This man has always been VERY INTELLIGENT and well read. Even at his most strung out he was never dumb enough to let it define him. Brilliant artist and musician.

You can tell he gets fed up with the stupid, bullshit questions, but goes ahead trying to be gracious and cooperative. I don't think I've seen Keith do the haughty rock star thing.

@@dr.buzzvonjellar8862 Actually I missed some personal remarks by Keith cause we were off record, when he told me, that he played chess with his father the night before. Walking the streets after, police mistook him for a bum - but then gave him a lift when they discovered who he was!

It’s ironic that he’s considered the poster boy, cliche rock star because he’s actually one of the most thoughtful, kind and intelligent of all rock musicians.

    • @bakkels
      @bakkels 3 дні тому +6

I think he's the poster boy because because he was the first one, the first guitar rock star. A lot of subsequent guitarists could therefor be accused of trying to copy an image, but not Keith. Because he was the original. (One of them of course, but certainly the most iconic one, image-wise)

    • @MrOctober44

He's the poster boy for rock star excess. I don't know what that has to do with being thoughtful, kind, or intelligent.

This is a great time capsule not only for Keith, but the politics of the time. His lines about performing, and not only recording, apply today in 2024. He is still a performer.
    If you can? Do it.
One thing he has never been in spite of his money and fame is full of crap.
He has always been a real deal rock n' roller, and doesn't take BS from anybody, including the interviewer. The Expensive Winos were a good band, hence this promo interview.
Unlike many rock stars, he was not " full of himself ".
I'm getting ready to do gigs again because there is nothing like live performances.
This interview inspired me, as I've performed for decades, and still can.
    Thank you for posting this.

People who underestimate Keith are just repeating cliches and not really paying attention to his intellect and the wisdom he has gathered over the years. Some think he is celebrated because he has taken drugs and partied a lot but most of us just appreciate that he does what he wants to do , whether that happens to be partying or whatever. He's made his own rules and he has gotten away with it.

What I really like on Keith is, in this period, mainly this interview and ALL interviews with Keith at all - he's absolutely stoned by booze or pills or powder (mayby put all this stuff together) but I NEVER seen Keith is awkward! He's one from "the great" I belief what he says! He's a loyal and honest guy I think. I appreciate him as a honest human being, not only he's Keith Richards and got a lot of bucks. Compare his dialog to the vapid word vomit of todays "artists"...Saw the band in Cleveland last summer, for the 13th or 14th time. I found myself thinking, these guys are unreal...you don't just hear them, you feel them. It's better than church.
"By the way Keith, can you do a promo for my show? It has a ridiculously pretentious name."

How many hundreds of thousands of men in his generation who looked at him with disdain and disrespect and predicted that he would crash and burn and kill himself well before them have already died way before he did?

It's my ambition to outlive Keef. When he goes - I will start to feel concerned. I have the same skull ring... gifted to me by my partner... Love him!
