What do you think about this latest update? Time to get back into MK1212? Lot's of quality of life improvements here which tells me a bigger update is well on the way with the campaign map expansion, etc. But who knows of course. Let me know all your thoughts in the comments section below! And if you're going to check out the new update make sure to download the the new Model Pack Part 9 in the steam workshop!
It's still baffling to me that modders are putting more work into a medieval Total War than CA is doing. If only CA knew how much the historical community would appreciate a Medieval 3...
CA just lost 160 employees apparently so they’re not in a position to do much quickly. Legend of total war just posted a video going over their troubles. Looks like we might be getting Warhammer 40k total war, a 19th century full world total war, and then medieval 3
@@breaden4381a 19th century world map game would be awesome, I think that’s the next step for Total war, just imagine a Medieval 3 with a global map like the one in Warhammer 3
CA would just fuck it up anyways and that would be even if they hadn't just had a major layoff 😂 now the entire CA team that's left couldnt even change a fluorescent light bulb in their studio!
@@breaden4381
Oh please! CA IS GREEDY.... Warhammer fans are brainless consumerists... do the math. Old school total war is dead my guy. They could make Empire 2 in like 5 months if they REALLY wanted to. They don't. They want to make more content for the people who willingly spend 30 for 16 units, half of which are just existing units with color changes. Don't make excuses for CA, they're a bad company with a bad fanbase.
There are alternatives. Play them.
@@spiffygonzales5160the fact that there was an efficient boycott and massive outrage over the last warhammer dlc disproves your first statement. Also hating warhammer fans instead of hating ca or even better hating Sega's shareholders, is really dumb. Both historical and warhammer fans deserve better
It's good to see the mod isnt dead
Forget medieval 3, I will die before it gets ever released.. This is our Medieval 3!
😂 same haha
1212 is hero for me in darkest time when a lot of my fav go die
1212 lives rent free in my hard drive. It's that old friend that eons could pass and when we meet again it's like it was only yesterday.
Same man. I've a total of 1800+ hour playing 1212. I forgot when was the last time i play the vanilla attila. I think only less than 10 hour. Cause the huns always crush me in open battle, its too hard.
can't wait for new map update...
I was literally starting up a new Nicea campaign a few days ago, and I was initially ticked off when I lost my save after 40+ turns, then realized it was because of an update. 😝
Awesome mod, really excited to dig into it for this new update.
How are you finding it? I've always initially enjoyed Nicaea campaigns but they very quickly became boring as it felt like the AI never sent armies my way, I was just rolling over settlement after settlement with ease.
@@greysson2933 isn't it the case with any nation really? And any total war game in general since rome 2?
@@Iskandr314 The campaign AI was definitely more aggressive in Rome 2 and Attila than in the mod. Frequent invasions, attacks etc, vs not much of anything happening in the mod.
@@greysson2933 Stop playing new player factions then m8 if that truly is the issue. Play as Jerusalem or maybe go on the crusades. Theres literally 100s of events that take place sounds like you are choosing to not be involved? Plus keep in mind everyone is at war with each other no one is focused on you and 40 turns isnt even that far into a campaign thats like an hour for me lmao thats maybe one crusade and not time for the Huns to invade. Keep grinding tho fam you are still very early game… theres constant attacks and invasions you’re playing Easy start difficulty kingdoms try a faction with a challenge? Add brans ai mod
@@greysson2933plus playing without Brans Battle AI mod for 1212 is criminal. Literal things that fix the issues u ppl cry about
You just quickly went over one of the largest unit changes, the Pike Wall change. I don't know how much you used the Brabantines or Swiss, but the cone in front of them was like...50% larger than it would be in what is essentially a phalanx. 3 units in a pike wall could kill men in like 5 or 6 enemy units with just a tiny convex. Depending on the cone nerf, that could be disastrous for my primary strategy with them! Woe is me.
Just use Brans Battle Ai sub mod and you will still be able to kill like before.
The updated animations are a really nice touch. For me this was what always bugged me previously with 1212AD, particularly the crossbow animations, but now units feel almost like they have more weight to them I’m more immersed in the Medieval setting. Also, the Latin Empire roster is really nice on the visual front! Well done 1212 Team.
Nice to see things are coming along. Very excited for a Late campaign at some point! Fair play to the devs putting in this work in their own free time.
Glad they’re doing more work on it. Was interesting to me that the update kinda came randomly with no real announcement. Played a bit and the campaign seems more well refined, AI is more aggressive than in past which is a step in the right direction, hope the map updates release soon.
I was so excited when I saw the video recommended for me because I thought the campaign map change was finally here. But it'll probably be another year ;_;
Sometimes, a unit disappear.
I am at peace for long, my armies are chilling, all of them are 20/20 unit and randomly a unit of lancer just "disappear".
Is this a bug?
@@MsSirAndy
I think it is
@@afisto6647 Same, I've noticed that when you replace a general in the army, there's a 50/50 chance that one of your units might disapear
This isnt new, its been a thing in this mod for over 2 years now. Always happens to me, and its always a fancy expensive noble unit for some reason
Bloody hell finally. Was starting to think they'd given up.
No, they just bit more than they can chew.
(that was a quote)
god i hope we see navies soon
Same bro. One day we’ll see tier 3 cannon ships 😭😭
Loved this update!! At first i was pissed because i had to restart my campaign but completely worth it! Excellent work and excellent job with your broadcast man!!
Great informative video, also extra points for "The last of the Mohicans" soundtrack, top 3 movie of all time.
Also notice it!)
It's also the main music theme of Medieval 2 Stainless Steel mod 😉
Nice to see so many devoted modders working on an old game. Love your vids
The 1212 team have been doing such great work, definitely looking forward to seeing Austria’s T3 roster
HOW IS THERE STILL NO NAVY
The music in the background causes me to go into a frenzy....I don't know why but I think of my father and myself in combat, just like where this song came from, "The Last of the Mohicans"! I love this song so much. It is amazing how certain scores can have such a massive impact on one's psyche.
Anyway, love your stuff and so glad i found this video as I am tired of what I was playing and just started looking into medieval mods for Rome II and Atilla. I will see if there are any LOTR mods for those two as well. Thanks again.
Good stuff ! 🙂
Still no naval units though?
The seas are very empty without 'em.
And not so importent right now
@@kingmarre9130I feel like it’s more important than the map editing tho
Requires new ship models, no modellers = no ships
@@dsr_2443
Doesn't the base game have ships?
If so, why not use/modify them?
There are ships in Rome 2 for example.
@@ddjay1363 because they don’t want 700 year old warships and certainly not 1000 year old ones…
its good but they didnt tackle one of the biggest problems of their mod and that is the fact that AI recruits so manu range units for their armies as you progress on the campaign
Its good that this update finally arrived. However, it does not change a lot. We will see if the ai is now aggressive enough. the HRE is still basically unplayable.
They said that until the map expansion is finished which is harder than they thought, the Vanilla Attila map has to be enough.
->I hope that the map expansion comes 2026...
I play HRE and it works just fine? I’ve already passed half the imperial reforms.
There's a bug that prevents your kingdom from becoming an empire despite fulfilling all the requirements. It also happens when you have a duchy and want it to become a kingdom. Hope this has been fixed.
Unlike the true old guards, Attila was my first Total War, and still is my favorite Total War.
I guess I'm almost a decade old TW fan now.
People playing the mod since the update - how've you found the campaign AI to be now? I would always get bored of the game becaue it felt like the AI never attacked me, or if it did it was so rare I've forgotten about them, and it just became a boring game of me taking city after city.
Is the AI finally aggressive?
How many years if ever before we get sea battles…
Mines crashing when i end the first turn 😢
This is all great, but when will they be adding naval capabilities? It is something that detracts from the campaign experience in my eyes.
Very cool. It's been a long time since I played, but I remember it being very dull in Europe because all the Catholic factions had very positive relations with each other whilst I was playing. Would be cool to see if they've tweaked the diplomacy at all
Yes, finally a sweet delicious update!
The amount of money CA will make if they properly implement Medieval 3…
It would be better if they made fortresses like in Medival 2. Even with this mod, I feel like I'm not playing in the Middle Ages, but in the era of late Rome. The mod is good, but there are few cities and fortresses, the architecture looks ancient. In general, the game engine was created more for antiquity than for the Middle Ages. We are waiting for the remastered version of Medieval 2, at least there will be a real Middle Ages there.
dumbest take ever
Perhaps it could be done one day but would be very difficult to do I think. Like changing the battle map for the castle tiers for multilayered defenses and such. I think the city’s now after the updates look pretty damn good, but could be better
Med2 remastered is coming, matter of time before they announce it. 2024-2025 release or 2026 at the latest
@@kingmarre9130 I just wrote my opinion, your toxic attacks do not interest me...
Yeah your opinion but a dumb one. You do know modding is not so easy and they do it on there free time. Nothing toxic here just defending the modders@@Sigma_man_88
Oh my god....why didnt I get a notification for this?! Brilliant news!
I love this mod but only having summer and winter and taking massive attrition kills it for me i cant play it till they fix it. If there is a submod i can use to fix this please let me know
really hope that they´ll eventually fix the AI attacks, bcs more than anything it tends to blob before walls and attack in somenonse way. But hopefully i can hop intom multipayer now when main menu has been fixed. Anyways this mod is great and much respect for modders who did that... You guys are best, I had been waiting for this since medieval 2.
Have they released new settlement and castle maps yet, I’ll probably only return when they
They’ve been out for a few months now, but so far only for the Western factions of the campaign map.
Did they fixed embedding agents into armies?
so no naval battle yet?
Still no 4 turns per year
Good news, but I still don‘t konw when the map expansion can be finished.
Model pack 9 has completely ruined Any Chance at playing with any other unit mods you may have. It will crash and now seems like If you decide to not Use their new model pack then the game will just crash.
So Disable all your other mods pretty much or You can’t seem to play the game at all
I am wondering why they removed Eldigizids? As an Azerbaijani guy I was playing as them. Such a sham
I have just given up on these old games, i just want a medieval 3 or empire 2 now 😢
Well your not getting one so enjoy this mod
@@PW-zs2yx you're*
They still couldnt be bothered to write faction descriptions I see.
I cant believeit. They added couched lances!
I have read lots of complaints against the too passive AI. Has this been changed?
Still no changes to the Italian unit roster which is lacking units and proper models. No naval. Agents still limited.
Are they finally going to update the Roman factions and get rid of the "restore Byzantine Empire" option when you re-take Constantinople? For a mod that boast for being historically accurate they throw that all out he window by keeping the term "Byzantine" in their mod. Be nice for them to get away from the fantasy realm and back to actual history. Great mod outside of the misnaming of the Roman Empire. They have a chance to really set themselves apart from the rest of the people clinging on to a false name. Guess some people can't shake their public education.
This is just amazing!!!
Why doesn't CA just release the tools and the codes and go home and let the community take over and msje a better game for free or at least cheaper snd much much better
Is there a new load order needed for the recent updates? Trying to play this mod/campaign for the first time and I can’t get past the red Attila loading screen. Followed a video showing the order you need from a few years ago but idk what to do 😭
same....
The amounts of the work this moders are pouring on this is insane. This can easily be a standalone game, just brilliant.
Thanks to all the team working on this beast of a mod. Just brilliant.
What is your guys' take on the single settlement with limited building slots system? It's an absolute deal breaker for me but it might just be a skill issue
The slots can be expanded though?
@@TheTerminatorGaming Actually I messed up. What I meant is the limited building spots along with the one-city regions. I felt it kinda forced me to build pretty much the same setup everywhere until expansion is available or I'd get a revolt/plague/etc
Developers need to create city architecture. This is especially true for Kievan Rus; eastern and western Europe have the same architecture, and it doesn’t look very good. It would be cool if they added a new map + new architecture, but the mod has a great future, the main thing is that it continues to be improved.
One thing at a time. They make this mod on there free time
Good to see an update. Though I think it’s not a really big update. More like a big hotfix patch.
I dunno man, they added a fair few new unit animations and some roster overhauls, not huge but certainly some new content.
sadly for so long of a wait the cnages seen kinda little been waiting for navy/republic changes and also the new campaing its been a year and a half
Great now the sub mods for the realistic units, ranged and cavalry overhauls don't work I have to wait for an update
Yeah I found this out the hard way too - looks like they’re all updated now aside from the infantry overhaul.
Ok guys I have an impossible challenge, survive as the khwarazmian empire on legendary difficulty.
WHEN NEW MAP??!
I have such mixed feelings about this mod, on one hand it's one of the best total war mods out there adding tons of unique factions and units but some of the choices made by the modders are just awful. The Public order, single city provinces, ridiculously long research time and fatigue just piss me off and requires sub mods to make it fun, also holy crap it's been 4 years add naval units
Whats the real problem with ''ridiculously long research time''??? Just build 5-10 universities and you are with 250-400% Reasearch rate. You can even get to 900% if you got the free frood for it. The single city provinces are a must for a time period. its not like in the time of the Roman empire and the greeks you had them where you needed them. Public order can be somewhat made easier moving from 186 regions to 255 with the future expanded map.
How about updates for papal elections/HRE ? It stills buggy ASF
The whole mongol empire should be added to 1212ad
It would have been nice but I can't seem to get the mod to work. Crashes on startup, correct mod loader, no submods or other mods either :(
Weird! Maybe ask the modders in the discord?
@@TheTerminatorGamingit works now, the new load order was to replace a typo which neglected one of the mods listed
@@amnesia9231 Hey i cant get IT Work. Vanilla Install and i only subbed this Mod No submods or anything. What did you do exactly? Im dying to Play the Mod 😭😭😭
Time to get back to 1212 as the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum.
The infidels army shall not survive !!!
Love the update but I was hoping for some tier 1 naval units atleast
So I've downloaded this this weekend. Have all the mods in the correct order. It crashes as soon as i go into prologe or just go to the campaign. I the start screen says the load order is incorrect, but i have it in the correct load order. I see other people having the same issues. Any ideas?
1212ad is a masterpiece !! Magnificent !!
The question is did they nerf shock infantry?
have they added navy or not yet?
Does anyone know when they gonna add f ing navies😭🙏
Any news on naval units? That is a bummer not having any. Wish I knew how to make mods so I could pitch it instead of a whiney user lol
The Mod is Not working... I dont know how to get IT to Work. Downloaded Base Mod all parts etc loading preferences AS IT should Game Starts but Error Message.no campaign Button and Missing Info on all Units and traits. Dont know what i do wrong. Have you figured it out? I have same problem

@@jkbkp9592 ITS pretty dope Bro. If you have rome 2. Wish you the best 😎
I've been playing this recently as Bohemia and I was wondering if it is possible to secede from the HRE. If it is, could someone let me know what I need to do?
I hope CA will make an announcement about new medieval game till next update of atilla released 😂😂😂
Just added the new models pack to the game and it keeps informing me of the wrong order (I have exactly the right order, that is in the description) and after I start new campaign, I can see only cursor and black screen, while hearing the sounds when you are on campaign map. Anyone having this issue??
Same! I still play through it. But I’m not sure if anything has even changed 😂
@@armenrastgouian2988 you are lucky, I cant get past loading campaign map blackscreen.
So, the HRE features, that dont work (like leaving HRE) are not adressed in this one? Sad. Its quite hard to play as any HRE faction with these not working or being ridiculously harsh (like unlawfull territory - there were many ways how to make conquest in HRE lawfully in those times).
i just want a playable novguard in the campaing
What campaign AI submod do you use? I love your total war videos but it's to hard to get back into the older games due to the clunky AI. Thanks 🙏🏻
Bran Mac Born mods :)
Dumd issue but it bug me a lot...
Two diferent unit with exactly the same gear model, armor weapon etc have drasticly diferent stats in game, or unit with armored model but no armor stats
what happened to naval battle?
No news yet :/
Did they fix the very unstable coop/multiplayer campaigns who used to crash very often?
Im happy for the update the only issue i have is that me and my friend arent able to play in multiplayer due to it having a “different game version” so if someone can help me then me and my friend can be able to play together
I still cant believe scotland still gets no love at all😢
my saves are broken :/ i lost my 300 turn game
Can anyone explain the way of recruiting units? I know you recruit your units out of a pool of people, but there is difference in peoples you can recruit? Nobles, Burghers etc? Would love it if someone can properly explain it :)
Could you do a showcase for the new units?
Anyone knows what happen to the mod? It's said outdated, cant play the camp. Plz Help!
Is there any well working submod for 12 or 4 turns per year?
How is Naval combat in this mod? I always found large naval battles to more unwieldy than land battles.
Termi, which AI submod do you typically use for 1212AD?
New Teutonic king look's plain, but cool. Love the other new looks though. 👍
They should make their own game , they got good skills though
Been out of the loop with this mod for some time now. Does anyone know how the HRE mechanics are functioning right now?
Does anyone know if there's a standalone version for non steam versions?
It killed my awesome burgundy campaign safegame unfortunatly. 😂
The AI is way too passive. That’s my only complaint with the mod. Everything else is great
When is the late 1338 will come out ?
But now can we start a new campaign with the late period?
I think this latest update is really amazing! 10/10
Do you agree guys?
