whenever roots get stuck inside my terracotta pots i always use one of those wide plastic knives, might be a plastic butter knife? and you basically just shove it down in between the pot and the soil. has worked wonderfully every time, surprisingly

I’m currently purging, organizing and rearranging the basement. Once we get the house done, plants are next! I don’t know how it gets so bad and eventually overwhelming.

have you ever tried propogating watermelon peperomia? ive been able to successfully propogate the leaves in spaghnum moss. some rot away but some grow brand new fresh little baby plants! you should try it!

Don’t know what to do with the cord, buy a cord cover, you can purchase cord covers at Home Depot in the lighting section.
As a 30 year stylist/Cos instructor… Reapply the color of choice. The white is hard to cover so this first coat of color worked as a filler. 🐶 It should take the desired color the second time around. “Ginger” is a step closer to chocolate.🐶

Not new, but I just went on a plant road trip and checked out some of the nurseries you recommended -they were awesome! I loved vintage hill farms! The people were super friendly, the pets were adorable, and of course, the plants were amazing!

That's how I water now, too. Probably mid-week I go around and check the soil on all my neediest/thirstiest plants and do some watering. Then on the weekend it's my heavy watering day where I check most everything. But splitting it up makes the weekend watering take way less long!

Thats how i water, a check a “zone” every few days and water what’s thirsty in that zone. No way could I water all at once. I gave up on moving my monstera to the shower for watering now, she’s too big. I put her on a short plant stand, drilled a hole near the edge of her saucer and when I water I put a bucket under the hole. Felt pretty genius. 😂. I do miss washing her down those. Now it’s just wiping.

Have you ever considered using the watering table thing you made for your adansonii tree to water more plants at one time than the planta-potty can handle? Just thinking! I take like 10+ to the tub at one time (thankfully the bathroom is across the hall from my plant room) and use the detachable shower head to water and clean leaves. Maybe it would save a bit of time?
I’ve done that yes!! I need to get a better bucket for underneath it to cover more so I don’t drip onto the ground 😂

Could you explain what each ingredient in the soil is used for? It’s very confusing. For example, why would someone choose to use orchid bark instead of coco coir in their mix or something like that
