    love your locs! I've been freeform for 4 years now and I love it. I have about 8-10 locs total, and they are about halfway down my back, shorter than yours. I can't wait to get your length :) Thank u for making this video.

    I really appreciate your honesty and insight regarding posting video content these many years into your loc journey. I agree that it does afford you the wisdom to speak on it. Also, I personally believe you are on point about not covering your locs at night because what I'm learning (about my own journey) is that is the time our hair needs to be free and thrive. The daytime is when we really do need protection from evil eye and all the negative energy. Thank you for keeping it real Hempresshill!! Im looking forward to more content.

      Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feelings. I regretted not doing this sooner but I now feel comfort in waiting to learn more. I love seeing the channels where people are growing with there audience. That is very special within itself. Have a beautiful day!

    Your are so well spoken and your voice is very relaxing. 👍🏼 love your locs. I’m on my 3rd set now. This is the most controlled I’ve had them in the sense of keeping them more separated. I’ve had some pretty thick close to your size but they were impossible to dry. I like them finger wide basically. I have to wash more often though since my scalp gets dry and itchy. I probably wash once a week. Once a month I’ll do apple cider vinegar wash. Anyways thanks for reading and posting your video. Much blessings and good vibes on your life and loc journey.

      That's super dope! I'm still on my first set and often times think what a may have done differently. I can't say that I'll ever start again but that is definitely circumstantial. Yes, You are absolutely correct about dry time, another reason why I don't wet often. I can see where your coming from with having to wash often. Much success on your journey! 💚

      @@Hempresshill no problem. I’m sure I’ll watch more of your videos sooner or later. One of your videos showed up on my recommendation so i watched since I’m generally genuinely curiously curious about other peoples locs. Yours have some length on mine but you have more time with your 1set like you said. I’m probably 3/4 years in with the locs but grew my hair out for 2 years while brushing. Then once it got to a nice length I just stopped brushing and abracadabra they just lock on their own. So mine are longish but you have some very nice length on yours. Maybe one day I’ll post a video here or Facebook or something for you to see what mine look like...whatever 😋👍🏼 anyways nice chatting with you on youtube and thanks for chatting. 😎👍🏼👍🏼

    Hmmm… the time when I cover my locs might be changing, after thinking about this. I’m 1.5 years into my second loc journey (freeform this time), and I put a bonnet on at night w/ a satin pillowcase. I intended to wear a bonnet until my 2 year mark, then get a loc sock since I wanted to make sure my locs grow all in the same direction.
    When my locs were long enough for it, I planned to do the big bun on top of my head with a long rectangle-shaped satin scarf to again, keep my roots’ integrity. My locs look like the Queen Po’s in size, for reference.
    I definitely have been leaving the bonnet off on occasion, so maybe I’ll consider it more as I continue to decolonize my idea of “ideal freeform locs.” 😊
    I love your locs, but I ideally want my locs no thicker than a jumbo sharpie marker. So, we’ll see! I am totally excited about the journey. So far, it’s been exciting at every turn, especially since I’ve left the idea that there is an “ugly phase” behind a year ago.

    Wonderful video!! I was intrigued by your routine of brushing your locs prior to washing them in order to remove lint. I enjoyed that cute freestyle rap about Vitamin D, and I really loved that delicious bonus content at the end. I'll have to try that dish. I've never eaten jackfruit before, but I'll need to try it. I've heard much about it.
    One question for you. Do you do any deep cleaning of your locs involving ACV rinses? I've heard about the benefits of rinses with baking soda, apple cider vinegar, & lemon juice for thoroughly cleansing the hair.
    Much Respect and Much Love! 💛

    Were you wearing a shower cap while showering at any point in your journey? Do you recommend it?

    • @Hempresshill
      @Hempresshill  3 роки тому +2

      I don't recall wearing a shower cap at any point. 🤔 I would only recommend if your hair absorbs a lot of water and doesn't dry. Wet hair can lead to mold.
