    Thanks! Years ago I bought a BeatBuddy and the SD card came with a bunch of midi grooves. This helped me import all the grooves into EZdrummer 3.

    I have been a professional musician since 1979 (last time I had a 'job'). I just found out about your site an hour ago from a Toontrack EZD3 forum. Glad I did. I've been in the DAW world since the very beginning - Cakewalk, ACID, Logic, etc... I now use Studio One Pro. I have used Groove Monkey midi in the past and thought well of it. Today I find you and your sale AND Groove Monkey's sale AND they stack... boom! No brainer, bought the Mega MIDI pack. Just finished downloading and installing. And considering that lightening hit my front porch last night and lit it on fire (thank the stars for the fire extinguishers I'd invested in) I feel doubly blessed - my house didn't burn down and I scored the complete Groove Monkey midi library. Thanks, Shootie, you have a new subscriber and I will be sharing and recommending your channel.

    Thanks so much for this! I JUST purchased EZ Drummer 3 and was looking for some heavier grooves. Toontrack has expansion packs for like $90 right now, so I used your code and picked up Groove Monkey's "High Octane" for like $17.00 and it sounds awesome!! Looking forward to more videos!

      Awesome, great to hear! Brian, the Toontrack Expansion packs are $90 because they come with sounds as well. Toontrack does sell Drum Midi Packs for $30. Regardless there's still a savings with Groove Monkee.

    This is a great Go To vid and tutorial if you are new to or even if you use 3rd party loops etc a lot. I just walked through buying and installing (then linking etc in EZD 3) and matched what happens (for me anyway) with the tutorial.... bang on. Note that the information on "organisation and navigation" is good stuff and good advice. I play/compose/record jazz - a niche and obscure so 3rd party data is common.... and reasonable organisation.
    Another "tool" of strong value from Shootie.

    Hey man. Loving your work. Wondering if you could advise..... I would love to be able to print off the beats I've written so that I can give them to my drummer as sheet music for him to learn from. With that usually not being possible, I tend to export the beats I've written in cubase or reaper, and import them into musescore. To do that I usually have to set the midi up on channel 10 or else when musescore imports, it opens on a piano stave instead of a drum stave (not to mention the various other problems, like all the notes being in the wrong places on the stave (even when it is a drum stave!). I'm hoping that with EZDrummer3 there'll be a way to export the midi of beats I've written, such that I can import them into musescore on a drum stave but not sure how to do it as it is opening as a piano stave. Also hoping that it will put the notes in the right place on the drum stave! Or for an easier solution! I can't imagine why something like EZDrummer 3 doesn't have an option to convert drum midi to drum sheet music! haha, oh frustration.... thanks for any tips. Martyn

      EZD3 does not have a feature like that at all. If you own EZD3, go to the main menu>Help>Show Midi Map Layout. Those are the notes that will be output for your original method. If you're in Reaper, you might be able to apply a midi filter that could reassign the notes, but I only know this methods works for incoming midi, not sure about outgoing midi.

      Have you noticed that with their midi the tempo is not written in the meta data? Also that when it comes to fills that they may be a little too humanized, to put it politely? I bought a bit of it on sale, which was probably their older stuff. I was thinking that I would hope it improves in the new stuff which I have not tried yet. Regardless, the price is right over there. No complaints, just observations.

      @@ShootieSchool lol, man i searched for my entire career for an amp like this, that did jazz to metal and did it all to perfection. I went through a ton of amps and gave up thinking an amp could be made that could do all the genres and cleans and dirty tones well. I used to use a mesa 5:50 and just used pedals for my dirt because i wasnt gonna carry around 2 amps to gigs. I actually had one of these before but I sold it thinking I had found a cheaper answer with in the box presets, I was satisfied for a long time but its just not the same as a real amp mic'd up.

    I'm hearing pops throughout your audio. Rewound and double checked that they're in the audio and it wasn't random during playback. Go to 1:26 and listen to the word "audition" and then a few seconds later in the word "folder". I heard these during the whole video but those were two places I noticed close together enough that you could check them. PS - where are you from, roughly? I lived in Minnesota until I was 11 but then we moved to Acton, MA and half the kids sounded just like you! I sounded like Jerry Lundegaard from Fargo.

    Hello! I just linked the midi from my Native instrument Studio Drummer folder but the midi mapping is off. I'm getting tom hits when it's supposed to be hi-hat. How do I fix that in EZD3?

    • @ShootieSchool
      @ShootieSchool  Рік тому +1

      When you Import a Linked Folder, you can right click on it and select a Mapping Preset. Though this is intended for Ekits, not other software manufacturers. SO you could test those maps out, otherwise, I'm not sure what the solution inside EZD. Certain DAWs have plugins to remap midi, like Cubase and Reaper. If NI isn't using the drum midi standard, then that's an inconvenience from NI unfortunately. Some companies do that.

    Hey Shawn, not sure if you're still reading comments on this video - I added my GetGoodDrums MIDI to EZD3 - the notes all play correctly despite the fact that GGD's mapping is different (kick and snare are an octave lower than most other MIDI libraries), so it was nice to see that EZD3 was able to figure that part out automatically. But, there's still some kind of tempo issue going on - I have to set the Tempo in the EZD3 Grooves player to 2x to get the GGD grooves to play at their intended tempo. Further, the "Original Tempo" button has no effect on these grooves. Just wondering if you have any experience with a case like this? I realize that this video was focused on Groove Monkee grooves, but I thought this was the closest video of yours to post this at.

    • @ShootieSchool
      @ShootieSchool  Рік тому

      I only own one of their older products. And the meta data in the midi works as it should. I would contact GGD drums about it.
      I've found that their files are the least friendly 3rd party midi files for EZ, but I have not put extensive time on playing with them either.
