Even Leslie himself couldn’t resist cracking up when he did that lol! Props to Terry for playing along and making it even funnier instead of getting offended or faking offense!
Two of my all-time favourites...I loved Leslie Nielsen's movies from Airplane, he discovered a new lease of life in comedy and made me laugh so much and I loved Terry Wogan, he was one of the best interviewers and TV and radio personalities around, the way he told a story or joke, no one could touch him on this and both of them were do professional...both of them are sadly missed and the world seems a darker place without Lesile's comedy genius touches and without Terry's brilliant way of interviewing and his warmth of personality...I really miss him on the radio and I miss him not being here to do Children In Need anymore...what makes me even more sad is that there isn't anyone in the wings like Leslie and Terry to step up and carry on (just like when Joan Rivers and Robin Williams died, the world just seems a darker place)!!
What I find fascinating about him is that for the first 2/3s of his career, Nielsen wasn't just the "straight" man; he was considered a "heavy;" a serious actor who came in and did very overbearing and stoic characters. He was on an episode of MASH but was largely serious character; even AFTER Airplane, Nielsen was in Nuts - a movie where he played a sexual assaulter. Its almost as if once he was identified as a comic actor, he was like "All in," and started doing the whoopie-cushion gag, making more jokes etc.
I'm sorry but I am 16 years old and my friends love new comedy and new stuff but I have told them they will never beat Leslie Nielsen and the naked gun and airplane
He was friends with Kenny Everett who was a fellow DJ and inveterate prankster…he was also quite friendly with Kenneth Williams from the Carry On films So he would be used to all sorts of nonsense 😂
My lovely long passed dad loved toilet humour, from a very young age,I remember him hanging onto the gas cooker, spread his legs and cut a ripper, turn round, and blame my mum.😂
It would've been great if Leslie had been invited on to Wogan's Radio 2 shows now & then. Imagine Terry reading out a Janet & John story or two with Leslie letting rip & I think Leslie would've been laughing at the innuendo in the stories. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Proof that British people have a better sense of humor than Americans. When Leslie did the fart box gag on Letterman no one laughed until the 3rd or 4th one. These guys got it right away lol
The thing is, Leslie was NOT a comedian. He didn't do a set routine. To me, Leslie was a wit. He would find humor in a simple conversation. I bet interviewers loved him because his wit made them seem funny. He played off of people. For me, that is a special genius. Robin Williams was like that. Sure, he could do set stand up routines. But, Robin really did his best when he was sitting with an interviewer, and just talking, and cracking up. I just love witty people like them.
I used to work with a guy who farted all the time, and there was NOTHING funny about it. But knowing Leslie had a gizmo in his hand, and knew exactly when and how much to use it is what make it so funny. Let er' RIP, Leslie.
Something amazing to see two people who are no longer with us genuinely laughing together.
Leslie is still a therapy for sadness.
funny you say that, i'm having a leslie neilson marathon as i need some guaranteed laughs!
The man can keep a straight face in the funniest of moments but he can't take his own fart jokes 😄
All those years and it still cracked him up.
Wogan went along with this very well! Leslie Nielsen was a very talented actor and had great comedic timing.
The two men in this video were genuinely nice people RIP Terry Wogan and Leslie Nielsen 🙂🙂
How he laughs so childlike when he does it is what makes it so special..you are still loved LN
Even Leslie can't keep a straight face, I love it!
I have this on repeat, excuse the pun. Essential viewing and listening pleasure in these pretty challenging times.
Just as long as you don't have it on "report".
Oh is was a sad day when he died. We ALL lost another GREAT comedic genius!! Always a jokester, R.I.P. Leslie.
[ GREAT comedic genius ]? - I guess death really is the best legacy sanitizer.
2:19 - The moment even Leslie laughs at his own "farting". Just fantastic.
its a machine
Did you not notice the inverted comma's (" ") around farting?
Even Leslie himself couldn’t resist cracking up when he did that lol! Props to Terry for playing along and making it even funnier instead of getting offended or faking offense!
He laughs like a little, fantastic!
“Are you cutting me a slice?”
I'm laughing all the way through this. But I lost it totally right at the end "I just try to avoid tension..." 😂😂
His famous fart machine he carried for years just to mess with interviewers. Classic!
I got one of these two. It's called a bottom.
He took that machine everywhere he went

He set that up so perfectly: "I'm known for being well mannered"
And he has to protect- *brrnnnttt* protect that image!
Wish we could have kept him forever. Legend. 😂😂😂
two beautiful legends
Leslie Nielsen is definitely the king of fart jokes. He used to carry a fart machine with him. What a great man! RIP Leslie! We miss you!
His tombstone says...."Let er' Rip".
So far this is my favourite of all the Leslie Nielsen fart interviews.
Two brilliant, brilliant gentlemen having a laugh (and cake) fantastic
The only actor that I can always remember how his voice sounds like
Timing is perfect
This man is my hero.
This man was a genius.
Is * a genius.
A very talented down to earth guy.
Two wonderful men now gone 😢
Света никога няма да има втори Лесли Нилсен,за съжаление.Неповторим,харизматичен,неподражаем!
Sometimes a simple fart is the funniest thing in the world.
shellsbignumber2 yep. Timing is everything for a good fart joke, and Leslie was a master at it.
u damn right he was .@@jtb1990419
No, EVERY SINGLE TIME a simple fart is the funniest thing in the world.
Not for my wife xD
Especially if she is a shitty date.
Makes a disaster a wonderful memory.
When he said "We came here to have fun, didn't we?", he actually let another one.
Leslie Nielson is just a fun guy. I miss him!! :)
I grew up watching him 🤣😂🤣 much love from the land down under

both lovely men. RIP
Leslie missed an opportunity there. "Too bad there aren't lighted candles on that cake. I could blow them out."
What a legend. One can only wish to have his energy and levity at 63.
That fart can belongs in a museum.
I'm sorry but I am 16 years old and my friends love new comedy and new stuff but I have told them they will never beat Leslie Nielsen and the naked gun and airplane
Sam Turner and you are so right and have good taste!
that is true. Leslie is/was the best
Surely you cant be serious?!
And Police Squad!
Nice to hear :) Good taste kid.
Anything for a good laugh 😂 Thank you Leslie
My favorite thing is that he cracks himself up with his fart jokes. It’s like someone else farted and he reacted.
"Are you *brrrnnntttt* cutting me a slice?"
"Of course. You know, I wondered why they called you a society entertainer".
That cracked me up lol!
i love this man, i grew up with my father sharing the naked gun and airplane movies with me ^^
RIP Leslie you were a funny guy I still laugh at the Naked Guns.
Terry Wogan Selling the Fart 1:18 - Classic!
He was friends with Kenny Everett who was a fellow DJ and inveterate prankster…he was also quite friendly with Kenneth Williams from the Carry On films
So he would be used to all sorts of nonsense 😂
Brilliant!!! :-)
Watch Leslie light up when Terry says "I'll even cut you a slice"...
One of the funniest comedian I've ever seen truely a legend
"Just try to avoid tension" lol
"I just try to avoid tension that's all"
I was gonna write that🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Holy crap! if he was still alive he would be 92 by now!!
Leslie Nielsen was a genius.
A lot of women don't appreciate the sound of a good old fashioned fart.
RIP Terry Wogan
John King RIP Both of these guys!
Wasn't he already a star prior to "Airplane!" Wogan? I mean "Forbidden Planet" and "The Poseidon Adventure" come to mind...
I missed mr Terry he was good
LEGEND HUMBLE CLASS
LEGEND
I miss Leslie :(.
I love how grown people laugh for 2 mins straight over a single fart🥰😆
Brilliant
“You look as fit as a flea. You do any special exercises for that?”
_”Well, I get a lot of fibre in my diet.”_
I want to see the full interview! :D
Saudade desse ator!
My lovely long passed dad loved toilet humour, from a very young age,I remember him hanging onto the gas cooker, spread his legs and cut a ripper, turn round, and blame my mum.😂
Mad how similar Wogan’s accent is to Neilsons.
They both have baritone voices and nice to listen to.
You know he’s gonna do it......you know he always has that fart machine.....it’s just a case of when! 😂😂😂
can we have the full interview please!!
"Today I Found Out" sent me.
Uttrly excellent
No tension there!
When you see a Leslie Nielsen interview you know the fart machine is coming.
You know as he was answering the questions he was thinking of when to fart at the right time
brilliantly funny
I MISS YOU MR. FRANK DREBIN.
It would've been great if Leslie had been invited on to Wogan's Radio 2 shows now & then.
Imagine Terry reading out a Janet & John story or two with Leslie letting rip & I think Leslie would've been laughing at the innuendo in the stories. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
See how they both tried to keep it in ........
Feb. 10, 1989
Proof that British people have a better sense of humor than Americans. When Leslie did the fart box gag on Letterman no one laughed until the 3rd or 4th one.
These guys got it right away lol
That's untrue. They laughed.
He was legally deaf but didn't talk like most people who are deaf so that is very interesting.
Leslie looked 75 for like 40 years
Are you cutting me a slice
Not acceptable today........sad sad world today ...loved Leslie
теперь понятны шутки про канадцев в Южном Парке. Спасибо Абрамсам и их коллегам, что в их фильмах не было канадских шуток.
loved that guy ,what a legend
"you look as fit as a flea" 😆
Leslie was the Creme De La Creme of Farters
One could say that he was the Farter of the nation. There is a little bit of Leslie in all of us.
is it my imagination or do they almost look related?
The thing is, Leslie was NOT a comedian.
He didn't do a set routine.
To me, Leslie was a wit.
He would find humor in a simple conversation.
I bet interviewers loved him because his wit made them seem funny.
He played off of people.
For me, that is a special genius.
Robin Williams was like that. Sure, he could do set stand up routines.
But, Robin really did his best when he was sitting with an interviewer, and just talking, and cracking up.
I just love witty people like them.

Let er' RIP, Leslie.
The fuckin fart machine lol
“Let ‘Er Rip”. God bless sir. Made me laugh so much as a youngster.
He always looked 80
Farts noises are always funny
Farts will never be unfunny, prove me wrong!
Dude thinks it smells 😂
I think It was fake impossible he did It in front of public .
...I am well mannered...faaaaart :D :)
That's my grandpa fartie
I wish he didn’t act like he actually was embarrassed, he should’ve brushed it off so there wouldn’t be so much tension
Is there really a fart machine or does he have the talent to fart at will?
Farts were never funnier...
