    Here’s some of my favorite things about the Torso T-1 live performance sequencer. I’ve been using this for a few months now and it has blown me away and inspired so many new possibilities.
    In this video I explain a few of my favorite features and do a few demos. Things like the MIDI sequencing, Euclidean Rhythms, snapshots, midi cc control, midi looping, control all, rolls & fills, making chord progressions and melodies and much more.
    If you have any questions, let me know and I’ll make more videos to explain them 🎛️🎉🔊

    Imagine these 3 in one box. The gear saga will never stop. It’s always going to be this way ; wishing for box #1 have a few features of box #2, syntakt to have a fat poly track, Roland to have a better sequencer more voices , torso with sound module… I thought deluge would be that box, but no …then you hit other limit/paradigm,such as “jack of all trades” so gear heads….shut up and get more gear, wishing for the oracle dream box would come …one day 😂

    • @AnalogSolmusic
      @AnalogSolmusic  2 місяці тому +2

      😅 I know what you mean. But I don’t think the perfect all in one box will ever exist. I kind like using 3-4 boxes tho. Then you get more hands on controls. And you can design your setup for what you need.

      Great showcase of T-1! You also make everything sound so musical which definitely helps.
      One of the favourite things about T-1 is Turing machine-like looped randomness implementation, which means within seconds you can get randomness which is looped, just like you want it for electronic music. You should also try out cycles. That really add another layer to the tracks.
      Btw, what exactly did you do at 15:32? You mentioned looped midi but I didn't really catch it. Are you playing with length knob on the midi cc track?

    Oh man, I was just searching for some deep dive on your setup after seeing a couple of posts on your IG, and this video came up!
    Love your style, and although I have a mighty Hapax sequencing a bunch of stuff, I now HAVE to buy the T-1 as well.
    I remember when it came out, and wasn't particularly inspired by it, but I guess it came a long way since then, and now it seems to be exactly the sequencer I dream of to play some improvised melodic stuff, at least seeing what it can do when played by proper hands, like yours here.
    The truly magic of it to me is that it can manage melodic progressions so easily, without the need to preprogrammed stuff behind him, like on a normal step sequencer.
    And then there's a ton of cool features, more live playing oriented than most other stuff around.
    Thanks for the workflow breakout, keep grooving!

    • @AnalogSolmusic
      @AnalogSolmusic  5 місяців тому +3

      Thanks! Glad you liked it. Yes it’s great for melodic progressions, changes, variations, fills and more. It’s fun to get the initial groove going but then even more fun to improvise with it. Really feels like you are playing an instrument and expressing yourself. Where as sometimes other sequencers feel like you are but stuck with what you have written and it’s hard to quickly change it in the moment

    • @AnalogSolmusic
      @AnalogSolmusic  5 місяців тому +3

      Thanks! I was too before i picked Torso. I haven’t used Oxi but I watched a lot of videos.
      Some of the main reasons i picked Torso were the Mute and Temp options. As far as i can tell, Oxi can’t do that. Those features are super important to me for live improvised performance. I show them in this video
      Also the torso has more knobs, and no menu diving. And a bunch more. I’m super happy with my decision.
      But, if you are mostly writing in the studio, then the Oxi is totally fine. And depending on the way you perform live, it might be great for that too. Many people do use it.

    • @PantaFlux
      @PantaFlux 5 місяців тому +5

      I have them both and they are very different beasts. The OXI One is a full blown sequencer plus generative and probability functions that I personally find easier to get a hold on. To me the T-1 leans more towards the performance and experimentation side.

    • @PantaFlux
      @PantaFlux 5 місяців тому +1
