    Absolutely loved both tutorials. Such artistry.
    I think I might have gone a slightly different way in that I think I might have gone a bit more Gustavian and rubbed a little golden wax into the raised elements. I think it could have taken it well.
    You have made me think of refinishing a rather tired dining table, chairs and sideboard with paint and applied woodubend scrolls etc to give it a whole new look. My only issue is would Gustavian style work with Regency antiques. We have collected a fair few regency and regency style antiques and while Gustavian is based on the French Empire style, I don’t want it to not work. Any advice would be gratefully received
    I’m so a subscriber, you are a great tutor explaining in detail your thoughts and techniques.

    I love the technique. I love olive on some painted furniture; but, i think it makes a curvy, franchie piece look too masculine. It was very light and airy. I like it and have to learn to appreciate masculine colors on a feminine piece. Thanks for challenging our paint color prejudices.

    WOW. I value this video as a tutorial for 2 pieces I acquired that demand a stone finish. One is a table base, a quality reproduction of the capital portion of a corinthium column. I mean to use it in my garden if I can verify it will survive the weather. It is too hefty to move in and out of winter storage. For an idea of dimension, a kindly neighbor gifted me a 32 inch square of tempered glass which is the perfect size to use as table top. The capital needs a good scrub and a pristine paint job. The other is a jumbo plastic urn shaped in imitation of a stone urn. The faux effect on that is not convincing and could be much improved.

    Totally and completely stunning piece! I love the circle detail you created with the WoodUbend moulds. Quick question though, could you tell me what brush you were using when applying your texture? I know it was a flat natural bristle brush but it almost looked somewhat oval as well. I could use one like it, if you don’t mind sharing if it was a specific brand. Thank you, and as always, beautiful work!

    • @JonathonMarcMendesPaintedLove
      @JonathonMarcMendesPaintedLove  2 роки тому +1

      This is a good question the brush that I was using was a natural bristle brush and it was one of those cheapest brushes that you could pick up from the hardware store… to be fair you could use a natural bristle oval brush that would be fine the only reason that I’ve gone for the cheap flat brush is because all of the stippling does damage the bristles over time and I don’t use my expensive brush for that sort of treatment 😊
