My favorite so far is 'Old Blue' by Clifton Hicks. The words are what got me. Almost made me cry the first time I heard it. If you've owned a dog, you'll understand. A little dark, but has some cool slides. :) I don't know if this link works. ua-cam.com/video/QxQRiBasKnQ/v-deo.html
@@AndyBartley-e3c I know his channel! I thought about joining his online thing for lessons before but I never did. Will have to check out that one but one song I remember trying to learn from him was 🤔 "Sourwood Mountain" I think
@@banjodaze I was trying to learn 'Boatmen' from him, but he tunes his banjo so low that I can't figure out how to match it. I'm starting to really like that old time music.
@@AndyBartley-e3c That is a frustration of mine as well! I don't wanna fuss too much with the tuning all the time because I have yet to master tuning to my voice/range in a way that works. He tunes way low and I love it but not matching for me.
Yup I watched this video 3 times now 😎💕 I kid you not I went immediately on the internet to buy a banjo after seeing you play LOL but I have learned to control my spontaneous urges. After looking up banjos that same day I looked up mandolins and the Indian sitar. It was a funny day 😂 The banjo belongs to banjodazeee ❤ and your smile and “ah” at the end is so cute, reminds me of me lol “wow going faster actually worked ahhh”
omg hi thank you for commenting 😭❤️. and haha i am glad you resisted the urge! right now i'm battling against buying a guitar w/ HH pickups (because i want to play more metal) so i feel you! (also mandolins and sitars are amazing so i definitely support the chaos if you end up going that route anyway😋)
@@banjodaze OF COURSE :D❤and yes to the guitar!! also I feel like it would be sooo cool to do metal renditions of popular songs on the banjo LOL like metallica or system of a down or something hahaha
@@aditixc bro. go look up some of rob scallon's old videos, he did some metal covers on banjo and it was glorious XD highly recommend watching haha i will add it to my one day to do list xD
You are doing fine. Try not to beat up on yourself...if banjo was easy, everyone would do it ;-) Relax and beat on the thing. Boil then Cabbage is a Favorite Tune. Keep doing it. (Do it until it makes ya sick and then, do it some more. BTW: (I like you and your banjo...so there's that;-))
that's what i'm trying to make myself do now, i think i get so caught up in doing it "right" that i forget the "hey wait, who cares as long as it feels good" part thank you for your comment! and reminder :)
if anyone ever watches this, what was your favorite easy song to learn as a beginner?? always love suggestions

Not a easy piece to play.
Don't worry about a proper way to play it just play whatever's natural to you. There are no rules. Music should be relaxing and fun. 🪕🎵
