Grate video Henry
I love this project! Very entertaining! I’m hoping that you don’t give up on it because it looks so nice and you’ve put in a lot of effort so far.
At about the 22:22 mark you could see sparks or something fly out of the right side when you engaged the PTO lever. The JD should be easy to sell!👍😎🇺🇸
Some heavy tapping when you start it (~23:00 range). Could be the valves but sounds too heavy. Maybe the connecting rod bent? Can't quite tell.
Connecting Rod bent? I’ve never seen one, either it breaks or it doesn’t. I’ve seen bent push rods.
" it doesn't have any gas in it.. Mmmmm uh"..... LMAO
It sounds like an ignition problem to me, usually popping, backfiring and loss of power when warmed up points to ignition. Hope that’s all it is, anyway!
Keep the deck and use it or sell it as a hauler
we're is the girl 😁
Holding the camera duh!
Usually what causes what it's doing, is... Remember.... If the carb has the curved fuel inlet, as compaired to straight in..... Made for a smaller engine.....but that maybe just briggs, Check the valves.... Bad safety switch keeps cutting in, and out...... Since it ran dry, you might want to check, and clean the carb.
Not liking the drive pulley bolt solution. Wouldn't want someone to "fix" mine that way so I probably wouldn't have gone the same direction with that.
Rule of thumb with bolts- is it standard or metric and fine or course threads. You may regret “jamming” it in. Good luck with it.
@@philheese1728 Jamming it in is a lazy solution. It's literally screwing the next guy.
It’ll come right out and you can jam it back in.
How come I never see the chicks from the thumbnails in the video?
Who do you think is holding the camera?
@@MowersNBlowersa stand
@@MowersNBlowersLOL!😂
His wife is at work when you see them.
Change the carb to the right model use the commercial version not the residency version which is the carb you got
Stay tuned
Home depot is hiring woke
Dropped your wife off at the train station? Or Yellowstone "train station"?! Just kiddin Henry!
LOL!!! No Wyoming sign anywhere near here!
-Henry using a Motorcraft filter because 'it fits' may not be beneficial. The filter may not have anti-drainback, or may not flow oil as well as another. If you checked the type and it matches the Kohler specs, never mind. I did think it possible the filter might constrict oil flow and allow the hydraulic lifters to bleed down slowly as the engine ran, causing the intermittent poor running you encountered. I have 2 CV singles, and one has noisy lifters at lower rpm, while the other does not. It seems they are kind of noisy at full rpms, but I can't really tell. Anyway, the filter may cause problems, FWIW. tom
I’ve had some people tell me the motorcraft ones are made for lawn tractor engines and they’ve used them for years
@@MowersNBlowers If the Motorcraft is compatible, it should show up in a cross reference. Personally, I do not use Kohler branded filters, and have used the 'house brand' from auto parts stores IF they are matched in a cross-reference. If the MC filter crosses, then you should be fine. One of these blocks was damaged and may have had some 'stuff' in the oil pump. Did you happen to disassemble that to be sure it was not getting jammed/clogged with particulates? good luck. tom
@@GrumpyUnkMillions I rarely change the oil filter since I flip them
do u need crank shaft bolt?
i think i got one...... id send it to ya if u want it
Appreciate it brother! But I used the Home Depot one. It works
