Way too many low level players buy a giants sword, when their magical power is usually incredibly low. If that money was put into balancing their profile better, I think everyone would benefit
Absolutely! It's honestly crazy to me that the price tag for the weapon is still 200M, because even at 35M coins for the chest price, it still is barely worth buying. 35M worth of talismans is almost always a better upgrade than a single sword, hence why I pushed talismans heavily in this video :)
I was criminally offended when he completely ignored the Fel sword's actual purpose: BETTER DUNGEON HEALING It causes both of the healer's already solid abilities to be easier to use, and makes healing circle make any healer nigh-on unkillable in the right situation. This makes any decent tank-healer combo completely invincible against even Maxor's frenzy (No pre-wish) or Storm's giga lightning (assuming both have enough EHP)
I also dislike that he discounted it because of the kill requirement. For non-ironman profiles, you can easily buy a fel sword with 8000+ kills on it at the auction house for ~ 1 or 2 million coins then kill one or two thousand mobs to max it which only takes a few hours at most.
The thing is the dragon fuse glove is that it takes up that slot which could have the gauntlet of contagon and with the implosion belt with that you do very good clears and 35% more damage to mobs around you and it costs 4m extra
And this is where the Fel Sword comes in. I'd argue that you could honestly replace your AOTD + Glove with a Fel Sword + Contagion when you hit cata 20. You keep the same dmg, you now have a contagion and it was only a roughly 5M coin upgrade, so you're winning all around. I didn't mention this in the video since it's a little too complex (I wanted to focus more on weapons, not equipment), but it absolutely is a solid option you can go for.
You can get the dragon fuse glove for no more than 1.5m by just crafting dragon boots (which ever one costs the least money) and sacrificing the boots at the altar then selling any other drop that isnt ritual residue. I know this because I've done this multiple times and it's very easy to do and saves a lot of money
@@phantomchill8510 i mean u get a drop from the altar every 6 to 8 sacrifices so i guess u need a little luck cuz thar costs around 700k (for 7 dragon boots to be crafted)
*TLDR: Comparing weapons is more complicated than you think.* very nice video, just wanted to make a few quick comments because there are some things you seemed to miss, while yes aotd is very good, livid dagger is too, just not with the setup you where using it with. when used with a dps setup livid dagger will kill pretty much any mob really fast, faster than something like a shadow fury or even sometimes a giant sword, when paired with ferocity the attack speed from the livid dagger becomes far more impactful. just for a little suggestion, when comparing weapons it is a good idea to at least try to make a setup epitomized for each individual weapon. although with this you would also need to take into consideration the different playstyles that come with each weapon, for example with the livid dagger you could lean fully into the dps aspect and use a tiger pet and dirty reforge and put your talismans on bloody, or you could try to balance it so that you do a mix of dps and shd by going with a lion pet, suspicious reforge instead of tiger and dirty reforge, or someone could do what you did and simply not optimize their setup for the weapon they are using at all, and as you can see, that leads to very underwhelming results. Similarly when you where talking about the aotd you also failed to mention the fact that it can also function as a mage weapon as well as a mele weapon Another thing, with the gaints swords someone could instead of going with the standard shd setup one would normally use with giants sword, you could use somewhat of a hybrid dps/shd setup and use a lion/tiger pet with the sword on suspicious reforge and talismans on bloody. Final Note: this is not even taking into consideration things like stars, recoms, hot potato books, enchants/ultimate enchants, which would not only increase the damage but could also either increase or decrease the gap in damage/dps between weapons, this is also not taking into consideration things like armor and equipment. *TLDR: Comparing weapons is more complicated than you think.*
You're better off using a juju in dungeons, the only way I see someone using a melee weapon in dungeons is if livid gets stuck in a wall or a mimic is stuck in a wall
I noticed during the dps test comparison of the Livid dagger and the AOTD he seemed to be jerking his mouse with the Livid dagger in order to hit the target less instead of the optimal strategy of just sitting there and hitting the mob. If the rev can get inside of you like it usually does when you stand still all of your attacks become backstabs. Even without it if you are simply tracking the rev without backstabs then the livid dagger usually performs about 20-40% better depending on your setup.
bro if you hit them on the head or not in the middle of body that does not mean it does less damage. you must be new to skyblock. its ok tho you will learn
I think you are a little special. I did not say that in any way at all. I said backstabs. You must be knew to the game otherwise you would know that the livid dagger does bonus damage on backstabs@@MasonMNK
giants sword is the bare minimum for lcm in master mode, nothing else comes close until dark claymore, so while getting something like a giants sword might be really dumb for an early game/ mid game player, eventually it becomes needed for a certain class. granted once you get that far you should have a bit of money😅
I honestly wouldnt suggest using a giants sword for lcm, especially considering how close in price claymore and gs are rn. And if you cant use a claymore, i wouldnt suggest maging in higher master mode floors either way.
@@mqvio_173 I can complete m6 relatively easily, but m7 I would be getting carried. giants sword does near as much damage as a claymore anyways, making it a great substitute. that being said, on m6 with a left click I do about 100 million damage to mobs with a giants sword.
@@theorphanobliteratori did like 2 m7s in a c41 party and we werent really struggling tbh. If you can find a lower level party (or make one yourself on pf), as long as you mastiff wish b4 boss, you can do a completion atleast. Dps might be an issue, so waiting for a c45-ish archer might not be a bad shout
I personally went from aotd with the gauntlet, to livid dagger because I could switch out my equipment with the gauntlet of contagion. I could later sell the livid dagger when I wanted to get something better. But in terms of DPS the Livid dagger scales much better because of the attack speed. For things like starting the crimson Isle it helps quite a bit.
@@CancerGaming_ I'm not talking about good melee weapons. I'm taking about starting the crimson isle. And if you can only pick one weapon to start with, that's reasonably priced for a weapon for starting the crimson isle, you have like 3 choices (aurora staff, fire veil wand, and voodoo doll). Fire veil is like 15m so rather expensive, and aurora staff is probably a worse weapon for minibosses in specific while Id imagine being similar for mobs. But obviously it would be better to have both
Having a livid dagger or shadow fury with a flower of truth is a great combo for dungeons, flower for room clear, and livid or fury for minis and bosses
@@ModernSoldier Getting to cata 20 and below isn't really that hard, you can easily cheese into good parties/find a friend to help you do high tier floors for more XP. My friend accidentally dungeonized their Fblaze at cata 14 ish and got to cata 20 in around 2 days

crazy how a maxed livid dagger(not hypermaxed, just maxed) is worth about the same as an upgraded shadow fury yet it deals much more dps with most builds, and due to how attack speed works, with certain reforges and armor sets it deals slightly more dps than a decently upgraded giant's sword that costs 5x more coins
Reason for getting warped aotv: even tho it’s worse, If I rly just wanna annoy my friend’s I’ll recombinant my current heroic aotv, and then put warped on it purely for the different furfsky texture.
I LCM'ed with both OFA Shadow fury and OFA Giant's Sword, i can 100% ASSURE you that the Shadow fury is WAY better, not only the 170m (non clean) price difference but the damage was 122m (Shadow Fury) and 98m (Giant's Sword) , I tested them both in the same run , so i have the same blessings. My setup was maxed Ancient Storm (with slots unlocked , fumed, wisdom 5/legion 5, and recombed) with the Goggles too, and as a pets I used Wither skeleton and Ender dragon (epic).
I don't remember which series it was (Hardcore Ironman maybe), but Thirtyvirus proved Fel Sword is broken. At the time it didn't have a cata req if I remember correctly. It briefly spiked in price to like 2m, but then the admins added the cata req, and the Fel Sword fell back into irrelevance to most of the community.
I mean fel sword is a good melee weapon, but on a normal profile you can just buy a sf within a couple of hours of flipping. But melee is pretty bad anyway, for sven any early/midgame mage weapon works, same for t1-4 rev and spider, t5 rev you want a reaper and for eman you want a katana. Every other situation mage or arch would be better.
Overall, i used most of the listed weapons. The Shadow Fury and The Giants Sword(and even the Warped AOTE) do benefit more from higher tier enchants(or OFA, if you hate yourself) and high magical power then all of the other weapons listed, hence they shouldn't be the main priority with weapon progression for earlier stages of the game and get much better the more advanced you are, but they quickly get replaced by something better. The Aotd is a great secondary weapon to the Juju shortbow in dungeons. Although i agree with the Ender Dragon Pet place in the progression because of its versatility (good ehp and damage for all classes), but the epic pet alone is hot garbage for 350mil, recommended to only go for the Tier boosted (even tho no shelmet is a pain). And also, Hyperion (or any other wither blade) before Terminator. Any wither blade is the best weapon in terms of versatility, best mage damage, very good melee damage. Unlike the Terminator, its damage is great inside and outside dungeons. Melee dps is around, if not better then, the damage of the Giants Sword. Its price is definitely something else, but in the end its worth it.
@@deaddollan6583generally what that's saying is even though hype is way more expensive, term has 2 uses: master mode dungeons and kuudra (and magma boss ig?) While hype is a full on necessity for kuudra (not for any individual person, but someone in the party has to have it), is by far the best weapon for anything crimson isle, is one of probably like 3 items in the game that can 1 shot a t4 sven which is very nice for grinding wolf 9 (the others are dark claymore with an extremely good setup, and 100m midas which is probably the correct choice), a really good weapon for tara slayer though you can get away with something like a fire veil, the best clearing weapon for later floors (spirit sceptre is better if you can one shot with it), the most convenient weapon for bestiary grinding though ss is still hypothetically better, and is nearly a necessity for lava fishing
What i don't like is u're using all the possible gear to upgrade the aotd, like superior armor, ender dragon, dragonfuse glove, but u don't do that on the other swords.
i know im pretty late but this is one of the reasons i dont really blindly trust guides. Especially modernsoldiers without looking at other guides he is very biased
I do think it's worth it to buy a shadow fury around the ender dragon pet point, before or after it Alternatively, you could go for the boquet of lies that recently got added
I think it's worth saying just in case, since you mentioned "if you craft everything yourself" when talking about Aspect of the Void. While AotV has no requirement to use it does however have a Enderman Slayer VI requirement to craft. So if you wanted to use one you'd have to buy it as AotV or you might end up with an AotE and a bunch of mats that you need to resell when you realize you cannot craft it.
Hire an irl friend to do it for you lol. Wait a second, your a skyblock player, if u have friends your lucky. If you just watch skyblock, goog for u lol.
See this is partially true, but you can just get someone with the requirements to make it for you. Sure this might be harder for some people, but it's not incredibly difficult and very much an easy option
This guide is a bit weird for me at first bcuz every progression video I’ve seen so far starts out with aote, raiders axe or aotd then working towards getting livid dagger and shadow fury. But considering so many updates such as crimson isle with the equipments, the aotd with the right upgrades could literally be an endgame weapon . Upgrading from aotd to wither blades is pretty weird but regardless, absolutely love this video, sort of a up-to-date guide to increase your dmg as mid to late game player.
Yeah I totally agree with you here, it's strange to see the AOTD become a 'starter weapon' and then be useable until a necron's blade. Realistically the only thing before that is an AOTE or the basic Weapon Merchant swords (undead sword, spider sword and end sword), but I wouldn't count those because they're kind of temporary weapons you'll replace quickly. The AOTD is strong enough to do everything you need it to at an efficient level, and will get outclassed by weapons such as the juju shortbow/midas staff depending on what you use for later dungeons. For strictly melee purposes though, you pretty much just jump straight from aotd --> necron blade
@@ModernSoldierimo, void sword makes most sense as the base weapon nowadays. Hardly affects the guide, just saying that I think void sword is the most sensible basic weapon
Hm it would be very hard to compair bc you need to inclode pets but the daedalus axe could be a a good candidat as well. Since the stats are okay (if you add the effect that it 2x the pet stats) and it has a lot of uses like beeing the best farming tool for mushrooms, max magic find, and 30 coints per kill. I think it doesnt even have a combat req. But im not sure. Yes it has some downsides like not beeing dungeonizable and you need to have a high taming level but still it is quite good and maybe overlooked.
The daedalus axe is absolutely an amazing out of dungeons melee weapon, but this is usually only applicable if you have really good MP and other stats to make it worthwhile. Objectively it's much worse in raw damage & dps than the weapons I tested in this video, hence why I didn't cover it. This video is more designed to help early to mid game players make better decisions when upgrading their current melee weapons, but as a late gamer, you can definitely get away with a dae axe as your main weapon since it's something I do myself
I believe the progression model should be aotd then livid dagger Listen you probably didnt know that attack speed gets boosted by stars in dungeons m,aking it actually 75 attack speed and the occasional backstabs and 100 cc makes it viable for tanks healers and makes it so if mid game players had problems with crit chance they could stop putting tunings to crit chance but instead damage and use more damage reforges. After that once u hit cata 20 sell livid dagger and get both flower of truth and fel sword as they are both good weapons that are cheap the flower of truth can clear and fel is good for mini bosses and u can use the money u saved to do revs and get combat exp and kills. After this, this is off the list but definetely get a juju/soul whip. The soul whip does do more damage as a berserker because it is a rod and has easier clear than juju and easy to use and it is also good for tank agro in f7 but its fishing 26 which is quite difficult. Juju is definetely a good choice because it boasts more dps then soul whip and easy to get and bruh eman 5 isnt hard I legit used 3/4 ender and revived heart and fel sword to do it lmaoo. And then once you have juju or soul whip I would sell the fel sword which you got kills on which is easy profit because you can sell then for 3m which u boujght for 20k and u can keep ur fot if u really want. And then after that since melee weapons are really good for dps I would hold off and invest in combat levels talis etc. Like 100-200m before you go for shadow fury. Now imma be honest with juju u can do good dps even as berserk and if u chose soul whip A REALLY REALLY good clear weapon especially with the pierce its kinda useless. BUT because i told uj to grind revs u have rev 8 hopefully and you should buy shadow fury ( high single damage weaon) and aots so you can aots swap and do massive damage. And you might tell me that is overkill but aots can be used many places and for slayers and everything else shadow fury is good And for bers u kinda need aots. I would also upgrade my armor to frozen blaze and epic blaze pet as it boasts a lot nmore survivability and only weilds a tiny bit less damage. So the final setup progression shoujld be aotd livid dagger fot fel sword Juju/soul whip Shadow fury aots
Tbh if you rly want to rush floor 7, i would just use juju and play tank. Keep in mind tho that you will need some money to start and that it will probably take 1000+ runs to get hype and term.
I hate to break it to you, you shouldn't be using an AOTD/Livid in dungeons period. I know I covered it in the video, but I was really only referring to using them for the cata levels, and then once you're ready to actually grind dungeons, you should be using a Juju shortbow. Melee in general just kind of sucks for anything past F6 so neither the Livid, AOTD, SF or GS are good options here
Recently got the AOTD and grinded Crypt Ghouls to get xp to enchant the AOTD to the max, and now I don’t have to worry about getting another weapon when I can get the Dragonfuse glove
Pretty much. Just work on well-rounding the rest of your profile and your next weapon upgrade will likely be a juju shortbow. When it comes to strictly melee, the AOTD will carry you until a necron blade.
AOTV is not meant for damage, it's used for teleporting more efficiently than an AOTE and many player using an AOTV probably have no intention to ever use it as a damage weapon. Apart from that this was a great, informative video that can be really helpful to early game players.
Having a legendary ender dragon, 600m-700m in talisman (700-800 MP) and still using an AOTD will not cut it. I feel like you did not take into account for the armor upgrades which you will obviously make while progressing. You could safely say that a person with such money invested, has around 2b-2.5b net worth and a necron set. You would surely have thought about swapping it out for either a Juju or a Shadow Fury or a Giant's Sword. Maybe even a mage set within that span of progression.
It absolutely will cut it, because you're not going to be meleeing anymore. At that stage of the game the only melee you might be doing is the occasional revenant, tarantula and sven slayer, which you could honestly even get away with a daedalus axe if your stats are that good. In dungeons, you will be using a juju shortbow or a solid mage setup, so yes, the AOTD will definitely cut it. At that point you're only using it to "get by" wherever you actually need to melee anything, and hence upgrading to a 200M coin sword is totally worthless and your money is better spent elsewhere. I just want to re-iterate that I think you've mixed up the point of this video as a weapon progression guide. This was just meant to be a melee comparison between popular melee weapons, and I will have a formal weapon progression guide coming out over the next few weeks. I will go into much more depth with weapons such as the juju shortbow, the midas staff, etc in there, so don't worry about that. This video is just the melee testing I needed in order to conclusively say "the giant's sword is a waste of money, and so is the shadow fury".
- Slayers : It's not worth it if you aren't meleeing T4 Voidglooms with high tier Crimson / grinding Blaze Slayer. - Dungeons : You lose all of your speed (which is very important for clearing) and a Golden Head / Diamond Head would deal more damage as far as I know. - Ghosts : Speed is also very important for ghosts. A Tarantula helmet/Crimson helmet would be better.
i would say watch thirtyvirus's accesory guide where he lists every talisman and upgrade from cheapest to most expensive based on how much magical power they give per coin, but im pretty sure its outdated.
@@BL4Z3_55yeah ofc it's out dated but not that much is accessory grinding meta has changed But more there are things like discord bots that do this and are constantly up to date since they reference the in-server prices
before the end update shadow fury was so good it only costed 20m and was a huge damage upgrade from almost everything but now with it costing 50m its really not worth it and if you really want a big damage sword you should go for giant sword even tho theres not much use for big damage swords
I've seen some people who like running dungeons very early on kind of neglect the talisman bag, because the stats you get from buying talismans are minimized compared to stats you get from other upgrades such as recombobulators due to them scaling with catacombs levels and stuff in dungeons, so that kind of justifies buying a Shadow Fury instead of sticking with AOTD while spending more on talismans
I'm pretty sure that the talisman upgrades get upgrade with blessings. Could be completly wrong but with only 500 mp and about 100 mil invest into talis abotu 1/4 my stats form it using itchy and a juju with fb and epic blaze.
Forgot about armor however, as nobody is sticking with superior for the whole game. The best upgrades are Frozen Blaze with a blaze pet, until you can afford an edrag, or necron with any dmg pet until you can afford an edrag. At that point, necron is the only viable set in dungeons for meele, and outside of dungeons its pretty much required to go hypemage and run kuudra for crimson
I really liked the video, it was very informative. Sadly i feel like mage / archer just completely destroy melee. I hope that they change some things up soon, as if you don't have a hype, using jinxed vodoo doll and fire veil wand you can deal way more damage than even using a giant's sword.
This is too true. I focused explicitly on melee in this video because I will cover mage and archer in a separate video, but yeah, there's almost never a point in going for the high ticket melee weapons. This is mostly why I push for people to keep their AOTDs because you shouldn't be forking out absurd amounts of money on a melee weapon of all things, when you're better off forking that money for a Juju Shortbow knowing it'll actually serve you better use in dungeons
I think selling aotd and dragon fuse glove to buy a sf is better. It really depends on what you need. If you already bought a ton of talismans and the rest are very expensive then buy SF, if you dont have any talismans get those. Since on your profile your aotd did around 68k damage and sf did 91k. But on my profile all the weapons I have tested have no enchants but have 5 stars, fuming potato books, fragged for SF and aotd had dragon fuse glove. Aotd did 85k while my SF did over 140k. I don't know if it is my setup or armour. But I think it really depends. But I do agree GS is not worth it since my GS did around 160k. Aotd is really good for its price however dragon fuse glove is like 10m rn.
Hey man, this helps to understand how weapon 'progression' when it comes to where I am right now, but could you do a video on accessories? Like how many there are/how to best get them? The only one that is currently like that is from another UA-camr but is very outdated so I think you may be able to explain how different accessories can slowly add to your damage
In a nutshell this vid is bad progression 💀 Start gug till e drag Instead e drag Juju non Then 500mp Hype Non Then Term non (Use f7 for money or do mining 😭)
I've never felt like talismans needed a whole video on them, but I'm starting to realise that people think they're a lot more complicated than they actually are. All you need to do is buy the cheapest talismans you can afford, and then once your cheapest upgrades start to be around 15M per talisman, you recomb your legendaries, epics, rares, etc. I have a video on how to increase your damage which details buying talismans a little more, so I'd suggest checking that out if you still need some help (it's my 2nd most popular video, I'd link it, but UA-cam will delete my reply)
in my opinion you should've switched powers to get more fair dmg, for example FOT could do way more then aotd if you used silky, also you completely forgot that livid gets another +25% atk speed in dungeons making it do quite a bit more DPS then aotd
@@germans_lol7259 No one might as well use warped aotv as by the time you have enough money for it, your previous weapon is stronger than the aotv Edit: also he tested the warped aotv in another video so yeah it's pointless

some more proof that gab is a chad 1. he actually saw tons of confusion on the last video about superior and he cleared it up 2. he also saw that some people said the power stone was unfair and he also cleared that up as well
With the new berserker update, how would bouqeut of lies, bone reaver, and felthorn reaper preform? I currently use a bol, and its probably on par with spirit sceptre clearing (even better if you use young dragon) and does good dps when you left click and right click at the same time. I tested it against the felthorn reaper and giant's sword while killing an m3 guardian and the bol was the slowest, but not by much. Imo bol is very good and is cheaper than a sf.
To summarise - giant sword should be optained but only as a loot from chest in dungeons, cause you will still need to farm it since mastering f7 won't be possible with 24 cata lv
I know this guide is directed towards low lvl players but when you hit a certain point giant sword just becomes so much better. I recently switched from sf to giant and saw a 200k damage increase.
While yes the fel sword is pretty cheap the one your were using has 10k kills on it wich makes it way more expensive ( it’s around 7-10m from what I’ve seen ) so it isn’t that good of an option considering it’s price, still a great video you make good content! Edit : mb didn’t see the section about the fel sword …
Now we need armor, i need armor that works virtually all situations, except eman slayer ofc. Right now really considering frozen blaze, but i also curious about necron xD
Armor is on my list! I have a LOT of big comparison and progression guide stuff on my mind right now, so just stay tuned and expect those over the coming weeks/months :)
I believe that the test would be more objective and correct if you would use your normal glove instead of the ender glove for all weapons(without the AOTD ofc) because if you wouldn't use the AOTD normaly you would not use the ender glove, as it is not as good and effective as another piece of equipment, like molten, as an example.
You didn’t use one for all on shadow fury and giant sword. Its just 5m and the damage upgrade is more worth it than fully enchanting them with all other enchants. They would do more damage and if you think its a „unfair“ comparison then just put one for all on all the swords.
Right Modern lemme point this out to you, At 0:30 when you pop up the cata requirement on screen why do you choose to show the Cata 19 on the right where the Shadow Fury is and Cata 14 where the GS is.
I still got my Shadow fury from back when it was less than 20mil. No point upgrading to the giant sword. But the shadow fury is pretty neat. 50mil is a bit much tho... but still
Yeah, there's no point in upgrading from your SF at all. At 20M I would say it's definitely a worthwhile upgrade since the amount you spend on the sword is better value than the amount you would've spent on talismans. This doesn't mean that ignoring talismans is a better option, but at least it was a reasonable price for the damage increase. I'd definitely just keep this until you can afford a term/necron blade, because you're not gonna need anything else until you reach that
modernsoldier the livid dagger was right for me because im low on mp and 100% crit chance is good and it gives more attack speed it alowed to solo f2 and shadow assassin armor is WORTH it sup can be good but sa and zombie knight chestplate is CHEAPER Livid dagger is right for me
Imma say we have to discuss if melee is even viable in dungeons. Because honestly, before you get an edrag you should probaby get your eman slayer up and get a juju. Even as a bers. Melee is only viable for tank and even then, a soulwhip is the upgrade you should go for which wasnt even listed here.
I think a better use of money would be to spend the coins on maxing out mining and getting a hypermaxed out mining setup so you can use the billions made from mining to upgrade your talisman and getting better gear like a Valkyrie/hype when your of higher magical power.
Also, there’s a lot more amazing options after the new updates such as felthorn reaper, or bouquet of lies. And shadow fury has a requirement of cata 14 not 15z
I bought a giant‘s Sword because I was sad to use a Wither Cloak as my main weapon as a tank. I‘m really thinking to sell my gs for now for a better ability weapon like a 10 star fire veil or a bow. Tysm for ur comparison, I was suprised about the low danage it actually deals.
Its actually deals alot more, u just need some better gear, i know it beacouse i dont even have 30 combat or even 20 foraging, with not that expensive armor, and i dealing 350k dmg outside of dungeons (in dungeons with 27 dungeon lvl i deal 1.5-2.5m dmg per hit)
its only mid-early game dmg, in late game, u can deal 10m per hit in dungeons, in the full end game someone deal more than 20m, but tbh no one plays with giant sword in full end game
I'm an ironman who doesn't do a lotta dungeons so i don't have smth like a gs or hyp which is why i use warped aotv. I deal around 400k with it outside of dungeons without stuff like rag axe. It's honestly amazing how good the warped reforge is

where's the raider axe at tho. not everyone be rushing dungeons or slayers. some gamers might just be grinding small grinds like zealots or treasure hoarders or goblins/ice walkers while doing commissions. shadow fury my beloved. the ability alone is worth the 40-60m. one right-click and wabam, mob dies-- then wabam again two or three other mobs die. no aiming just one click. if there's a mob in crystal hollows behind some blocks, one click and wabam, you're put into the cave where the mob's at. giant's sword right-click ability op for fishing at any stage of the game. also good for beefy, packed 1x1s with mage cooldown ability. didn't realize that the glove made aotd strong enough to rival livid. nice.
Doesn't wanna make the tests unfair by using the correct power stone for the weapon but makes it unfair by intentially reducing the amount of dmg a weapon can do by using the incorrect power stone wtf?
Upgrading a aotd without a dragon fuse glove to a shadow fury. It's a great choice to make. I did double damage because I had gauntlet of contagion. It's a worth it weapon if you have money it will last a long time till probably a claymore unless u are Ironman. So yeah sf is good
This is where I'd argue that a Fel Sword + Contagion is still a better choice. You're paying only around 5M for the upgrade, you get contagion benefits, and you keep the same power you had before. Then you can spend the rest of your coins into more MP, instead of the SF which is far too pricey for what it is.
@@ModernSoldier I did not know bout that at the time and I logged in after 3 months so my minions made like 150m and I heard a lot about shadow fury and the supposed budget Hyperion if I had 1 more braincell I could have spent or MP
I think you should update the prices due to inflation, giant swords are now 280m claymores are 500+ and the new update will make all melee good for clearing. Other than that great cideo
This video aged....well, actually. Commenting here after the Dungeons Berserker update of 9/12/23, and honestly- reading comments here, just balanced your stats before even getting a giant's sword or similar.
What if I dropped the gs from f6, is it still worth it? Personally, I think my account is pretty balanced, and I’ve only spent around 35m coins (price for opening the chest + upgrades)
Happy to see this. Ppl been bullying my ironman for using aotd in f6 even tho i have a huge buff w e dragon and the glove. I can casually do f6 wo dying or struggling
In my eyes, the Shadow Fury does around 250k with maxed superior and no pet, whereas my aotd hit for 80k with a dragon fuse glove (300MP, SILKY) The only difference between my weapons and the videos would be the fact that my weapons have gemstones.
my livid dagger does around 50k front hit vs my sf which does 200k. Just keep in mind this isnt the pure damage, as all of these weapons would be doing significantly more with 1fa
something i do alot on my main is ice spray go behind livid dagger it does so much more damage then my shadow fury because of the 2.20x damage buff (assuming the livid dagger damage buff is multiplicative) and the 50 more attack speed is crazy and i melt bosses
Well u know, something funny is that my friend got an OFA giant sword, and my OFA livid dagger with like 350-400 mp did the same amount of damage. Now imagine if I had it. Then they nerfed OFA bcs enchanting level, so now I have to wait till tomorrow (one experimentation table thing away, dunno the cooldown time tho maybe like 3-5 hours before this, after the posting of this comment. Basically add the cooldown time minus 3-5 hours to the time of this comment to the time I re unlock OFA.
Mage progression is way more complicated than just melee progression, because the damage from abilities is buffed by the more mana you have so you also have to keep upgrading armor if you wanna do more damage

I was criminally offended when he completely ignored the Fel sword's actual purpose: BETTER DUNGEON HEALING
It causes both of the healer's already solid abilities to be easier to use, and makes healing circle make any healer nigh-on unkillable in the right situation. This makes any decent tank-healer combo completely invincible against even Maxor's frenzy (No pre-wish) or Storm's giga lightning (assuming both have enough EHP)
I also dislike that he discounted it because of the kill requirement. For non-ironman profiles, you can easily buy a fel sword with 8000+ kills on it at the auction house for ~ 1 or 2 million coins then kill one or two thousand mobs to max it which only takes a few hours at most.
the snowball that it shoots when heal circle is activated also does damage so its basically a ranged ability

*TLDR: Comparing weapons is more complicated than you think.*
very nice video, just wanted to make a few quick comments because there are some things you seemed to miss,
while yes aotd is very good, livid dagger is too, just not with the setup you where using it with. when used with a dps setup livid dagger will kill pretty much any mob really fast, faster than something like a shadow fury or even sometimes a giant sword, when paired with ferocity the attack speed from the livid dagger becomes far more impactful.
just for a little suggestion, when comparing weapons it is a good idea to at least try to make a setup epitomized for each individual weapon.
although with this you would also need to take into consideration the different playstyles that come with each weapon, for example with the livid dagger you could lean fully into the dps aspect and use a tiger pet and dirty reforge and put your talismans on bloody, or you could try to balance it so that you do a mix of dps and shd by going with a lion pet, suspicious reforge instead of tiger and dirty reforge, or someone could do what you did and simply not optimize their setup for the weapon they are using at all, and as you can see, that leads to very underwhelming results.
Similarly when you where talking about the aotd you also failed to mention the fact that it can also function as a mage weapon as well as a mele weapon
Another thing, with the gaints swords someone could instead of going with the standard shd setup one would normally use with giants sword, you could use somewhat of a hybrid dps/shd setup and use a lion/tiger pet with the sword on suspicious reforge and talismans on bloody.
Final Note: this is not even taking into consideration things like stars, recoms, hot potato books, enchants/ultimate enchants, which would not only increase the damage but could also either increase or decrease the gap in damage/dps between weapons, this is also not taking into consideration things like armor and equipment.
*TLDR: Comparing weapons is more complicated than you think.*
don't forget a 5 star livid dagger attack speed is buffed from 50% to 75% in dungeons

Thanks this was very helpful. Could you do a tier list of the overall weapons and armour?
Reaper Scythe is also a really solid choice imo. Only 23m for 333 dmg, also rev 7 is easy to reach.
Did you really just say 333 damage?
I mean, Hyperion before Term makes sense, except for the fact that it costs 3x as much. Can't afford that, so I got term lol
there used to be a time when term cost more than scrolled hype (so just get a time machine ez coins)
OFA is not even that bad. For certain weapons OFA does more dps then t6 enchants like SF and GS.
@@deaddollan6583generally what that's saying is even though hype is way more expensive, term has 2 uses: master mode dungeons and kuudra (and magma boss ig?) While hype is a full on necessity for kuudra (not for any individual person, but someone in the party has to have it), is by far the best weapon for anything crimson isle, is one of probably like 3 items in the game that can 1 shot a t4 sven which is very nice for grinding wolf 9 (the others are dark claymore with an extremely good setup, and 100m midas which is probably the correct choice), a really good weapon for tara slayer though you can get away with something like a fire veil, the best clearing weapon for later floors (spirit sceptre is better if you can one shot with it), the most convenient weapon for bestiary grinding though ss is still hypothetically better, and is nearly a necessity for lava fishing

i know im pretty late but this is one of the reasons i dont really blindly trust guides. Especially modernsoldiers without looking at other guides he is very biased
I do think it's worth it to buy a shadow fury around the ender dragon pet point, before or after it
Alternatively, you could go for the boquet of lies that recently got added
@@ModernSoldier okay fair point.
I use it as my main weapon as well :)
hypixel skyblock is a game where if you want an item or its upgrade, you dont think about IF you want to buy them but rather WHEN you should buy them
I believe the progression model should be aotd then livid dagger Listen you probably didnt know that attack speed gets boosted by stars in dungeons m,aking it actually 75 attack speed and the occasional backstabs and 100 cc makes it viable for tanks healers and makes it so if mid game players had problems with crit chance they could stop putting tunings to crit chance but instead damage and use more damage reforges.
So the final setup progression shoujld be
aotd
livid dagger
fot
fel sword
Juju/soul whip
Shadow fury
aots
Tbh if you rly want to rush floor 7, i would just use juju and play tank. Keep in mind tho that you will need some money to start and that it will probably take 1000+ runs to get hype and term.
I ain’t readin allat
@@ModernSoldierAlright, I will work on rounding my profile more, and I also am working on getting more stuff that will also help.
AOTD has req. When upgrade to dungeon weapon so Livid dagger is batter to unlock req. AOTD req. Is higher
AOTV is not meant for damage, it's used for teleporting more efficiently than an AOTE and many player using an AOTV probably have no intention to ever use it as a damage weapon. Apart from that this was a great, informative video that can be really helpful to early game players.
he was talking about the warped reforge dawg

The best upgrades are Frozen Blaze with a blaze pet, until you can afford an edrag, or necron with any dmg pet until you can afford an edrag. At that point, necron is the only viable set in dungeons for meele, and outside of dungeons its pretty much required to go hypemage and run kuudra for crimson
frozen blaze and blaze pet does similar dmg to edrag, making edrag completely pointless to buy
@@Ruby_Sky edrag gives more of other stats tho like magic find, speed, fero, etc
I won’t lie, I thought he said “Dirt Claymore” instead of “Dark Claymore” and was like “WHAT THE F- WHAT DID I MISS?!” 😂😂😂
As a fel sword enjoyer I see this as a win
i completed f5 when dugeons didnt have cata repuierments so i was at cata 7 with a livid dagger and my friend was very confused at how i can use it
Lololol :)
Didnt use any commas since too lazy but should be good enough
Did my other msg just despawn or smth? Heh i cant see it
In a nutshell this vid is bad progression 💀
Start gug till e drag
Instead e drag
Juju non
Then 500mp Hype Non
Then Term non
(Use f7 for money or do mining 😭)
@@Catseater69420 nah, your good man. I see all three messages
Another thing, unless you dungeonize your AOTD, a warp AOTE is better than AOTD in dmg.
Warped AOTE is expensive tho
@@Sirrandommakesstuff once u get a good minion set up or better yet kill zealots more fluently and have patience, itll be a fast process
@@germans_lol7259 No one might as well use warped aotv as by the time you have enough money for it, your previous weapon is stronger than the aotv
Edit: also he tested the warped aotv in another video so yeah it's pointless
@@Sirrandommakesstuff thats where u upgrade the AOTE into an AOTV bc it can warp through blocks or whatever idk how it works but its tp is way better so
@@germans_lol7259 People only use AOTE and AOTV only for the versatility and nothing else
I never really struggled because of my main weapon choice "Skytils >> Slayer took 168.6s to kill AND IT WAS A T2"
This was my first T2 completion, and I did it with no equipment, no pet, no flux, no summons, etc. When I was actually properly equipped for it I had reasonably timed bosses, and no, I never actually struggled. Sure the first comp took time (especially because of my restrictions), but that doesn't mean it was hard
update: bouquet of lies is also really good. and its a clearing weapon not just for the huge amount of damage it does.
some more proof that gab is a chad
1. he actually saw tons of confusion on the last video about superior and he cleared it up
2. he also saw that some people said the power stone was unfair and he also cleared that up as well
Just trying to be as accurate and as transparent as possible :)
@@ModernSoldier :)
1: how do you hide your armor? 2: where did you get those cosmetics?
I know this guide is directed towards low lvl players but when you hit a certain point giant sword just becomes so much better. I recently switched from sf to giant and saw a 200k damage increase.
While yes the fel sword is pretty cheap the one your were using has 10k kills on it wich makes it way more expensive ( it’s around 7-10m from what I’ve seen ) so it isn’t that good of an option considering it’s price, still a great video you make good content!
Edit : mb didn’t see the section about the fel sword …
i payed 1.3million for my 10k kill felsword
10k kils kinda easy to get if you dont wane pay tho
@@SLS4_YT damn didn’t know you could get it for this cheap
"high catacomb requirement"
Modern soldier biggest livid dagger hater and I love it!
AOTD gang rise up 😎
Right Modern lemme point this out to you, At 0:30 when you pop up the cata requirement on screen why do you choose to show the Cata 19 on the right where the Shadow Fury is and Cata 14 where the GS is.
I'd definitely just keep this until you can afford a term/necron blade, because you're not gonna need anything else until you reach that
modernsoldier the livid dagger was right for me because im low on mp and 100% crit chance is good and it gives more attack speed it alowed to solo f2 and shadow assassin armor is WORTH it sup can be good but sa and zombie knight chestplate is CHEAPER Livid dagger is right for me
You forgot to test the back hit of the Livid Dagger😮😮😮😮
It's honestly amazing how good the warped reforge is
Ironman progression is veryyyyy different to classic profile progression, so this is definitely some useful information. I rarely ever cover it because my audience is predominantly classic players, but it's good to see some extra insight on the info in this video
@@ModernSoldieryeah i agree, ironman progression is far different from normal not just in combat but for many things. I honestly don't know if i'll get lvl 360 or a hyp first
where's the raider axe at tho. not everyone be rushing dungeons or slayers. some gamers might just be grinding small grinds like zealots or treasure hoarders or goblins/ice walkers while doing commissions.
shadow fury my beloved. the ability alone is worth the 40-60m. one right-click and wabam, mob dies-- then wabam again two or three other mobs die. no aiming just one click. if there's a mob in crystal hollows behind some blocks, one click and wabam, you're put into the cave where the mob's at.
giant's sword right-click ability op for fishing at any stage of the game. also good for beefy, packed 1x1s with mage cooldown ability.
didn't realize that the glove made aotd strong enough to rival livid.
As someone with 1100 magical power, I cannot realistically be pumping more money into MP.
I think you should update the prices due to inflation, giant swords are now 280m claymores are 500+ and the new update will make all melee good for clearing. Other than that great cideo
you mean deflation??? giants swords are like 150mil now
@@TomkoWomko it changed now those were prices when i said that
This video aged....well, actually.
Can u do a mage progression guide?
Happy to see this. Ppl been bullying my ironman for using aotd in f6 even tho i have a huge buff w e dragon and the glove. I can casually do f6 wo dying or struggling
The livid dagger's life steal is crazy tho
? checked on the wiki and there is no additional life steal to the livid dagger compared to other weapons.
i would love an ironman friendly version where the next upgrades after aotd are realistic and not just things you buy off ah
In my eyes, the Shadow Fury does around 250k with maxed superior and no pet, whereas my aotd hit for 80k with a dragon fuse glove (300MP, SILKY) The only difference between my weapons and the videos would be the fact that my weapons have gemstones.
did you have one for all on shadow fury and normal enchants on aotd, because ofa makes a big difference
The true giant sword is the friends we made along the way it also looks swag 😎
I would of loved if you tested reaper scythe
my livid dagger does around 50k front hit vs my sf which does 200k.
So you have an Ice spray, a SF and a LD yet not a juju?
@@FoxofWallstreet ??? when did i say i didnt
@@bruhmomento63 Why don‘t you use it then? It‘s way more efficient than LD
@@FoxofWallstreet well i hopped that for being a berserker melee weapons are better but idk
Hey man i loved the video and i was wondering if ur maybe considering to do one for mage or something else?
Mage progression is way more complicated than just melee progression, because the damage from abilities is buffed by the more mana you have so you also have to keep upgrading armor if you wanna do more damage
Example: Hyperion with crystal armor would be trash, because it will do very low damage and would not be able to be spammed because of the less mana
