So I was the winner of the Perfect Circuit giveaway. I am a sequencer junkie and have owned many desired sequencers over the years, and for full disclosure finally purchased a Cirklon at the end of 2022 after nearly 5 years on the waiting list. So I have a few options at hand and sort of a dedicated sequencing setup I thought I’d settled on…but I’ve never won anything, and love creative sequencers more than anything. The T-1 arrived today, and as much as I love all the other sequencers at my disposal I can already tell it offers so many new things in such an intuitive and inspiring way…I feel like this might be exactly the tool I need as I have been coming out of a creative rut, having only had a few hours with it and watching this video again now that I’ve used it, lots of stuff I’ve wished for in the past intuitively applied and a wealth of inspirational starting points…Already have a couple ideas for a new project, and look forward to maybe talking more with you about the T-1 in the future. I cannot thank you and Perfect Circuit enough ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@soundswhile9529 I love it. I feel like it’s a nice compliment to the Cirklon actually…Cirklon is deep and rewards intent. T-1 is amazing if you just “wanna get on your bike and go”. Especially for techno, it’s nothing but fun and inspiring. That doesn’t mean it’s simple or anything, just immediate and designed in a way that the limitations force creativity, and it has a few unique approaches that I’ve not seen elsewhere that further inspire creative approaches.
Got mine today. I wasn't a user yet but I needed a new sequencer and I remembered you had videos with it. man, I'm so stoked this firmware came out. I'm able to mix the euclidian with more typical sequencing with the per note sequencing. I think it's cool when It doesn't sound like ''euclidian'' rhythms necessarily. I feel the way parameters control is implemented is a bit like when you use lfos with a quantizer in modular.I do arps like this sometimes. At first, I was confused though, all the different colors! You really need to read the manual for this one. But once you grok it, it all makes sense.
thank you so much for this video. It's a very special controller. I own one and it's still here after all these months. For rhythms I think it's amazing... no brainer for me. But it also can do more things now !
Great video and some very useful tips as usual, thank you! Awaiting my T-1 next week and planning to pair it with Machinerum and Monomachine for some glitchy / ambient / idm-ish experiments...
How is it working with receiving MIDI? For example, if I send MIDI notes from a different source, e.g. a melody coming from laptop or MPC - can T-1 pick up those MIDI notes and manipulate them?
I don't know a lot about sequencers and am looking for one to do some sequencing on my hardware synths such as barp 2600 , future modular 5u, ms-20... Any advice would be welcome guys. Thank you for this video by the way, I like the algorithm in it, it makes this sequencer come alive.
@@Broodje-xxx ?? now I'm confused, is it possible yes or no? I don't mean processing notes that come in the T-1, but sending midi notes out, like you would when playing a normal midi keyboard
I have a question, I saw you can set scale, like minor scale. But minor scale is not equal to minor scale. We have natural minor, harmonic minor, dorian, you named it….is T1 able to work with all the different minor and major scale?
Hey, As a keyboardist interested in venturing into live electronic music, I currently own a Digitakt and a few Roland Boutique synths. I've come across many positive reviews of the Torso, and after seeing your review, I'm convinced it's a fantastic piece of equipment. However, considering my setup and the fact that I'm just starting out on this journey, do you think it would be a wise investment?
One thing I’ve found when pairing these two is muting is strange. Muting on the torso doesn’t seem to do anything and muting on the syntakt too when it’s being sequenced from the torso. I had to mute on both to get the sounds to stop. Any ideas? Great vid, great pairing!
Interesting... I can see how this workflow would work for some, but it looks tedious to me. Seems inferior to a traditional step sequencer even though you can now use it that way. The lack of a screen to see what values you are editing is a huge problem.
I have a deluge, it is very powerful, but would not get it today at the current price... the new screen does not add much over the og led display imo. The internal synths are usable, better than you would think, but not the best to finish a polished track with. Its best as a sketch pad or sequencer for external synths. I had a squarp pyramid; that was the most sophisticated hardware midi sequencer I have ever used. Bodes well for hapax... though you have to acknowledge a computer is always going to be better to edit midi, may be worse for generating ideas

So happy you are loving it! I played too with many sequencers, but this one is definitely special. Congratulations!!!
what are your thoughts after 4 months? looks amazing for live techno and i’m also on the cirklon list 😅

While it definitely is an interesting sequencer, and I can see the potential - I haven't heard a single good demo of it being used anywhere on youtube

Hi. Thanks a lot for your videos. recently got a T1 and I'm in love with it. I agree it's a wonderful instrument.
Great to hear!
This is the first good explanation of Cycles I've seen. Well done! Got one coming in the mail tomorrow!
Have fun!
So much fun using the Syntakt like that!!!
yep!
thank you for this! I think the new manual is great but seeing some of these new features visually is such a help
I hear you :)

yes definitely this one needs some time. It rewards you immensely.
How are you liking it a year later?

agreed!!
This tutorial is just what i needed, theirs so few good tutorials for the T1!
Thanks!

exactly what i was looking for! thank u 🙏🏼

This is a great video/update. I wasn’t totally getting on with the algorithmic melody generation so this looks perfect!
Great to hear!
Thanks for this! Really insightful
Glad you enjoyed it!
tolles update. tolles video
thanks!

Great tutorial 🎉 hope to see new features w modulars
Soon!
Really helpful. Cheers!
Glad to hear it!
hi there! Have you been able to send pattern changes from the T1 to the Syntakt?
Everyone needs to admit, this thing kicks your butt with complexity….
in a good or bad way?
Can anyone explain how to assign a 30% probabilty to a simgle step in per-step mode?
Great sequencer. Have you a video with T1 and Daw or Vst slate & ash ?
coming soon!
Absolutely loving your videos dude! So inspirational:) I have a question regarding the T1. Could it sequence the subharmonicon for longer sequences?
I don't have the sub anymore but I dont see why not!
@@OoraMusic thanks matey. 😊😊
Did you try it?
Did you had any Problems with humming and noise when the T1 is connected to modular and to the computer with usb at the same time?
never noticed!

The t1 is great for explorations and happy accidents. I love the way is thought.
Last question: can you also use the t-1 as a midi keyboard in the sense that you can play notes live?
no that is not possible
Yes it is on 2.0 with Fx track 🙂
@@Broodje-xxx ?? now I'm confused, is it possible yes or no? I don't mean processing notes that come in the T-1, but sending midi notes out, like you would when playing a normal midi keyboard
Possible. See chapter 8.12 of new T-1 manual 😊
Yes, you can play notes live on the T-1 in the pitch view when using the fx tracks.
made me love this even more. Between this and SIG its close but t1 is much more playable.
:)

you can create 2 user custom scale!
amazing!!!

I replied on another video!
Ma la mia domanda è riesci a fare scritture sincooate con il torso ?
puoi farle si, ci vuole un po' di pratica!
interesting... so, can you sequence parameter locks on the syntakt at the same time while the midi sequence is running? trigless trigs i guess?
yes and things can get really interesting

weird , not sure why!
If you have to choose one, Oxi One or Torso T1?
Oxi as only sequencer
@@OoraMusic Matriceal & Euclidean ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very cool. How is the torso connectet to syntakt? I dont see the TE usb c cable go into it?
that is for the power, I use a tar to midi cable!
Is it possible to create a sequence on the T1 and then save it on the Syntakt?
if you press rec and play yes!
@@OoraMusic oh wow that’s very cool! You can basically create very cool things in the T-1 and then store it on the Sytakt 😄
Wow credo lo comprerò...
How long have you had the Tattoo of the Lobster
8 years

Yep, it’s one reason I’d go the Oxi-one, or the more expensive Hapax instead
@@martindu4 yeah or that, but I prefer one of the two I listed
