Hello dude thanks for the video it was helpfull. But I need to ask you a question because I am a new player at this game and I am thinking to make an enhancement shaman to vanilla classic. So my question is if its worthy to make enhancement shaman or elemental shaman???
I remember rolling a shaman in vanilla. Did no research, and could not find the hidden path to the first class quest in the Valley of trials. So i was a shaman without totems until level 30 i think... Good times :)

My favorite classic memory from back in the day was running a group of clothies through SFK as a level appropriate shaman because I, "had a shield". It went shockingly well.
Elemental in PvP is pretty understated here. They're incredible in battlegrounds when played by someone who knows when to heal, when to dps and when to purge, interrupt or kite.
I deleted my water totem quest by accident, and had no idea where to continue the quest. (In 2005) So at level 45 ish people got mad at me because i "wouldn't" use my water totem 😅 After some time i wrote a ticket. A GM teleported me to southern barrens in the hills, where i could pick up the quest and continue. I was 13 years old back then.. all the memories ❤️
nothing better for a raid when the aoe during the boss fight gets crazy, and you bomb chain heal and drop mana tide to give yourself and all the healers in your subgroup more mana
tanking outside raids was really messed up... I saw rogues tanking dungeons at the level by taking fights slowly and everyone coordinating dmg to properly burst down targets in sequence...
@@morbidgull8922 What do you mean? I think this is kind of neat. Niche picks for certain roles in the trinity are always welcome, the trinity is boring tbh.
That's really what Horde should have to do rather than getting a zepplin direct from org to undercity. Always seemed strange to me that they get that while alliance have to run through the looooooooooooooooooong wetlands zone to get the menthil/IF flightpoint
Isn't there a Zeppelin from Orgrimmar to Undercity for an easier route for water totem quest? Perhaps I am confusing a later add, but I thought it was there in Vanilla.
Yep you are right lol. I rememberd this fact a bit too late. Good memory! Also i was kind of thinking just going from the quest location. There is also a Zeppelin from Undercity AND Orgrimmar to Grom grol in STV, so doing what I said actually doesnt make much sense. Woops
ye but still ... once you get done there you have to go back to the barrens then go to silverpine (again) then go to ashenvale then back ... so its kinda anoying
Enhance tanking didnt just have earth shock for threat, rockbiter weapon used to provide high threat as well. Drop a stoneskin totem, and you can tank up to around ZF.
I tanked all dungeons and had about 33% dodge, 5% parry, 10% block, 5k armor and 5k hp unbuffed. I found myself surviving ubrs a lot easier than the warriors who were supposed to be the MT. I remember a really bad pull once and the warrior went down. I survived 5 mobs beating on me simply because they couldn't hit me lol I was never given the chance to tank raids, however :( They never let me roll on tank gear either in raids and instead opted to disenchant it rather than let me have it... I was simply a novelty to have in the guild and was forced to heal. I ended up quitting during AQ because of how boring and repetitive healing is as a shaman. Put totems down and spam chain heal pretty much sums it up. This is why if I ever decide to play classic wow, even casually, I won't be a paladin, druid, or shaman... Too much disappointment and people shitting on you for not wanting you to just be a healer...
@@unluckyraven101 As a paladin in Vanilla WoW, this was my experience 100%. I sincerely hope that, as they continue this Classic project, going forward they keep raids smaller so that utility classes can shine and so that different class compositions tackle problems differently. By extension, they need to augment the capabilities of certain classes so that they can fulfill dungeon/raid roles that the classes were actually intended to do initially (even if they have to do it differently). In addition to healing, druids and shamans should be able to either tank or dps (Blizzard can choose one). Paladins should be able to tank. Maybe the Warlock should be able to tank too with the special demonology spec. With that said, no class should be able to do all 3 roles well, and classes that fulfill multiple roles should shine in more niche situations. By and large, I think an emphasis on smaller dungeons (raiding as 10-20 men instead of 40) lets these alternate builds shine more and be more viable than they are in 40 man raids. I like that skill and class matter more in Vanilla than in the current game, and I hope they keep that in mind as they potentially explore future content for WoW Classic players.
@@unluckyraven101 if you had 5k health then you were massively over geared or world buffed. Shaman tanking in blues, without an overgeared group capable of handling the damage/off tanking the loose mobs, I will believe when I see.
Yes, off-tanking was a thing in the original game design but never truly realized. (Rogues were also able to equip bucklers) Making shammies effective off tanks would have given horde a nice parallel to alliances extra tanking class. In the end, I would guess it was too hard to implement meaningful mechanics since shamans were mail wearers and raids had enough slots to just take more warrior tanks.
@@johnokeefe2471 Yea that one, I haven't done it since burning crusade. I think I remember that and stoneclaw totem being about the only thing shamans had going for them besides the parry and dodge in the skill trees.
@@lustgunther I knew I wasn't crazy, I remember them always being slowed. I didn't play Shaman in classic. I played in late 2005 and just focused on a rogue.
As a resto shaman who cleared naxx pre TBC, I can say restoration shamans were by far the best healers. No other class could come close to the amount of HPS levels a good resto shaman could. There were barely any good ones tho.
Do you remember when a Shaman could tank some fights in Enhancement Mode? I miss being my big tanky Tauren shaman and going: I'll tank this trash while we wait for our Warrior friend to come back. Not that I minded becoming a dual wielding spell slinging DPS...but just...the fun of tanking and having everyone go: Man, this isn't fair all you can do! Oh...the tears of Vanilla Paladins tasted like nectar and ambrosia!
@Soylent GoogleCuck i used to play human mage, thinking about rolling horde this time around. I think I'll decide at the character selection screen! 😀🤙
I’m playing shaman in fresh. I started playing wow in sod as a paladin. My guild played horde sham was a class no one wanted to play so I did. It’s been great so far.
I think you may have under stated the effectiveness of Ele Shammy in PvP. Chain lightning crits with insta cast could wreck teams and clear casting procs even more so. I recall all too well the trepidation everyone would have when faced with a lightning wielding shammy in BG's. I think your guides are great and I have watched most of them I just feel this one didn't do the Ele/resto shammy real justice. As an alliance player we would definitely be concerned with a good shammy sporting this build!
Shaman in pvp is caster's nightmare, it's slightly weaker against rogue or warrior if caught by surprise( without any totem on the ground), if they had all the totem ready then the fight is basically one sided, unless the shaman mess up so bad. Played a shaman all the way to high warlord back in the days, it was so much fun in pvp.
Ztÿx I do not agree, auto attacks + wep procs, searing totem and flame shock still do good damage. If you got to pull 2 enemies example, yes kill one asap with burst, but mainly strat provided is true, as well as it will cut down costs on food and water in the long run
Elemental until you can get max rank flurry and a good 2h and then respec to enhancement at around 31 ish if you get a good axe and go sword and board. This is because youre still only using shocks and totems and the first 3 tiers of Elemental will help you level much faster while utilizing the exact same playstyle.
I've been playing a shaman since the first day of vanilla. I love the class even if its not the best at anything. I liked doing pvp with it in the old days cause I always had the right spell for the situation, just had to be able to use everything at your disposal with quick reactions and keybind. I remember fighting 2v1, using earthbind totem and frost shock, then jumping down a small cliff, into the water, then walk on water to get some heals and long range dps, etc. A shaman could be very very good in pvp or very bad, skills was everything.
"not the best at anything" Shaman has the absolute highest burst damage in the game (if you don't count reckoning paladin which is basically cheating). A 3.5 second LB + CL + shock combo will annihilate any hp bar.
So many spells...I became totally dependent on a mod called Shockolate in TBC, that auto arranged the totems in four movable rings so I could get my bars back.
I have no idea what people are doing on YT without some sort of adblocker installed. The only time I have seen an add on YT in the last ten years was when my hard drive broke and I had to buy a new one. I accidentally watched a YT video before remembering to reinstall uBlock Origin on the new drive. It almost ruined my day.
@@@richardsalzmann7946 Subscribe and like, done. Anyone who feels entitled to torture me with icessant advertisement will be muted or completely ignored if muting doesn't work, like when Adblock stopped blocking ads a while back, which is, you know, totally false advertising then. So replace that with uBlock Origin in ten seconds and keep going, ad free. There's a reason I watch YT videos rather than network TV. All they care about is money from ads to fuel their opulent and largely unearned lifestyles, at the expense of the viewing experience. I mean, have you seen some of the shit that's on TV? They are all lucky they don't have to get a second job to pay the bills. They neither need or deserve any support from me. At least make good TV first. But no, that's too hard. And consequently I don't have to take their little feelings into account when I never, ever watch TV anymore. I refuse to be advertized at, period. It's degrading and lets inferior people into my brain, where I will not have them for so much as a second. If YT becomes the same with no ways of avoiding it, I will ignore that too. Simple as. There is no scenario where anyone will ever successfully make me watch an ad. It can't be done. Besides it doesn't work on me anyway. I am much more likely to boycott a company if it somehow manages to make me watch one of their ads than I am to buy anything from them. I have no idea who buys stuff after watching commercials. I guess people are just stupid. But I'm not.
@@daveygravygaming now now now, let's not get all angered. you knew he wasn't even worth emotion or second thought when you read "and lets inferior people into my brain". That alone proves he's worthless.
Im sure this has already been addressed in the comments 100 times, but for the water totem quest, it has you go to ashenvale, hillsbrad, and silverpine, and each time you report to someone in the barrens. once on the last part in silverpine, there's a shortcut right behind the inn at the sepulcher that takes u right to the quest objective location; it takes like 20 seconds to get there. also like other people have addressed, you can take the zep from outside org to tirisfal glades. granted, there is a LOT of walking in this quest as you have to go to ashenvale and hillsbrad before you're really ready for those zones, but it's not as bad as this video makes it out to be with some false information. love these videos, this was a pretty big hic-up tho XD keep doing great work
@@napukapu What makes you think he can't prepare a huge amount of potions and make a bunch of gold before then switching to engineering? Also, there is no need for name-calling. Let the guy be hyped up, let him have fun.
My first character was a Tauren Shaman named Xerxxes. My best memory with him was beating a Paladin who wanted to duel me while I was questing in 1k. Such a great class.
Loved when shamans and paladins were not shared among Alliance and Horde. It made it a clear difference to play one of the fractions. Blessing of freedom made Alliance favorits in WSG, but that WF´totem and purge sure made horde able to own in other PVP circumstances.
Yes, this! They removed all the differences and restrictions and only succeeded in making the game bland. Although i did play a draenei Shaman for all of TBC, so maybe I'm a hypocrite. It got worse when all the restrictions got removed later though. Didn't like any of it then, don't like it now. The game was well designed and didn't need any of this nonsense. Also, so much fun playing a mage, so DPS is the only thing you're there for, and paladins do much better damage than you while being able to tank and heal and being unkillable. This was like six straight months of Wrath before Blizz finally deigned to buff mages a little. And they still weren't better than paladins. Just not worse. This was about the point where I lost all confidence in the developers. Specialist DPS class, yo! No, little Johnny is whining about his paladin so we have to make it OP for him. OK then, I'll just unsubscribe over here.
The quest for the helmet can definitely be completed before 60. I got mine at level 58 and I was so incredibly proud that I had an epic before 60 that I kept running around in Orgirmmar for ages just to show the helmet off
I always loved that Shamans (and Paladins) were exclusive to their faction. It made sense thematically and lore wise, and underlined the identity of the factions. It was also just such a charming curiosity of Classic. Such a shame that they "fixed" that with TBC. One more old school fantasy design gone 😢. "Balance" should never take a backseat to fantasy. Players who want that can go play chess.
Earth shield was such a nice spell add in tbc. I rerolled from alliance rogue and priests in vanilla to a shaman on horde and later a warrior as my main.
I remember leveling up through 40 something as tank shaman. Any time I bring up shaman tanks in vanilla, people tell me that I'm misremembering and they literally couldn't do it. I'm not saying it was good, but I do wish that it was something that I could still do in current wow. Either way, I had a lot of fun watching your video, keep up the good work!
My first and main character was an enhance shaman that I always enjoyed playing. I still remember all the cries of "NERF SHAMAN!" from alliance players on the forums. There were a few instances where I was able to off-tank, but it was rare. One that I would off-tank many times was Cho'Rush in Dire Mual when we would fight King Gordok.
Just started a shaman on classic vanilla wow with my brother(he is a warrior). I was playing it wrong(used the shock spell like wrath on a druid) and hated it... now thanks to your video Shaman might just be my favorite!
Thanks for these videos man. I'm torn between Warrior and Shaman. Both are pretty trash at solo content but shaman is a bit better I guess. I'm a solo player but I also like bringing important buffs like something like windfury. Also, elemental/resto hybrid looks absolutely disgusting in PvP. On the otherhand, I like playing a warrior because you feel like a total beast.
I did play a Shaman but not in vanilla, I loved the buffs we could offer sort felt like you "needed" a shaman in group if you could, since buff/totemicide they lost what made them special, I felt pretty much the same with Paladins. Think the changes ruined what made Warcraft what it was. Not played since Legion the Demonhunter was the last thing to make me stay, I sometimes wish I could turn the clock back.
Everyone in the comments saying Shaman in PVP I'd a waste of time, obviously sucked at playing Sham. I was enhance sham PVP up to Warlord in classic and rolled almost everyone except for rogues and had probs with hunters at most. But I don't get where people are saying shamans aren't good? Maybe u don't know how to play a sham ?
You should be more highly viewed. I'm pretty picky when it comes to WoW content creators and you're videos are pretty good. I binged them all while all work :)
Man I can’t decide between shaman and priest. My main was a Tauren warrior in vanilla and I’m leaning towards shaman for those Tauren thunder bluff/ nostalgia vibes.
Savage Carnivore as for me i chosen priest over shaman in the end. Shamans hav absolutely no crowd control aside earthbind and frost shock, while priests have fear. Also i though shamans will be more mobile duo to ghost wolf, but actually ghost wolf is worth only if you spec enh, and shamans have no instant heals like renew and shield like priests, so you have to always stop for a cast if you want to heal
If we're making a pros and cons list, I'll do the other side (I was a priest in vanilla): Priests have no ability to melee, no ability to tank. Their toolbox is a little smaller (compared to 80 different totems). No self-rez, no movespeed increase in any spec, fear is unreliable as CC and can result in pulling additional mobs. A priest can't heal 3 targets in a different group at the same time. Less armor and no shield make them easier to pick off by rogues/warriors/hunters in PvP. Shadow has roughly the same mana issues as elemental. If your goal is to heal, both are solid .Priests are "the best healers" but only if you care about a healing meter. Priests are great at giving you hit points and shields... and that's it. Shamans provide a massive amount of utility between mana tide, windfury, poison removal, and the fact that chain heal is a smart heal. Both are very necessary and sought after in 5s and raids, so really you can't go wrong.
I know this is a old video, but I just love how every single youtuber completely forgets how huge of a buff totems are for the group and just keeps saying "its not a top dps" over and over..... yeah if others increased dmg from their totems was counted as personal dps you could be damn sure they would be top. Just cause all of you haters are selfish doesnt mean its a bad spec....... I swear what is it with private server players in particular and their personal number epeen contest?
In my guild we had a PvP shaman those could delete alliance so fast. When you looked at shaman's toolkit it was almost unfair how fast they could delete people 1v1 either as elemental or enhancement. Being able to nature's swiftness a chain lightning or a big heal let them clutch fights at the last moment. Earthshock was probably the most cancerous skill, a ranged interrupt on a 6 second cooldown along with purge spamming left enemy clothies standing around interrupted and super squishy. I was so happy our guild got him sulfuras so he could delete scrubs in BGs just like the classic Unbreakable PvP video. He inspired me to make my own shaman and discover the wonders of windfury, especially self casted on weapon which granted 2! extra hits with ridiculous bonus attack power. Such a really fun class to play especially if you were skilled.
Sounds awesome! Enhance could certainly pop people in one hit, was just getting in range that was often the problem. Ele in pvp is great too, really puts out nasty damage
I always went with a enhancement to stormstrike and resto for the 75% avoid interrupt during casting for my heals. Lol. Killed a lot of players tank healing and baiting for the interrupt in pvp I also remember being a hindered to my AQ40 guild being an Elemental lolol hella funny
The most efficient and fun way to level is: As a healer. Not kidding. For one: You don't actually go oom, if you use your totems right. You barely have to drink. But the secret OP weapon of a shaman comes twofold: Shields and Stoneskin. You have alot of armour for a healer and Blocking / Stoneskin reduces the damage from fast attackers to next to null. The Hinterlands are a good example. As a lvl 49 Shaman, you can kill 3-4 level 48-50 mobs at the same time with Stoneskin -> Manaspring -> Heal (Important! because of agro) -> Nova totem. Heal / Attack with rockbiter and a descent meele weapon (Scarlet Monestary healing mace is a nice one which will get you through most of your leveling.) and put down a magma totem. With 2 Shamans this technique gets absolutely bonkers, as you can kill 6-10 mobs easily. The combination of a good AOE ability that you do not have to cast, high amounts of armour, Flat damage reduction and "Oh shit buttons" in the form of Natures swiftness, slow totems, Manatide etc. make this one of the most enjoyable levelers that I have seen. Because you don't just grind mobs like a mage. You finish quests rediculously fast!
Been away from WoW for years but I want to come back for classic. I understand all I need is a sub & can play it. Probably going to roll an orc resto shaman. When is the launch date & when will the servers be up so that I can see where I want to go?
Servers up atm for name reservation only. Link below for release depending on your time zone. Cheers worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/22990080/mark-your-calendars-wow-classic-launch-and-testing-schedule
Feral/Tank druid + Tank-specced Enha shaman is a killer-combo for leveling, that's being slept on, you have two "tanks that can also heal, that deal decent damage" and you have totem buffs for the druid and all the shaman kit,AND the druid has innervate and rebirth for when the shaman runs out of mana or fucks up,plus you have stuns, slows and ranged abilities, you can kill 2 elites 3 lvls above you with that team, which is unheard of from any other duo combo
Started up classic and rolled shammy from the start this time. Originally rolled one right before lich king as I played mate throughout BC and had some moments of fun and utter frustration. It was the best choice I made and wished I tried it sooner lol
Shaman tanking works up to about level 50ish. After that they just fall off so fast. 😓 Shame cause I would love to see a shaman tank! They should just do that in retail 😍
at 5:25 i see how you as a tauren thought that the quest was hard to reach, since there is a zeppelin tower right next to orgrimmar that takes you outside of undercity, near the town of brill. There as a level 20 shaman it is easy to reach sepulcher from there :P edit: oh, i see you had a comment about that
rockbiter is a very underrated ability, I use all the way through windfury simply because it does more burst damage. Especially if you're the only melee in you're group any shaman should abuse the dps boost rockbiter gives.
Rockbiter was the threat-generating enhancement though, so you would only use it while leveling and never in dungeons. I've had extreme cases where I've had to kick shamans from my groups because they just couldn't understand that Rockbiter made them take aggro. Also, no, Rockbiter doesn't deal more burst damage - it deals more sustained damage. Windfury is the one that's bursty.
I actually think that elemental is one of the 3 best PvP specs in the game, along with arms warriors and frost mages. Heavily, heavily underrated spec that just annihilates players in group PvP and provides substantial healing and utility.
Elemental shamans are just rogue fodder though, orc has it a bit better with stun resist, but you'll just get interrupted/cc'd easily with no real way to defend against it, and rogues are the most popular pvp class to go up against making it even worse.
Llynethil rogue fodder? Mail + shield + instant cast heal.. Ele can survive a rogue better than any other caster. Most competitive BG teams will only take 1 rogue as well.
@@justindavis2024 the only caster that can survive a rogue is a mage due to having lots of tools to deal with them and it's a fight of skill between those 2, all other casters in vanilla get wrecked by rogues, that's just how it is.
Coming back to this video with the announcement of fresh next week, was really looking further into playing Enhancement but honestly, while it looks fun, I think I'm overestimating it by a ton, to the point where Prot Warrior tanking would be more fun that it.

Thanks! I was curious about the tanking myself. There are people on private servers who have gone to insane lengths to make it work. It's impressive stuff.
I want to put this in here, talking about Shaman tanking. It was designed as an offtank, much like the other tanks. However, they failed to make its use. Shamans were superior magic tanks at the time (before Death knights came around) and had really good snap threat so they could pull add spawns on raid fights like nothing. The problem was they made druids who did this the same way, so you only brought a shammy tank IF you really needed a tank, and still had nobody else to provide totems. The totems were well worth it if all the dps slots in a raid are full otherwise.
no:) you need the totem item (gained from the class quests) to cast the totems belonging to that element, the totem item is not used up when a totem structure is destroyed:D (you do need the totem items in your bags to cast the actual totems and not in the bank:3)
@@WillEmmo great, thanks man I also have one question if its not much. I plan on leveling in classic as a healer with a friend and he's going hunter, so my choice is between Druid and Shaman but I don't know which one is better, what are your thoughts?

Shaman was my first toon! That ad campaign from back in the day with William Shatner talking about his Tauren Shaman convinced me to take the plunge.
I remember useing low-level earth shock just for interrupts and mana.
I used it to tank. Yeas, you could tank the early dungeons as a shaman.
Going rogue when classic releases , main reasons is I want to join the Defias brotherhood. Also want to become a peace bloom dealer.....
2 as good a reason as any!
When we couldnt find a tank I used to tank with shaman before level 40 using frost shock. It works until Warriors/pally's start using plate.

In vanilla, Earth Shock generated high threat not frost shock...

There will be exceptions to everything. But if there are few good ones on average, that's what matters.

Do you remember when a Shaman could tank some fights in Enhancement Mode? I miss being my big tanky Tauren shaman and going: I'll tank this trash while we wait for our Warrior friend to come back.

Played a shaman all the way to high warlord back in the days, it was so much fun in pvp.

lol you juked me hard here haha :D
I was like why is my lightning bolt going over there
If u go elemental when leveling, use more spells. Just keep track of 5sec break before mps kicks in. Wouldnt do that much auto-attack
Ztÿx I do not agree, auto attacks + wep procs, searing totem and flame shock still do good damage. If you got to pull 2 enemies example, yes kill one asap with burst, but mainly strat provided is true, as well as it will cut down costs on food and water in the long run
Justgo enha 2h and oneshit everything with windfury. Easy leveling! All you need is some obscene rng. :p
"not the best at anything"
Shaman has the absolute highest burst damage in the game (if you don't count reckoning paladin which is basically cheating). A 3.5 second LB + CL + shock combo will annihilate any hp bar.
Shaman was one of the best classes in Vanilla!

There are no paladin on horde in classic.....
Loved when shamans and paladins were not shared among Alliance and Horde. It made it a clear difference to play one of the fractions. Blessing of freedom made Alliance favorits in WSG, but that WF´totem and purge sure made horde able to own in other PVP circumstances.
Agree! Really liked both faction had a unique class

Yeah the elemental shields for each spec were pretty cool
I remember leveling up through 40 something as tank shaman. Any time I bring up shaman tanks in vanilla, people tell me that I'm misremembering and they literally couldn't do it.
I'm not saying it was good, but I do wish that it was something that I could still do in current wow.
Either way, I had a lot of fun watching your video, keep up the good work!
Thanks! I think it was possible at lower levels, at higher levels you needed to start using consumables and really choosing to play it, it was rough
I tanked UBRS on my shaman! So, don't fret! They existed! Plan to do it again in the near future!
I enhance tanked wailing caverns but that's probably the best tanking ill do as a shaman haha our warrior got too drunk and had to hearth out haha
Melee group shamans didn't put points into mana tide and instead went all the way to improved wf totem. Since melee groups dont need mana regen.
True i did show a melee spec shaman in there too with variations for enhancing and weapon totems. Cheers
Shaman in WOTLK is so much better than vanilla, it's not even close.

Bad advice here. Rockbiter has been documented to do more DPS at all levels with all weapons. Flametongue is the lowest DPS across the board.
You finish quests rediculously fast!

at 5:25 i see how you as a tauren thought that the quest was hard to reach, since there is a zeppelin tower right next to orgrimmar that takes you outside of undercity, near the town of brill. There as a level 20 shaman it is easy to reach sepulcher from there :P
edit: oh, i see you had a comment about that
rockbiter is a very underrated ability, I use all the way through windfury simply because it does more burst damage. Especially if you're the only melee in you're group any shaman should abuse the dps boost rockbiter gives.
Yeah it gives so much AP,, makes your crits huge
Rockbiter was the threat-generating enhancement though, so you would only use it while leveling and never in dungeons. I've had extreme cases where I've had to kick shamans from my groups because they just couldn't understand that Rockbiter made them take aggro. Also, no, Rockbiter doesn't deal more burst damage - it deals more sustained damage. Windfury is the one that's bursty.
Thanks for the video!

One question, if a totem gets destroyed does it consume a totem in your bag or what?
no:) you need the totem item (gained from the class quests) to cast the totems belonging to that element, the totem item is not used up when a totem structure is destroyed:D
(you do need the totem items in your bags to cast the actual totems and not in the bank:3)
Nope, they are just a one time thing you get after completeing the quest then you have it forever
