiasm is great!!!! I like to work on outboard motors, just rebuilt the fuel pump and carburetor on my Johnson 28 I’ve owned since 1992. Turned my water on to I’m in southeast Michigan keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn’t get too cold again.
In todays climate, ya never know. Truth be told, a week later I had to shut off my pipes again, as an overnight dip went below 27. I’m a total rookie when it comes to marine machines, I have no clue what to do.

Just to be safe, spray each exhaust pipe with water, if the water evaporates instantly then you know it firing on both cyclenders.

Hey Henry, the fuel filter is backwards. Good job on the conversion and touches on the deere.
Yeah I realized that, until it doesn’t run, it’s fine. I don’t fix things unless it’s broken. Fuels passes through the paper element and makes it to the carb is all I care about.
I know just ribbin ya, I think the prefilter goes on bottom too anyways that’s how my Briggs 21 vtwin is set up. Definitely a nice free I say freeeeeee money maker. Your welding is looking good I don’t know how to weld yet I have a flux core and looking to get the stick one like you use

3 observations: 1) this belongs in the top 5 of "Henry's Greatest Fixes." 2) i used that same shade of Rustoleum yellow to repaint wheel hubs on a rescued JD walk behind. Yeah, it's not actual JD Yellow but it is close enough and it has primer mixed in with the base coat .. so it was quick & painting is not my favorite thing to do. 3) Is not JD green one of the most testosterone appealing colors of all time? JD green is to colors what Mozart is to symphonies!

Hey Henry, One thing that you may consider regarding making up a choke cable would be one of the Arnold Universal cable kits like you see in the small engine aisles at like a TSC or other box stores which offers 60 inches of cable/inner wire and 3 different choices in handles. They are not very expensive for what you get in the kit and you can make the cable work for your machine.
Recently, I have began ordering the 1.5 mm stainless steel cable and while reusing the outer conduit because of a situation with a bail cable on a Cub Cadet wheeled string trimmer. I give Mick from MicksMowers kudos for that idea as well as a few motorcycle videos regarding cables.
Yeah I’ve seen that video. I’d rather just find on to buy for cheap.
@@MowersNBlowers The situation that I got into with the Cub Cadet/MTD trimmer was that I actually ordered a OEM cable and the new cable that I received had the same exact part number as the original cable, But had been totally changed and would not work on my trimmer. So now, I make up my own battery cables as needed and looks like I am now learning the “Ins & Outs” of making my own cables.
I snapped some photos of the two cables side by side and they refunded my money because they were as baffled as I was. Sometimes there’s no easy fix, So you have to do what you got to do.
Oh, By the way Henry,,I really love how your John Deere Zero turn mower turned out., I have a 21hp Intek engine on a MTD garden tractor and I have ran the 💩💩💩 out of it. Those John Deere mower decks are problematic for rotting out if not cared for as well as the cracking welds which you have a definite answer for. The older 38 inch JD mower decks were problematic for the double stack pulley arm seizing up on the shaft.
What about the bottom of the deck and blades?
