Just picked one up and I'm looking for ways to integrate Maschine in place of the other boxes you have. I tend to use Maschine to get the ideas going. But would love to be able to use Torso for more control on the fly without programming sequences, but rather trigger pads on Maschine. Thanks a ton for the enthusiastic walk through. Love seeing people having fun with the tools they bring into their workflow.
I also LOVE the T1 so much I bought two before it was released. Thank you for sharing your expertise, very generous of you, especially for a guy like me that has limited time to study the manual in depth (I'm a gallery Director). I will watch your in-depth video with great interest. If there's any other tutorials you can suggest, I would appreciate you let me know. Again many thanks!
I've got a bad sequencer habit and Torso T1 has been on my wish list since it was announced. Hope to get hold of one in the future. It is beautifully designed.
T1 was my personal solution to tired XoX hardware sequencing (along with Elektron sequencer). Inspiration device. Something to take you out of the norm, and/or the repetition of your usual process. When fellow producers ask what it’s like, the only thought I have is a Michelangelo quote: “In every block of marble I see a statue as plain as though it stood before me, shaped and perfect in attitude and action. I have only to hew away the rough walls that imprison the lovely apparition to reveal it to the other eyes as mine see it.”. It’s a unique device. It will do as you command. It will also take you to new ideas you never considered. Sometimes it has you reverse engineering your ideas to make it come to fruition. It’s a refreshing take on music production ❤
I've been so tempted to get this sequencer, since the moment I discovered it. It's a thing of beauty. And if it's super easy to use, then that's great, as I'm new to the world of sequencing. I was looking at the OP-Z, but production quality issues (I've returned two so far, due to being faulty on arrival), and am now debating whether to buy a third one, in the hope of a good one, or to just go straight for the Torso T-1.
so just to be clear, I can use one of the 16 tracks to sequence midi cc to the parameters of a hardware synth?? i think this is the sequencer right here
The design is beautiful. However, that also makes it difficult to use if you don’t use it frequently, there are many button combo’s to remember….(i had one)
Hey, As a keyboardist interested in venturing into live electronic music, I currently own a Digitakt and a few Roland Boutique synths. I've come across many positive reviews of the Torso, and after seeing your review, I'm convinced it's a fantastic piece of equipment. However, considering my setup and the fact that I'm just starting out on this journey, do you think it would be a wise investment?
I always say: get the oxi first, the t1 later. Both have different workflows and strength, oxi being more versatile, T1 more inclined to amazing happy accidents.
Ciao Federico, una domanda: la randomizzazione può essere applicata per traccia o è sempre shared tra tutte le tracce? Tipo se voglio randomizzare pitch di traccia 1 le altre restano cosi come sono oppure vengono randomizzate anche esse?
Top of my list is easily the Cirklonm which I would love to have after borrowing a friends (you really must try one) and the Octatrack - but this looks fun. Would be interested in a review of the Electra One midi controller if you get round to it. Thanks again, boss.
I chose the NDLR over the T1 but really ended up regretting it, would be great to grab one and use it in the future. I find that it is far more generative.
@@OoraMusic I'd say wanna trade but I don't think you'd want to let go of that T1. I have a few jams on my channel if you want to see how it works and how I've used it.
Had it twice...menu diving was a real turn off especially without a screen. Tried the Pyramid as well which was OK and the NDLR too...have landed on the Hapax. More expensive but a keeper
its a big topic. For example, if you play the piano, who made the sound? the piano maker? It is a definitely interesting conversation, which can sparkle many interesting ideas!
@@OoraMusic I think you reversed the argument: if you play the piano, the patterns and melodies are defined and spawned from our creativity, not the sound of the piano and or an random algorithm from a sequencer. I think both are okay but I prefer my ‘own’ melodies & my ‘own’ sound design (albeit inspired by other musicians).

Cool man.
Can you use the T-1 with samples on your computer?
Definitely! It is a midi sequencer with usb and cv/gate so you can pretty much put notes out to anything.

perfect way to describe it
Great video as usual. Agree entirely as one of the first Kickstarter backers of the Torso T1. You so easily just get lost in time when using it.
I'd love to hear your thoughts about the T1 and the Oxi One. I know tehy're different but they have similarities and both are small and portable.
Me too. I'm trying to figure out which of the two to go with.

Super useful.
Thank you.
Badass! I've been wanting the t1 for so long. 🤞
:)
What is the Bank of rotary knobs on the left?

correct!
Hi, can you export / send the midi to a DAW?
no, but you can record the midi in a daw
The design is beautiful. However, that also makes it difficult to use if you don’t use it frequently, there are many button combo’s to remember….(i had one)
I feel most of the sequencer are like that.think of octatrack :D
@@OoraMusic true! unfortunately haha!
I wonder how it compares to to the squarp pyramid.
And the Oxi One...

I replied on another video!
Um... Syntrix II!!!! I've been drooling over that since announcement
so good!
Oora how do you compare the oxi one against the t1. What do you think about each is it worth to have both or only one of them.
I always say: get the oxi first, the t1 later. Both have different workflows and strength, oxi being more versatile, T1 more inclined to amazing happy accidents.

I will get a cirklon sooner or later!
I just got my second Cirklon delivered last week after almost three years on the wait list. I agree there's nothing like it.

Id like to try the ndlr!

@@KarlClarkeMusicThe NDLR bored me quick. It just always sounded the same.
BeatStep-Pro?
nice one too, not my cup of tea
So good he's giving it away.
right, what a weirdo.
This man deserves more likes.. i think unfortunately he is for AC Milan.. that must be the reason
What is the controller next to it?
Next to the Syntrix is a Waldorf Iridium. It's a synth.
it is the shik n32 b, really nice
OoraMusic, Thanks for the controller info! 🙏🏾

What is that mousepad Controller thing? Cool!!
just an apple trackpad
@@OoraMusic ouh🙈 thx

@@OoraMusic I know, I was just disappointed 😁
Keep up the good work, love the channel 👌🏻
At first I was excited to finally see a give away on a non-american channel!! And then… 😞
Sounds awesome !
thanks Derek
super interesting...damn, now I want one too.
Why You own all Synthesizer that exists?
just dont tell my wife
Originally I was choosing between OXI and T1 and I bought OXI 😅 But I want torso despite owning a OXI.
you NEED both :D
I can imagine the T1 controlling the Perfourmer would be great
it is!
Had it twice...menu diving was a real turn off especially without a screen. Tried the Pyramid as well which was OK and the NDLR too...have landed on the Hapax. More expensive but a keeper
Have you not tried the Oxi one ?
I have not...toyed with the idea but went the Squarp route instead
Love my T1 too 👌🏻
:)
Favorite ever? I thought that was the oxi.
one of! my top 3 octatrack oxi and t1
@@OoraMusic I'd love a short comparison video of the two, OXI and T1.
The thing about generative music (for me) it’s not satisfying because the melodies are not “mine”, only the sounds are.
