I fully expect Exe to say AIE instead of IAE xD I expect people's fleets to grow, but funding will still pace behind previous years. I don't think that the excitement will be there this year, as the Polaris has been covered to death by streamers already. Also, I am not getting the Intrepid. It seems to be a ship without a purpose or a good design. The Paladin will likely be OP since it is a new ship. However, since it's covered in turrets, it will be more forced multicrew gameplay and I won't purchase.
@@mikehoncho116 Origin ships may be useless to you and I have agree that currently most of them are. Once CIG get’s around to working on Origin ships again, I believe their role and usefulness (as you say) will return.
@@ytwetsu The problem being, it is not on the production schedule, and hasn't been talking about at all. So we are probably looking at 5+ years for the 600i rework and other Origin updates.
The CSV-SM might be the LTI token throughout this IAE. Though… With multiple characters mention at CitCon, starting chains with an Intrepid + Game Pack will be the best of three worlds LTI-1, Character Slot, and Warranty.
The Paladin will definitely be a gunship in the truest sense of the word, being EXACTLY like Shockwave from the Transformers - it'll just be a gigantic pistol that flies around. Book it.
We could also get something on the show floor that isn't flyable or finished on the interior yet... Like the Polaris at Invictus this year. I wouldn't be surprised if more ships started to take that route just to increase sales / excitement a little.
I prefer the Paladin to be a unique hull than a Carrack variant. I love the Carrack but it does not seem gunship to me. Bonus points if they make it into Anvils capital ship.
I'm getting the intrepid because I think it will be a very fun Role Play ship. maybe not the best it stats. but put a ranger in one cargo pod and a hoverbike in the other... fun fun fun
I am actually looking at the intrepid as a replacement for my 300i. If it is between 5 and 10 dollars increase, as far as I am concerned. It is a better ship experience.
The Intrepid's a "nooo" for me. It's not the asymmetry, and it's not the firepower, it's the aft third of the ship. There's something just... wrong about it. That upper layer on the hull just doesn't work. At all. But with the gun upgrade, and the lovely interior, there's nothing "wrong" with it anymore - if you want a small starter and the aesthetics are your jam, then it should be OK. Caveat is that it better be a Cutter competitor, not a 300 series/Avenger competitor. Because it just isn't.
They litterally said at CitizenCon this year that the Guardian will come out this year, which pretty much means IAE unless 4.0 does launch in December and they release it then, which why then? Assuming its ready.
The intrepid is a ship I am interested in not for purchasing but wondering at this new interior level and design what the price point will sit at. For 45 it outcompetes the cutter but for 60+ its too close to the titan to make it worthwhile. Currently I have enough money in this game to melt my cutter, pulse and upgrade my nomad to a zeus cl with a skin, which I might do however, i just love the nomad too much!!. we shall see as 4.0 launches with the new system whether the nomad ends up going cos of the distance it can QT.
Yeah it's been a rough year to be motivated to play/test at all. They've added tech, but no gameplay to provide that carrot on the stick for us to test, which also means less likely to spend money.

You can buy any day from the day it goes available all the way until the end.
I'm buying the intrepid becuase I like the looks and it's got a full interior for those single session game plays
Enough invested already ($3K in) not 1c will be spent until they start fixing the game.
Agree that the Intrpid is a smuggler or long distance light hauler. I think $75-80....like the Nomad.
