Gorgeous!!! My favorite kind of reclamation (is that even a word?) is old world or layered chippy looks. You nail it every time. God's speed on your move. May everyone and everything make it here intact and without drama. That's a tall order, but if anyone can do it, it's you!❤
Borotalco finish was really enlightening! It recall me many years ago when moms put this scented powder on their little babies after bath, as mine did! And if you look deeply at this powder, you can see that is a little...pearly...traslucent. I can imagine the result! Brilliant! 👏👏👏
Beautiful! I love the soft look of it. Wishing you all the best in your moving process! Moving a household with kids and pets is a lot of work to navigate. We’ll be glad when you post content and understanding when you don’t.🌸
I love you chippy layered finishes! I’ve tried several an although probably not quite as good as yours I think they turned out good! Have to try sprinkling on the salt wash and rubbing in the talc! Thank you and wishing you safe travels back home❤️❤️❤️
Ugh... moving😔, I had to in January, it's very traumatic moving house ánd business, so I will pray for you.. I burned out, please take time to rest, it's not easy to come back from burnout. On your project: I am beyónd excited to see you can use talc on wax! I think it's a game changer... (I'm re-sealing a dresser today to get it thst smooth... I can't wait for the smell..!! it must be só good)🦋🇿🇦
I am drooling over this piece! It’s AMAZING!!! Seriously what else do you have in that endless creative bag of yours? Talc powder… talc power girl! When you started to add it I was like “oh no, she has lost her” and then I remembered in that second that I was watching you…a magical furniture magician and it was all good. You are amazing and such a fantastic teacher!!! This is my new favorite piece… until you make your next one I’m sure. You are so inspiring! Thank you for sharing your gift with all of us. Hope your move goes well. ❤️
@@christeljansenvanvuuren69 no judgement at all on what you said or didn’t say. I was just sharing with you that she really does have many wonderful techniques in many videos in case you hadn’t seen them. My comment wasn’t meant to be negative to you all, actually it was the opposite of that.
My Precious Crys’Dawna, This is Amazing and I Love it Soooooo Much!!!! Let me know when you are moved and settled so I can send you something…. So Proud of You My Friend, All My Love….. Your Friend, Marley Your
Hey CrysDawna!! This is fabulous and awesome. You taught you the talcum powder trick? Well it is a winner! I have missed your tutorials. Miss your face!! I vet you are so e cited to move into your new home in the most prettiest part of the east coast.
Thank you for this informative video. You didn't show the top - how smooth is it? Is it as coarse as the sides of the piece? If not, did you sand it? Did you seal the top with something besides wax and talc? I'm going to use your nice technique with old garden table, but I'm a bit concerned how to make the top smooth enough and protected enough. Could you please advise? What was the purpose of additional sprinkling with saltwash? Would the effect be the same if you add some more saltwash to the main mixture if you wanted more texture? Also you feature in the video description some Texture additive. I have watched the video several times and I didn't see if you used it. If you did - when and for what puprose? And last small question: what was the purpose of those first strokes of white paint mixed with saltwash, as you still covered the piece with paint-saltwash mixture right afterwards? I suppose the result would have been the same without this first step. And the last one )) Would this technique work with plain acrylic paints, not chalk paints? For my particular project I was thinking to use acrylic paints, as I think they would be a bit more durable after being exposed to the elements )) What do you think? Thank you a lot! P.S. Did you get to the US allright?
Well what a nice hack with the talc... Let be one of the first to welcome y'all home. I know you loved Germany 🇩🇪 but there's no place, good and bad, like the USA.
I really like your technique but would have preferred a more traditional colour on an old piece. One of the best videos I've watched on the subject though.
Christel, please go back and watch Crys’Dawna’s videos again. She teaches different techniques in each one of them. Just cause their chippy, grunge, etc… doesn’t mean they are the same. Many different looks if you look closer plus she is one of the kindest people I know online. Please go back and watch some of her older videos and you will see lots of different techniques. I hope this helps so you don’t miss out on great content. 😊
Who knew about the wax and the talc powder!?? Very cool!
