I Think for Bach there are 2 pianists able to play on piano as lightness, baroque ornaments and staccato like an harpsichord sound: Glenn Gould and Marcelle Meyer. Stay in our memory!
...Yes and Marcelle ...perhaps... even surpasses Gould in heavenliness....It is hard to imagine the breadth of her expressive depth of knowledge. She does the early twentieth century with Milhaud, late Romantic period, and mid classic period Chopin... etc each flawlessly. Why is it?... with her Bach especially,.. the notes seem to have tiny spaces in front of them?... rather than behind? the notes just glide in like they are floating on little clouds.
Dan, How at Your age, do You come up with such fine insights? I wish You a beautiful future in music! I see You are an enthusiast of Flute and recorder, and Gould. Yes we keep them in our memories. Gould, and Marcelle Meyer, and so many others...even many young musicians who are Your age or just a little older. May God bless You. And You Tube can be a beautiful thing when knows how to find treasure! and not get drawn into too many deceits. thanks for Your links to Gould videos.
