    Many years ago I had the privilege of living for about a year in Luebeck. It is an incredibly beautiful city. Thank you for your lovely tribute.

    Two more places to visit in Lübeck:
    - "Buddenbrookhaus": another interesting museum, Heinrich and Thomas Mann were born here.
    - "Brauberger": best place to have a beer in Lübeck.

      Three of my favourite places in entire luebeck are: Ms Quinn (i hope i spelled it right), The Games Workshop located in the Königsstraße right behind the Haerdercenter and Gandalph in the Wahmstraße right next to the Königsstraße

    I have been to Lubeck over 30 years ago.... An Aunt still lives there. I find your Observations and commentary.... Right On..... Well Done.... At the Rathous Square ... There used to be Pigeons (Tauben)... and I spent time feeding them as a child... Also rode the Lion Statues at the Holsten Tor.....

    Nice Summary: Don't forget to visit Travemuende, especially when the sun is out. It has a great beach, and is a very nice walkable town.

    I work in the Altstadt and love it a lot. Working in retail is a lot of fun because you get to talk to all the tourists. Actually I'm wondering if you went to Woolworth, Mark. I remember that we had some American customers at that point (talking about November 2015), but I only discovered your videos some days ago so I'm not sure if you were among those.

    If you're looking for a really good spot to grab some Marzipan, go check out the "Marzipan Speicher" near the Trave river. My family and I have been going there for years now everytime were on holiday to the Ostsee.

    Lovely video of Luebeck, Germany. Lots of things to see and do in Luebeck including visiting the Marienkirche and the UNESCO World Heritage old Town.
    Eating the Marzipan should be the highlight of your visit to Luebeck.
    The best Marzipan to purchase and eat are the ones that are hand made instead of the commercial ones.
    The former home of Willie Brandt Is that now a tourist attraction, or is it still a private home?
    When is the best time of the year to visit Luebeck as far as avoidings the crowds, and getting the best prices for travel to Germany and for accomadations in Luebeck.
    Would Christmas time be a good time to travel to Luebeck?

    • @rahena3014
      @rahena3014 7 років тому

      The Willy-Brandt-House is a museum now, so yes, tourist attraction. i've been there once and there were only few people, so at least it's not such a huge tourist trap...
      If you want to avoid crowds, don't come to Lübeck during Christmas time. Otherwise, it would be a great time because of our beautiful Weihnachtsmarkt. But I think, it's even more crowded than in summer... The best time to be in Lübeck and avoid crowds of tourists is supposably from January to April and September to mid-November, I'd say.

      BTW The home of marzipan is also Odense, Denmark, they also have a railway museum there and of course the famous house of HC Andersen.

    How do you spell the neighborhoods that were mentioned? I'd love to go, but I have no idea how to spell it so I can find it on a map. Thanks!

    • @Eledusk16
      @Eledusk16 4 роки тому

      The ones he mentioned were Füchtings Hof and Glandorps Gang. But basically you'd just have to walk down one of the major streets of the Altstadt (I recommend Hüxstraße and Glockengießerstraße) and look for some smaller alleys or little tunnel like gates

    • @woltersworld

      I don't know. If you like history and beautiful historical buildings then the city might have a few things to do.

    • @SkandikFilm
      @SkandikFilm 8 років тому

      +carol maron It's not a ghost town, but its not extraordinary either. I would definately go to the Lubeck christmas market in december, but for the summer I would rather pick Rostock, which has a more relaxed post-GDR shabby chic touch.
