I think he's the poster boy because because he was the first one, the first guitar rock star. A lot of subsequent guitarists could therefor be accused of trying to copy an image, but not Keith. Because he was the original. (One of them of course, but certainly the most iconic one, image-wise)

I love the candid moments at the end when they are shooting B roll and Keith and the interviewer are just having a conversation and he asks him to do a prompt and Keith is so humble and accommodating. This is why people love Keith so much, salt of the earth that man.
This is a great time capsule not only for Keith, but the politics of the time. His lines about performing, and not only recording, apply today in 2024. He is still a performer. If you can? Do it. One thing he has never been in spite of his money and fame is full of crap. He has always been a real deal rock n' roller, and doesn't take BS from anybody, including the interviewer. The Expensive Winos were a good band, hence this promo interview. Unlike many rock stars, he was not " full of himself ". I'm getting ready to do gigs again because there is nothing like live performances. This interview inspired me, as I've performed for decades, and still can. Thank you for posting this.

I've long thought he's highly intelligent. It's possible that music has contributed to being lateral in his thinking. His lyrics show his genuine emotions. And he's always answered questions very honestly. There's no bullshit here because he doesn't like fakeness.
People who underestimate Keith are just repeating cliches and not really paying attention to his intellect and the wisdom he has gathered over the years. Some think he is celebrated because he has taken drugs and partied a lot but most of us just appreciate that he does what he wants to do , whether that happens to be partying or whatever. He's made his own rules and he has gotten away with it.
What I really like on Keith is, in this period, mainly this interview and ALL interviews with Keith at all - he's absolutely stoned by booze or pills or powder (mayby put all this stuff together) but I NEVER seen Keith is awkward! He's one from "the great" I belief what he says! He's a loyal and honest guy I think. I appreciate him as a honest human being, not only he's Keith Richards and got a lot of bucks. No I think, he's a "normal" guy you can hang around with, not in the way he's a VIP or the famous member of tha Rolling Stones.

I got the sense, during that part, of what a sweet guy he is at heart. Didn't act like an impatient diva, just a level-headed (and pretty buzzed) pro doing what's required of his job. I'm sure he could be a real a-hole at times, like most of us, but he comes across as a genuine sweetheart.

great interview. Keith is a dude. couldn't believe the interviewer didn't know he was married at the end, after he had already mentioned it in the interview. maybe the interviewer couldn't really understand all of what was said although his English sounded near perfect.

I found myself thinking, these guys are unreal...you don't just hear them, you feel them. It's better than church. "By the way Keith, can you do a promo for my show? It has a ridiculously pretentious name."
