Thanks for recommending bonobos. I went to their guide shop on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. These chinos look tailored OTR soooo good. My life has been changed! 😂 picked up 5 pairs of chino pants and 2 pair of their chino shorts. Thanks again.
Great video as always, ton of information but really easy to digest. I know these giant roundups (sneakers was good too) must be a lot of work, and putting the collection together isn't cheap either, but its a great format.
Chinos have become my go-to, I wear them more than jeans now. I wear a suit for work and usually stick to full suits in the fall/winter, but for summer dress code chinos are my go too: cooler, more comfortable, and easier to clean especially when you sweat in them.
I have a bunch from Uniqlo, I live in Japan so they are right around the corner, go on sale a lot, and always have free alterations in store (which is key for me because I wear ~29in length which is tough to find).

This is brilliant. Thank you so much for providing such an informative study. I basically live my life in chinos (mostly Banana Republic), and I found this super helpful. I think the Asket looks the best overall, but those Bonobos really make your bum look amazing. Because you like a slimmer cut, we often see lines beneath; it would be helpful if you said which style of underwear you are wearing (you don’t have to show them although I’m sure it would up the view count.. lol) but it would help yo know if visible lines are underwear lines, pocket lines or shirttail as some of those may be eliminate based upon what we wear. Awesome video and very informative. As a man who consistently pays the short-men tax, Uniqlo is a real winner for me. When they go on discount ($30, happen pretty often), they still shorten them for free (standard hem, +$5 for invisible hem). Sure, they aren't top quality but value-price ratio works for me!

As a tall (6'3) guy with skinny legs I had always been hesitant buying 'slim fit' 'skinny fit' 'tapered' pants thinking it'd exacerbate the issue and making me look worse but it turns out it's paradoxically best to buy snug fitting pants since they give my legs some contour. Straight cut just makes me look boxy.
It's good to see tall guys fashion examples out there, hence I'm digging your channel quite a bit!
As a taller person I find the hardest thing about pants fitting is the rise. Mid or high rise is what I need

Totally Asian lol! The cuts fit me horribly, lots of clothing stores are catering to the Chinese clientele specifically, I’m like 3 waist sizes up on uniqlo pants.

Fantastic video and channel; thanks for ask the hard work you put in! I'm looking to upgrade to the Bonobos chinos you mention in this video. I like the look, your review and that they offer so many for options, particularly there tailored fit.
I seem to have an issue with fade marks on my chinos where my everyday carry tends to sit, my phone is a big culprit of this. Any advice on preventing this from happening, aside from not putting a phone in my front pocket?

I'm digging 5 pocket pants for SS19 - particularly in lighter and/or brighter hues - they're like the Chelsea boots/loafers of pants, in my opinion, dress up/down, always comfortable. I would love to see a similar round-up of 5 pocket pants. In addition to the brands you mentioned here, I'm looking at Todd Snyder, Sid Mashburn, and Brooks Brothers and wonder what you think and what others are out there. Thanks for putting out a great channel and keeping it strong and relevant!

Hey, great review! Which chinos did you find have high enough waist to wear with a shirt tucked in properly? I find that many of the chinos you can find today have a rather low waist making it look quite awkward to tuck in a shirt with.
The rear split waist-band of the Ledbury makes them much easier to tailor the waist. This is especially important if you have larger thighs or if the pant is only offered in even numbered waist sizes
This is a great video. I almost exclusively wear Chinos. I'm glad to see Bonobos and BR at the op because those are go-tos.
Love the gap! Also it might be on the low end but targets brand good fellow has great cheap chinos that have lasted me over a year now!

Great video very informative. I agree that bonobos and banana republic are the best I give the upper hand to banana republic rapid movement chinos because they are more comfortable they seem to have more stretch then bonobos.
It is awesome to see reviews that involve one's extensive chino collection.
I used to own a few pairs of chinos from Lands' End (Tailored Fit - these were the first chinos I bought), but I was not quite pleased that there was no stretch. I currently own a few pairs of chinos from Banana Republic (Rapid Movement); they fit better (and look better, too).

Nice video; a lot of research! My favorite chinos are either by Brunello Cucinelli or Luigi Borrelli Napoli. The Cucinelli ones are impeccably designed and sewn. The Borrelli ones are all completely handsewn and feel incredible; plus there's nothing more beautiful or comfortable than hand stitching!
How much are these Chinos you speak of?
@@shellcrackerlover5889 For retail both are WAAAAY out of my price range, with Borrelli costing $400-500/pair and Cucinelli at $700+; but out you have time and patience, you can often get either on yoox for far less. Often even >$100!
I'll tell you what, my first pair of Cucinelli chinos changed my perspective on what I thought to be overpriced. Then experiencing the handcrafted quality of the Borrelli chinos simply blew my mind. For me, now that this door has been opened, there's no going back, I'm afraid...
Very helpful. I bought chinos at Men's Warehouse. One wash and one wear and I can tell they're not going to last long.
Great video. I'm surprised no one ever mentions Mango, who offers great colors in their chinos, and their fabric has a good feel for the MSRP of $69. The downside is they offer only one long 34"-ish length. BTW, be careful with Banana Republic's tailoring, as the measurements are conducted by the sales associate who are NOT trained. Therefore not worth the savings.
I know it was on the much more expensive side, but it would've been nice to include the Unis Gio here. It's always been revered as an awesome high end pick and I wanted to see what you thought of it.
Interesting video. Please consider including Dockers next time, and emphasize the fit. Although Bonobos may be made well, their fit doesn't work for me, and I think when one is talking about the "best," one has to specify best for whom. BTW, when I see the outline of pockets on the outside of pants, I think the fit is too tight or the material too thin. Plus, I sense men moving away from slim pants toward tapered cuts that allow more room around the hips and thighs.
I myself have found it odd that Dockers are never included in any of these videos considering they are actually known for making Chinos.

Thanks, Sneakk! Very good point, however he's done other comparison videos on chinos, too. The video your referencing was specifically on men's wool dress pants and was not nearly so all-encompassing as this one. I suppose it sort of applies if you're broadly defining Chinos as any non-wool, non-jean pants that can be dressed up. However, there seems to be a lot of middle ground and brands untapped.
I will do a more detailed round-up. Last wool pant video did not include some standards that should be considered.

Great video! Do you have any recommendations for chinos that have more of a mid rise?! Most chinos or khakis I find are lower cut and I don’t lean toward that style with tucking my shirt in. Thank you for any suggestions!!

These Jomers are no chinos. They are called 5-pocket pants, well in Europe that is. They have jeans-style front pockets.
I noticed that, too and have seen other pants called the same at home in the US.

Great video! Really well done comparison of benefits or issues from brand to brand. I am also a huge Bonobos fan not only in chinos but also weekday warriors and their golf line. they offer fantastic assorted fits, remarkable color offerings and a great spread of stretch, summer weight etc. The BR Aldens are also my personal #2 for most of the benefits that you shared,.
