"I used portra 800 instead of Cinestill because I ran out, and Cinestill is out of stock.... Everywhere"
Never felt a statement more
Funny that these days it’s the only color negative film that’s regularly in stock, at least with 35mm.
There's something about the humour in these videos that just makes me happy hahah.
yes, couldnt agree more xD
+1 from germany
+1 from Denmark ;)
+1 from Finland :)
+1 from UK
"Tonight we will be experimenting with each other- oh shit wait" 😂
I watch a lot of film photography youtubers and you are by far my favorite, definitely deserve more subs. Your videos have a sense of real personality and the photos you make are really incredible. You're really an inspiration, wish you success
they alright
Love the choice of music, it makes for a great atmosphere. Though that might just be the atmosphere between you and Caleb
4:16 you can effing hear the 67 shutter in China.
the truest pros use lens hoods at night
Hahaha
They can be useful for long exposures tho....
I always slap a hood on my lens, if it's somewhat expensive. I'm clumsy, and it's a pretty huge amount of protection for the front element.
1:20 I love Calebs social distancing that timing was perfect slowly taking his distance.....
This is the only channel where I've seen every single video and have notifications on for the next one and I don't even shoot film!! Great video, great pictures and as always, funny as hell! Thank you.
Yet. You don't shoot film yet. It's only a matter of time.
That was a pretty flaccid cable release. You’re right, Jason
Damn LA is empty at night. Is everyone in their car or something?
iNerdier we all congregate on the 405 around this time
L:A is huge, lots of places to go people to see.
They probably went on a weeknight, Chinatown during weekend nights is lit
Can I say you’re my favorite youtuber at the moment? Humor + photography all in one channel, damn this is so good!
Dude these are stunning shots. I always figured diffusion filters gave a kinda blurry image because of the low contrast but these are super sharp while still being all glowy!
These photos have so much atmosphere in them - it’s giving me motivation to continue taking photos at night.
Nothing brought more joy to my day than seeing a quality video by Jason
you have instantly become my 1. inspiration 2. Entertainment 3. education (i'm all digital...for now). Love the hazy neon in this video. Thank you for existing!
Great video. I love this style of photography and you have no idea how bored I am of my little British city in with no lights on a good day in this pandemic.
Get that Cinestill raid event going and I'm joining. Enjoyable as always!
Honestly one of the few channels I love seeing a notification for!
Literally my favorite photography content on youtube. Pls continue creating
i love your humor!! Pls ceep up the vids. loving them and ur photos
This is going to sound kind of funny, but I wish I had discovered your channel a year from now, because you'd have twice as many videos to watch. Love your content, man.
360p gang where u at!?
I always watch them in 360p so I see no difference
I watch them at 144P to really get the grain
Fulll SD ((;
you are making increasingly better videos, great job, really love them
YES! I've been waiting more from you
Idk why but i just keep rewatching these videos every few months
Liked the video before it even began
Same
One of the best channels on youtube ! And next video is from Iceland ! Shit i cant wait !
the cinestill epidemic should be on the democratic 2020 platform
shooting at night is so relaxing and so is this video
Love watching your stuff man!
I appreciate your videos a lot. Thank you so much.
I’ve been to Chinatown at night countless times. This must have been in the wee hours to not have at least some people around...well done!
The prestige! Love it!
Aye its 5am here and I'm watching grainy days
We need a sequel to this lol
fire intro lmao 4 years later we are still shooting film to avoid the feeling of insurmountable, existential dread, building up to the realization that we are all just royally fucked
Would love to know more about the settings you chose and what you did about metering. I saw one of you use the same phone app i use for metering so would be super helpful. Loved the video!
That Pentax's shutter sound
Loved ALL the photos, I mean SO AESTHETIC... Bravo! Gorgeous. Except for the ones w the flash, those were wack... Great vid! Subbed!
best film photography channel around
I find your content outstanding. Gonna smash the like button in each video you upload until you make the 10M subs you deserve💎
The best comedy film photography channel on the planet
I put the notification bell on. Good job Jason
I was googling the same thing two days ago.
Finally it's from you.
*4:28**: Now that's dope picture! Fantastic! Awesome!!*
Binge watched all your videos last night only to realise I mistook this one as the tips for shooting at night video. Happy days.
Now I need a pro mist filter. My troubles will be over once I get one. I'm sure of it.
Amazing video as always! Why did you go with the 1/2 strength ProMist filter versus something like 1/4?
I'm glad I discovered this channel.
Loved this video, good work fellas! 😁
That intro sold me! 😂 *Liked*
This was a well timed video for me
Damn Canters is lit at night, was there a couple days ago and only part of the sign was on!
You're not off with those lights, Jason. They switched them from incandescent to LED lights some time back. The LEDs don't have quite the same color temperature of incandescent or (traditionally) sodium vapor. So, your Tungsten balanced film renders the color of those lights as a somewhat muted yellowish tone.
Some good info! I did notice it was hard to kill the strong yellow/orange cast on those shots
Did you apply any LUT on the a7s footage? Looks amazing!
Awesome results.
I fucking adore the feeling of intimacy in the music and the intro to this video. Your talents are wasted on youtube. 1:04 - 1:18 is just... *chefs kiss*
Yooo, UA-cam algorithm finally picking up!? love the shot of the telephone booth!
Ferenc Bodor so sick
Liked while ads were still playing. Lol. Great content for sure.
How are you not getting the views and subs bro? Your content is fucking amazing! Keep it up.
More? This was good bruh
And I was just going to say you're the bastard that bought all the damn Cinestill 800t. Great vid, keep em coming Bro.
So rad.
Great video, just discovered your channel. Laughed, liked and subbed.
Ohhhhh yeah this is a crispy vid
Nice t-shirt, my Dorito dude.
I wonder if you put a more reflected coating on the pressure plate of a camera if it would increase the amount of halation similar to what you get from cinestill, given that they claim that this is what causes the halation in the absence of the remjet layer.
Nice video! I didn‘t see Caleb using MLU... Any affects on his images or just an urban legend? Is the Lightmeter App reliable under this low light conditions? Did you guys compare the metering results at some point? Cheers
These Metz flashes throw some lightning strikes of light.
You're so close to 20k! Can we get a shooting in Nepal with the the Nishika N8000 special?
Oh, daddy days!
That pentax 67 slaps bro.
I need help exposing for night photography, I use a phone light meter but I am never sure what to meter for. If the settings work on my phone, should they work on film in those settings too? (plus a lil overexposure?)
im not watch this vids yet, but i will leave my thumbs and comment first
YEET a new vid. Almost got lost watching negative feedback
the hotdog costume just killed me
never knew that a metz flash and mamya 7 +cini800t would be a wicked combo on night photography..
I just put 8 rolls of cinestill 800 on eBay a few days ago because I f'ing hate this film :) Please buy it.
show us your backpack!! great video!
This is great. 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
dude your videos are so fucking good. Keep em coming!!!
Why the use of the black pro mist? Thanks.
does anybody know the music playing when jason was loading the cinestill at the beginning?
How do you like the 1/2 diffusion? I’m not sure what strength to get.
It's cool but a bit strong for my taste. If I were shooting at night again, I'd go with 1/4!
straight to 1080p gang :O
I keep wondering what lens this guy uses for his photos. Not sure if it is wide or if it is short tele liken105 or 85.
stupid question but should I be looking for a lense hood?
wish i had friends like this
Was just in Chinatown today. Be cool to run into you one day. Sick video.
What type of Tripod you using? Love your videos. Keep it up.
Two of my favorite cameras are film cameras... I need to shoot them more often.
Great Video! Y'all Should try Pushing Delta 3200 to 6400 for night photography it's great! :)
Ey Mas Jason, did u use the tiffen pro mist filter all the time when u shoot?
which diffusion filter? 1/4 or 1/8
I laugh so hard when he say experiment with each other, haha.. btw nice video and pictures. I also make a video shoot film at night on my channel just uploaded yesterday
Great video. Could you show what your exposing for in a few of your shots
When should you use a tripod?
what are you guys writing down on paper after you take the pictures?
Me with digital camera seeing every video you are good
07:46 is that a payphone booth? Where?
