The Idris really is the ultimate multicrew ship. A beautfiul bridge with a great view, lots of turrets and the most important thing: A big hangar where the dogfight enthusiasts of the crew can head into battle from.
this is the first time I've seen a SC space battle that felt "naval" and had the speed and rhythm of a ship battle at sea. I'm sure a ton of balancing will eventually make everything feel "heavier" and really cement that feeling. This video was great and really illustrates how AI under utilize the Idris.
I know you definitely get this all the time but your SC videos are seriously unmatched. The soundtracks you pick, your editing, it all feels really hands on and It's always a real pleasure to watch your multicrew gameplay. Thank you once again for a knockout SC video!

When I saw that Fury fly into the hangar & compared to the bigger ships I just imagined a massive armada of Fury's lined up in that hangar. Someday I would love to see 50 Fury's just pouring out the back of the Idris, or any of the smaller ships swarming out that hangar really. 😁
The Idris easily fits 32 Arrows. With Tetris probably 50 or more. So Furies it will be able to carry at least 100 if not many more; especially if you can put them in your cargo hold updeck :) Anyways, CIG once showed a video with a ton of furies leaving the Idris :)
haha yeah doing this made we kind of want an Idris of my own :D it really is a world apart from even something like the Carrack or Hammerhead and like you i think the future space battles with capital ships and all of their supporting fighters will be someithng truly spectacular
This is not what star citizen will be about you'll need to play EVE if you want to do that. Chris Roberts has already addressed EVE fans and told them EVE style battles will not be possible, maybe 1 vs 3 max 20 vs 20 but not what many are expecting. Server Meshing is designed for 4 on 4 counter interactions in lost space _(which is still good)_ EVE is the place you go for organized space game battles i'm suspecting many will be upset with Star Citizens server meshing expectations once released. Server meshing is not limitless, this is not it's purpose.
@@stash. Take the baby steps first. Look too far forward, and one might trip up on something right next to him. Deal with the problems in testing, then scale up further, likely to coincide with probable future breakthroughs in hardware and software.
Damn that boarding in the middle of the space battle really makes me look forward to when we have proper server meshing and large org battles in the future it will be so sick
Awesome to see. I had a similar experience with my org! Pro tip: you can repair on any station just park the idris on a pad. No gear down, and offset 90 degrees from the pad. As long as the heart of the idris is on the heart of the pad. Sometimes the copilot or gunners have to repair (pilot gets no prompt in mobi sometimes).. That'll save you 30 minutes to arccorp next time.
Hey there Kate, Awesome video! I wanted to pass along a tip I learned recently when looting one's own dead body to reclaim gear for you or others who may read this comment: When looting your previously deceased body with the new Loot UI menu (where it shows your gear on the lower portion of the screen and oncoming potential gear at the top), we can hit the gold arrow at the top right of the screen to go back to the old looting menu. Once here, if you click and drag your old undersuit onto your character, it should re-equip everything instantly (bugs notwithstanding). Hope this helps! o7
I got to board the Idris with working AI, was such a wild experience having them move and shoot through the decks at me and two others, was the only time I've seen the AI work. I hope that CIG get that to be a constant one in the future, as its a needed experience for sure.
Yeah the Merchantman is definitely cool, not my specific cup of tea but will be an impressive ship when it finally gets released no doubt! and a Gatac Capital ship would be awesome going off of the designs of their current ships :)

Great video. I was lucky enough to board the Idris with some friends and friendly players over the weekend. Was SO cool and something I've wanted to in SC for ages! I had a lot of fun exploring it. We then flew around for a while, until it despawned.
I could imagine when the Jav finally gets added to the game, the fleet battles will be immense with hammerheads and idrises being run as escort. Great work locking down the Idris!
so cool … it’s like seeing two galleons trading blows and broadsides. I can’t even imagine the coordination with large multi cap ship battles. Amazing work … hats off to the camera folks some epic shots
Wow that was an epic battle.... by July 4th I will be able to buy my first ship.... I am new to the Verse... I am excited and I can't wait to get Star Citizen. I love the video.... GG.
First off , Welcome to the Verse! Second , take it slow , big changes coming with 4.0 right around the corner. You've joined at a great time in the developement. But beware , there will be bugs & developement delays as well. But this game will hook you in like no other. Try to join an org or two. Playing with other players makes this game really shine. Fly safe Citizen , o7.
Not to be a downer, but if you say ''I'll be able to buy my 1st ship'', I hope you have a beast of a pc, I had to rebuild a bran new one with the GTX 4080 for this game to run without lag... It is NOT a game for average pc, just so you know. It needs lots of RAM, above average Graphic card with good video memory (I have 16GB).
The absolute absurd size of this ship is something to see that's for sure, and seeing the recent capital ship combat video another Star Citizen youtuber released really shows the potential that this section of the game has. As usual I love the content and would absolutely like to see more stuff like this in the future if possible.
The amount of bodies left throughout the behemoths' hallways like loose lego blocks in the wake of mayhem, was *more* than enough o hold me over until the Deadpool x Wolverine movie drops. Production value & camera-work was at Spielberg levels; TOP MARKS!
Thanks for sharing! That was a treat! I think you are correct Kate that it could be ready for release. Imagine having bunch of engineers running around putting out fires and fixing broken circuits. Yes, the future is bright, and that time is finally in the foreseeable future.
I absolutely love your videos. As someone who has no friends, is handicapped, and suffers from depression, your videos shine a bright light on my darkest days and always bring a smile to my ever frowning face. I wish I could be part of an organization like yours. Keep the content coming please!
When we finally get legitimate capital ships and carriers in our hangars, groups and orgs are going to completely change the landscape of bounties and PvP battles. Not to mention giving The starfarer and salvage ships another job of fueling and repairing the ship outside of dock. This is beyond exciting.
Not to mention the yet-to-release Aegis Vulcan and the Anvil Crucible. I really want to see them actually effect temporary battlefield repairs on a damaged Idris. The Anvil Crucible can also park nearby and repair another fighter outside the Idris too. If the Vanguard can fit inside the Idris' Hangar, the Vulcan could also take the middle hangar spot and act as extra tools and assistance for the flight deck crew to quickly repair a large amount of fighters flying in and out of the Idris' hangar.
Its really cool and kinda unexpected/expected that even monstrous ships like the Idris (especially them perhaps) always have to be worried about sneaky boarders anytime you stop moving. It adds a good counter to their power, organically without having to nerf the ship itself. I still believe that the Idris will come in the same patch as the Polaris though. They complement each other. The "glass" cannon Polaris can hunt the Idris, and the Idris can hunt, everything else. The idris without the Polaris in the same update, kind of might end up just being too dominating. Which it is SUPPOSED to be, but you know tons of people would run to Spectrum complaining, and CIG being so reactive, they would nerf the Idris uneccessarily hard. Thats why i really think the Polaris gotta come as a pair with the Idris. Then you cant really say the Idris needs a nerf, if its anti-capital nemesis is in space waiting for a target. Well, until idris owners run to spectrum and complain, so the Polaris torps become useless and travel at 120m/s. Just like the Eclipse / Tali torps got rendered useless. Sometimes i wish CIG would actually listen LESS to the vocal community...
I love how active boarding is, even with how buggy the enemy AI can be it's a risk around every corner. The camera angles for the true Capital Ship fight was something else, though. I really wish I could play this event but oh well you gotta have vacations lol.
I still can't get enough of your camera angles. From the epic vistas of the exterior to catching some of the ships landing in the hangar (as questionably parked they may be). Oh, and nice job quenching your thirst mid video, haha.
That scene where you could see the crew on the bridge together was super cool, I could see your org owning one of these things and just going all out. Love yall's content. You make the game super cinematic and actually inspired me to jump in during Invictus. Thank you!
Today I wanted to do some XT for fun and I had an org waiting in the wrecksite with 2 crewed Idris shooting down all players who wanted to do the even. Cargo was almost finished but they wouldn't let anyone do it and so at Jericho the Javelin was destroyed and the mission failed. Rather than staging their own 1v1 capital battle they chose to grief others. Very sad. The first Idris I was on on I think day two of XT also got stolen by other players who just killed everyone after we opened the ship up to show it off. I am glad you guys managed to recapture it. I also tried but the game kept crashing unfortunately. But hats off to you Kate gj :)
Your patience with the reload spool audio glitch is saintly. Thanks for working so hard to limit its distraction and provide another banger. Continued success in the verse!
WOW! the dynamics of crewing a capitol ship like the Idris is amazing! Watching you guys slugging it out with the enemy Idris with turrets laying into the fighters and the epic battle all around. THIS. THIS is what I'm looking forward to. Amazing vid as always You guys rock!
20:46 seeing it over ArcCorp like this, knowing that it is player controlled, puts the biggest dumb smile on my face!! piece-by-piece the vision has been coming alive. that really 🤯 sometimes.
I wish there was a way to change the IFF signatures so that you could more seamlessly label yourself or others on the radar for coordination. There probably will be one day but, not a day too soon.
I've just started playing Star Citizen a couple of days ago, and am still getting into it - but big multi-crew ships like this is the entire reason I started playing! It just seems so awesome and fun.
This video has reignited my spark for Star Citizen. I just love the different scales of conflict going on - a boarding battle inside a larger fleet battle! It's like Return of the Jedi which so much going on.
I was in my 600i flying cover for our boarding crew when I did XT over the weekend. I'm hoping I can do it again and be part of the boarding crew next time. Looked like a lot of fun!
Simply amazing! The battle felt awesome seeing the ships come in and out of the bay. Seeing the fury leave I pictured like 30 of them leaving the front like a literal swarm! Can't wait for the next Idris video
Beautiful. My small group managed to capture one too, but we're only three strong and didn't figure out how to kill the turret gunners so we weren't nearly as useful with it as you were. Very cool to see it in full force.
As you get caught up in the beautiful cinematography, it's so easy to forget that this is all recorded ingame with Kate manipulating the 3rd person view, especially during the Idris-Indris fights. And man the angle the fury captured those railgun shots was amazing
Really looking forward to the Idris, looks like it's going to be an incredible ship. And you boarding it while the fight was still going on outside was very cinematic!
I hope they revise the Idris boarding encounter so that the ship stops twitching around after you inflict X amount of damage, or you take out certain components, to allow consistent boarding. This was a fun video!
This is the best UA-cam video of 2024 thus far. The best. Just raw, unadulterated entertainment. Thanks everyone for giving us a Leroy Jenkins preview of SC!!!!!!
I started playing during invictus launch week and so far, despite the crashes and bugs, I've really been enjoying the game. Your content has given me something to look forward to as I make friends to play with in the verse. Thanks!
Watching you jumping back and forth trying to hit your body strangely reminded me of tacking against the wind in a sailing ship. Can't wait until we can make manual quantum hops!
As a big fan of the FPS combat, the boarding and taking of the ship was epic. I camt wait to be able to do that kind of stuff in game. Or even being on patrol in a ship to counter those who would try. Great video! Thanks
It's kind of a dream for me to have gameplay like this - having to break into and board the Idris (or even boarding with something like the Legionnaire in the future!) and fight your way through the defenders to take over the ship. This was a very fun video to watch, and a great idea to try while the event is on!
I know that struggle of trying to get back lol. I used my trusty Avenger Titan and had almost 800km to fly. Seems like the safest place to land is the ARGO hangar. Few NPCs there, and the rest of them can't utilize the ladder. The ship also has ship inventory, which is what I had to use a few times because corpse looting was bugging out. One thing I noticed is if the NPCs notice you, they'll ALL converge on your position regardless of server performance. This makes the flight deck hangar very dangerous, as well as the side airlocks. The Idris has been a fun taste of what having a Polaris will be like. I can't wait. Was pretty certain the large hangars at A18 and even DCs could fit the Idris. Glad that's definitely the case. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun.
That was really a cool boarding action. I was playing with a friend that managed to clip into the ship with only an undersuit and helmet. He managed somehow to get a gun and armor then made his way to the bridge kill the crew there by himself. He said it was the most EPIC thing he has ever done in SC and I agree. This game has so much potential for SC moment like yours and his.
I was having some really bad luck with XT- if I got anywhere near a fight, server lag or something would delay everything to the point that I couldn't react, so I'd just get a "shields hit" warning and then just explode right after, regardless of what I was flying. Nice to catch some footage of boarding action and actually crewing this thing.
This video and the Voidy Vids video where they hijacked two Idris have been absolutely awesome. The battles and the boarding -- everything was so epic. Just taking the idris down to Area 18 looked so cinematic. There's really no game like it.
The seamless transition from space combat into the boarding action (while space was still contested) is just too epic.
It’s because there is no actual transition! The stuff you can do in Star Citizen is and has been pretty wild.
welcome to Star citizen :D

As you get caught up in the beautiful cinematography, it's so easy to forget that this is all recorded ingame with Kate manipulating the 3rd person view, especially during the Idris-Indris fights. And man the angle the fury captured those railgun shots was amazing
No, the Fury pilot is shooting the extra battle footage from the outside
Managed to do my first round of it last night, boarding the Idris was a ton of fun and one of the coolest experiences I've had coming back.
Great video, congrats on getting to board and fly this, looks like the competition was fierce!
This is SO much better than the Idris vs Idris demo shown years and years ago. An excellent example of how much progress has been made!
That's insane! Loved the extra camera shots as well. Can't wait to be part of a crewed Idris
Really looking forward to the Idris, looks like it's going to be an incredible ship. And you boarding it while the fight was still going on outside was very cinematic!
"I'm in, but it was not graceful"
Quite the understatement, but you made it at least. All landings are happy landings if you can walk away from them.
Really did not want to see the Idris interior before being able to board/steal one for myself but i can't pass on a Kate Video :D
You really do make the best Star Citizen videos on the net... No one compares... I could watch these videos all day!
The call to direct power to shields really gave Star Trek vibes.
Was very epic when the fury flew out of the hanger and brings forth images of a fighter squadron lunching
Seeing the Idris actually being used is like watching a dream come true! SC has come so far since i started playing back in 2020!!! 😍
As a big fan of the FPS combat, the boarding and taking of the ship was epic. I camt wait to be able to do that kind of stuff in game. Or even being on patrol in a ship to counter those who would try. Great video! Thanks
Lucky for you to manage to board one.
In my servers it was too laggy. Cool to see.
I enjoy how you show the big things other people dont have the time or crew to do.
That was an incredible video, thank you! Great narrating, editing, and camera work :)
Capital ship combat looks great already, I like how "slow" the idris seems to turn. Really gives it that naval feeling!
Fighting as a team with a fully crewed capital ship looks so good !
It's kind of a dream for me to have gameplay like this - having to break into and board the Idris (or even boarding with something like the Legionnaire in the future!) and fight your way through the defenders to take over the ship. This was a very fun video to watch, and a great idea to try while the event is on!
Great video watching full crew in action on the Aegis Idris was incredible coordination. Looking forward to more epic space adventures.
"Where did they go?" "There they are, listing lazily to the left. Go Left. Go Left."
Those guns hit like a truck, super satisfying hits.
