2:00 Oh no. It has Pac-Man Fever mechanics. 2:40 Thwomp's boards in MP4 used that idea, though you could argue that it was hampered by being MP4. 16:50 If you want to be technical, I'm pretty sure some SMB3 guides considered it a mole-like turtle due to the shell. Nintendo were generous with the concept of a 'turtle' in those days.
Finally, back to the party. This is actually my favorite board! Seems to be the mythical Fan-Favorite as well. I think this is the one board that actually benefits from Jamboree's asinine economy, because the whole board encourages you to spend, spend, spend. 16:24 Well, the funny thing is... it IS a boss game. Jamboree has a little solo mode thing that's basically just Minigame Island with extra steps, and at the end of every board, you fight a boss! As you saw, you can still get them in party mode as a VS minigame. The 5 new boards all have a boss and the retro boards dont for some reason.
I think I have a theory behind why, as a business, Rainbow Galleria would have the stamp stations: they're what's known as "loss leaders". By giving customers a novel trinket at a relatively small loss and placing them in a variety of locations across the campus, the mall can suck you in, tempt you to explore, and by extension, tempt you to buy more than you initially intended to. This system here is PARTICULARLY GENIUS because it makes you feel like you need to get ALL the stamps, thereby exploring the entire mall! Best part? Even if they do give out the prize 50 coins a pop is probably nothing compared to the crazy revenue RG made back just by the customer browsing.
0:18 My guess is that this is a second Western Land based on the original one which is still in Mario Land - whether the latter is still in use or not is anybody's guess. 1:17 I see that their sales policy is the same as Ubisoft's... 1:47 ...and while not in exactly the same way this is also like Ubisoft unfortunately! 3:24 In my town I've seen a straight up transparent elevator in a mall instead of a translucent one but yeah, it might be a typical mall thing. 7:10 Of course if there's more than one regular shop on the board then it comes down to luck although with a higher chance than a completely random Pipe. 16:24 It is and shows up as such in this game's story mode, but is also treated as a regular minigame when playing on boards as seen here. 17:21 The boss's health meter is on the right but yeah, I agree about everything else.
0:26 Good god thats dystopian and perfectly fits into this franchise 😢 16:24 At least ND-Cube still cares about us Mario Party 9 fanatics🤧🤧 19:07 My brain tells me that becoming poor through taxes in unfair, while my heart leans Keynesian and tells me that the Nanny state taking money to pay for my Welfare is just and good🤗🤗
17:44 that would be because in the story mode, that was the boss you fight on this board, basically on every original board you have the chance to fight the boards boss from story mode if you land on a VS space, not sure why it’s only VS spaces though
0:23 Perhaps they’re like carnivals that set up and pack up pretty easily, but they need to undergo maintenance and have additions? 3:34 It’s a thing large buildings usually do, although not everywhere.
oh boy the mall! where most robots are DESTINED to want to have a markup sticker (or as they call it here, the LIBERAL TAX item) at least once also 17:42 yes it is! it can predict the FUTURE...
The newest Rocky Wrench depictions (this and Mario Kart Tour) have reverted back to the older design, where they have pointier noses and Koopa shells as opposed to being Monty Moles with goggles, yeah.
There are 5 boss minigames that you can play in the single player but they can appear in party mode as battle minigames only. A good balance between old and new mario parties
17:00 i've played mario party 9 before, and it looks like they buffed the final attack points, cuz usually, it tends to be +3 (usually, as King boo for some reason goes for +10 iirc) but here it's +5, you could have tied with goomba if it was +3 but alas, the game like every mario party game, hates the player, so welp.
I’m not sure if you were trying to suggest the Shop Hop Box let you choose which shop to go to, but you can't; it takes you to a completely random one. Might've misunderstood what you were getting at though.

That rocky wrench designed is from 3 yeah, the model is based on a mario kart booster course pass track though

1:47 ...and while not in exactly the same way this is also like Ubisoft unfortunately!

They would probably just get repetitive if you could fight them as a random minigame, they're meant to be big events.
0:23 Perhaps they’re like carnivals that set up and pack up pretty easily, but they need to undergo maintenance and have additions?

7:23 That item could honestly be a friendship ender.
Yes! Finnaly another Super Mario Party Jamboree Video!
17:22 There's a health meter to the right of the screen... don't disagree with the sentiment though since you're basically guaranteed to be close.
Yeah the button mashing minigames are just impossible to plan for, especially when you do that little damage.
The newest Rocky Wrench depictions (this and Mario Kart Tour) have reverted back to the older design, where they have pointier noses and Koopa shells as opposed to being Monty Moles with goggles, yeah.
No, Tour still used the design introduced in New Super Mario Bros. Wii
It was the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass that first changed this.
There are 5 boss minigames that you can play in the single player but they can appear in party mode as battle minigames only.
A good balance between old and new mario parties
I don't think I've seen this vs minigame come up on other spaces, nor have I seen another happen on this space...

In mario party 10 i believe it depended on the boss
0:25 Well at least that can’t happen anymore since the Mario and Sonic series is done
4:07 - I relate to this sentence so hard, it's almost _physically_ painful.
Isn't there a health meter for the Rocky Wrench off to the right, there?
...oh.
So there is.
Whoops :V
I’m not sure if you were trying to suggest the Shop Hop Box let you choose which shop to go to, but you can't; it takes you to a completely random one. Might've misunderstood what you were getting at though.
It doesn't let you choose, but you still know all the possible spots you can end up at - and it's usually just two per board.
Ah, fair enough
Back to Mario Party.
You ever thought about playing older Mario Parties that have a Story Mode?
Yeah, definitely. They just release at such a pace there's a new one to play by the time it'd seem like a good time to play one of the older ones :V
YEST YES YES YES YES YES YEAAAGGGGGGHHHH
Western Land, my absolute favorite board
I like this board, but I'm just upset they didn't at least name it coconut mall :(
