That's a pretty solid list my man. My biggest issue is Undercover being second to last. Undercover is more than solid, take another listen or two. I love that freaking album. It's better than Voodoo Lounge and Steel Wheels. Hackney Diamonds is amazing but you have it slightly too high probably. Goat's Head Soup gotta be in their top ten as well.

Every list reflects the individuals' taste; my rankings would be different, but I respect any true fans opinions. When Hackney Diamonds was first released, I agreed with almost every positive review that was given, and even to this day I contend that it is a very good album. One of those positive reviews questioned whether or not you would still be listening to this a year from its' release, and I have to admit that after repeated listening's in the months after its' release, I haven't played or desired to hear the album for about 6 months. I wonder how many others that still believe this is a good album (like I do), find that it is no longer on their playlist.
Goats Head Soup #13, Some Girls #9??? Wow. Just wow. 🤦♂️. Good call on Hackney Diamonds, it’s a good album. 1) Exile 1) Sticky 1) Bleed 4) Banquet 4) YaYa’s Extended version…it’s my list! 4) Girls 4) Extended version Goats with Brussels….call me a cheater, i can take it. Would still be #4 without Brussels. 8) Love you live… it’s my list! 9) Tattoo 10) IORR 11) Hackney 12) B&B Ooopps, forgot Aftermath, throw it in there somewhere, maybe 10 The rest….whatever *Wish they would have made this an album*) Trident Demos. Another tied for 4).
Just found your channel. I quite enjoyed this video and I can't say I disagree with it. There are a couple of albums which I don't think of quite as highly. I wonder if you plan on reviewing any of The Stones live albums?
Excellent list. Good choices. For the most part I agree with you. Exile is my number 1, but I won’t argue with anyone that has any order of Exile, Sticky, and Let It Bleed in their top three. Beggar’s banquet too. I will say that Undercover is a criminally underrated record. I’d put that much higher. My biggest contention, however, would be Goats Head Soup, which I consider their most underrated. In fact, I’d include it in their top five with the string of great records from 68-73. It’s simply incredible. I have a couple of US pressings, a UK pressing, and the Giles Martin remix. The UK was very muddy and veiled. The U.S. pressings aren’t as bad as everyone says they are. The best one is the Giles Martin….much more dynamic and punchy.
@@top5records796 The first 4 or 5 albums aren’t anything special. After that they obviously get much better. They’re just not as memorable as Tattoo You to my ears but we all hear things differently
I'll back you up on 'Hackney Diamonds' and 'Black & Blue', they are mercilessly discriminated by purists simply because they have shinier production values but IMHO they have some of Rolling Stone's best songs on them. 'Bite My Head Off', 'Sweet Sounds of Heaven', 'Memory Hotel' etc... ;)
Very good ranking! Of course we have our little differences, I tend to prefer Out of Our Heads over RS2, I'd rank Undercover higher than Voodoo and Emotional/Tattoo probably a bit higher too but the rest is quite close! I can put either Sticky or Let It Bleed on top. I did love Hackney, didn't rank it yet but it deserves a good position, maybe below all the classics including Goat and Black and Blue though. You surprised with Blue and Lonesome, didn't pay much attention to it.. Need to play it again!
These are live albums. I don't expect them here. Apart from that forget "Still Life" and "Got Live If You Want It." "Live at El Mocambo" is the 2nd best Stones Live album.
Great list!! Exile on #1 for me for sure. Btw around the 10:30 mark you said "sam cooke is one of the greatest vocalists alive " so i looked him up and it says he was killed in 1964 actually lol
@@MrHobo71 You wrote "Hackney Diamonds best album since Exile?" and then you mention the 65 album "Out of Our Heads" as a better album than Hackney Diamonds 😂. Since Exile means since 1972 and 1965 is not in that range. Understood?
Hackney Diamonds at #8. Huh. Was he taking drugs when he listened to it? Was he made loopy by a carbon monoxide leak? No sentient life form could prefer that album to Some Girls.

From Beggars Banquet to Tattoo are all great albums
The versions at the outset really fine
I would like to include the leftover album Metamorphosis with a seering side two.

One of the best albums of 2023. I don’t understand the negativity.
Dirty works isn't the worst, bigger bang is the worst
Bridges to Babylon is worse than both
@Shah-of-the-Shinebox totally disagree. Bridges there are like 4 ok songs. Bigger bang is a smelly piece of 💩
@RonKoralewski-se6bs there are some OK songs but the production is horrible
Voodoo lounge isvway better. Certainly better then hackney diamonds.

Absolutely. Nothing after Tattoo You is worth your time.
