I literally have no idea how I got algo'd for this video, but this may be one of the best review videos I've ever seen. Simple, straightforward, consistent comparisons.
Thanks for your comment. I hope it was helpful. If you need a shirt… here’s a similar review: ua-cam.com/video/Mrqf09vQNFA/v-deo.htmlsi=Q6HjC2DoevQ0z4Cv
Sir, you have no idea how much better this video than literally all the other men’s fashion videos out there. No yelling, jumping up and down, pushing sponsored trash etc. Absolutely golden information.
Except for the info on pants. I cannot recommend polyester. Choose cotton, wool - natural materials - with a very low percentage of Elasthan, polyamid or polyester.
I got two pairs of DKNY performance Fred tech pants from Nordstrom rack online. I walk 6-8miles while working everyday at the hospital lifting medical equipment bending down to check connections. They’re my absolute favorite to wear and I bought a second pair to go out in the town with they’re honestly the best I’ve ever worn. I’m 6’2, 210lbs muscular male 44 years old. Pants were $25, $33 with shipping.
i never leave comments but props to this video and the overlap of straight forward pros/cons with each pair. kind of surprised no western rise pants. only thing missing would be a (somewhat subjective) rating - thanks so much!
Awesome vid. I've been using bluffworks since I retired in 2018. My only complaint is they are a little loud when walking (polyester whooshing) as the pant legs brush vs each other. I have chinos in 3 colors, 4 jeans, 1 5-pocket pants, 1 dress pant, and 2 sport coats. Awesome company with great customer service
Great video!!! My major problem is low rise. Almost all these fashion brands go to a low rise which is horrible for me because I feel like my pants are always falling off. I hate wearing belts but forced to use a ratchet belt to deal with this ongoing issue. I wish more companies would make midrise and advertise that fact for us guys with belt issues
Thanks for your comment. I would definitely check out WoodiesClothing.com I didn't include them on my Pants video... but I plan to do a review very soon. They offer customized made-to-measure performance pants where you can specify your exact measurements (including rise). Certainly worth a try if your worried about the right fit. Good luck.
Of these pants I only own BYLT and Lululemon. I like both a lot, but I think the BYLT ones are my favorite. I’m a pediatric physical therapist so I enjoy how stretchy the BYLT pants are, but I agree with the pockets. I’ll have to try some of the other ones you recommend.
Thank you Brad, I followed your advice and tried Bluffworks. I've now bought two of their travel pants, two chinos, and will be picking up the Presido suit on Monday from the tailor. You helped this 54-year-old guy find new work wear for his aging dad bid!
I've had a lot of luck with Bylt pants and shirts. They are definitely a brand that fits thinner/athletic bodies better. They are very slim fitting and I have chicken legs, so its a good match for me personally. definitely depends on your body size as to how much you'll like bylt. I do agree that they are more casual in style, I wouldn't wear them to work but they look great for a night out. The pockets are slightly smaller than average, but they have a nice hidden pocket on the side of your leg that works well for carrying my phone, and shockingly it isn't very noticeable or cheap looking. Great video btw!
Thanks for your comments. Just not a fan of Bylt compared to some of the other performance pants on this list. If I were comparing them to jeans or traditional chino's, I think they would probably be OK. To each his own... Bylt may work OK for some people.
@bradball I thought your video was very accurate, all great feedback. I think bylt just works for me due to my specific body, as they cater to my chicken legs lol. I look forward to your next clothing reviews!
I have the Jack Archers and the Lululemon pants. I think they’re comparable but the Lululemon fit better with the inseam being a bit short on the Jack Archer. Speaking of pricing games, the reason I pulled the trigger on the Jack Archer pants was because the prices dropped to $52 when I added them to my cart… I thought it was too good to be true.
Great video. Will go watch the shirts one also. I already have Jack Archers and they are great. Just a tad bit thin at the waist, but the stretch helps a lot. I would wonder about the Vouri meta pants comparison also. As I really like their shorts & polos
Thanks so much for your informative reviews. This and last year's dress shirt list are both exceptional in terms of the thoroughness, organization, and thoughtfulness. I'd not heard of Bluffworks until watching the shirt video and have found them to be as great as advertised, and I also love getting new ideas from your videos. Much appreciated and I hope to see more videos like this! Perhaps performance five-pocket pants? All the best.
Great reviews! Both your Dress Shirts and Performance Pants videos cover brands that I have been researching for a while. You have convinced me to try a brand that I've been waiting to pull the trigger on. Thank you! Keep the review series going! I enjoy watching videos like this to help enhance my wardrobe. Items like dress/performance pants, dress shirts, polos, etc are a staple of any gentlemen's closet. Looking forward to your next review!
Great reviews! For the last 10 years i’ve worn under armour golf pants. I love them and they held up beautifully. Lightweight, 3 season, never crush and the slim leg fit is perfect. At my age, i gave up jeans a long time ago. These are my every day casual slack paired with a polo or an untuckit
As a long time customer, I can say that Bluffworks is the best. Your review is spot on. They are easy to wash and even spot clean while traveling. They look great in all but the most formal settings yet perform on the trail.
Thanks for going to the effort on this. And expense. I bought Bluffworks the year they started, but found them to have too much static cling. But the fit and quality were great.
I love the Rhone product. Couldn’t tell you how many I own. I have been buying them for 10 years. I have the Gotham style which are a little heavier and dressier and the Resort style which are a little lighter and cooler for warmer weather. I have both styles in multiple colors. They just really perform well. AT full price they are on the expensive side, but I have always gotten at least a 20% discount or better.
I know you didn't end up caring much for Bylt, but I ended up trying them a few months back and I loved them! I agree the pockets aren't deep enough, and since they're so smooth my phone tends to fall out sometimes, but other than that I love the fit and the stretch of the pants! Probably wouldn't wear them to work on a regular basis since I think they're too casual to wear with a button-down/Oxford type shirt, but pair it with a nice polo or fitted shirt and it looks sharp! Appreciate the video otherwise I wouldn't have been aware of all the different brands that were out there.
Best channel ever, agree on the Jack Archer! I started out with Bylt pants and they are just ok, agree totally on the too stretch comment. Jack Archer is my #1 but I've been looking for something similar that's a little dressier and are going to buy the Bluffworks now, they look like what I've been looking for. My #2 to the jack archer right now is the Bonobos Performance Link golf pant, they dont scream too much like a "golf pant". Question, any opinion on the Ultra-Stretch 24/7 Smart Chino? They're at a good price point and look like a good "WFH" option when you need something that can pair with a button up
I ordered a pair of Bluffworks Envoys based on your recommendation and just wanted to thank you for turning me onto these. They are a tad dressier than what I normally wear but they definitely blow the Lululemon ABC pants out of the water. Appreciate the content!
Thanks for the review. I also don’t understand why Lululemon wouldn’t put a stretch waist on the pants. When I told the retail associate, they just had a confused look on their face, and I felt like I was crazy. 😂
I enjoyed your video, I ordered the truwear and lululemon, I like the material on lulus felt high quality but I would have liked the sticky waist grabber and also a bit baggy, I also ordered the truwear they definitely run small with slim fit the material like polyester they won’t wrinkle.
Thanks for sharing. I went with Lululemon ABC pants, but the waist band is an issue, but I am also 10 lbs heavier than I usually am so this might fix itself.
Thank you for such amazing content. This is exactly the video that I’ve been looking for!! Very grateful. ❤❤❤❤ The Jack Archer pants had strange pockets. They flared out when you took your hands out of them!
Give the Vuori Meta pants a try as well! I just ordered a pair to try versus my Lululemon ABCs which I like for comfort, stretch and non-iron but they don't look super formal, okay for business casual and casual though.
Thanks for the BluffWorks recommendation. I have their Ascender chinos and have been wondering about their Envoy lightweight pants. The Ascender chinos have worked great for me. I wish the “slim fit” was just slightly more tapered.
Just ran across this video. Some interesting choices and nice review. I have been wearing Union Bay performance pants for 6 years daily including several multi month long trips to EU and the middle east in July and August. These work great in summer or winter, are nice and stretchy, water resistant coating is good for water and mild stains. Zipper pockets on rear and side cargo like pocket that help with pickpocket areas. They sell for $36 online and hold up great. I had 1 rear zipper fail but zero other issues in 6 years. Limited sizes and colors and they feel kind of cheap but they hold up so well I no longer have any concerns.
I’ve seen their pants and almost picked up a pair… but the ones I’ve seen are too casual for my liking… I personally won’t buy cargo pants or pants that I can’t dress up with a blazer. I’ll have to take a closer look to see if they have an offering that’s just a little dressier. Thanks for your comment.
Great video and thank you for the information. I’m going to be going with the Jack Archer pants and I just wanted to know if they’re true to size or should I size up? I’m usually a 38 but I’m worried due to the pants being slim if I need to get 40
Bro your videos are very useful and I can see you are a sincere person! I hope you review the Gash Hao, I like the price and the look of it but I don't know about the quality of it
I watched this with great interest because I've got 2 pairs of Bluffworks in the mail, so it was great to see them come out on top. Looking forward to getting mine!
Great video. I bought a pair of the BYLT pants last year and returned them immediately, so I definitely agree with that rating. My current favorites in my closet are my Lululemon, that don't have the line on the knee, and my Banana Republic Traveler Pants, from the actual store, not Costco. Looks like I need to try the Bluffworks as well.
Small detail that's not covered idten, belt loops. Five is typical but have noticed pants with 6 or 7 loops fit better, especially fir all day wear or if loading pockets for hiking or travel.
I was able to find five pairs of ABC Lulus on sale about 1/2 price. Three warpstreme and two utilitech. With my first responder discount they were under $60 each. One, the ABC Commission Warpstreme will be used for work instead of scrub bottoms. Can’t beat that!!!
I wear mostly Lululemon, back knee seam doesn't bother me a bit. I kind of even prefer it after 5-6 pairs I had. Discovered Rhone Resort pants not long ago, very light and stretchy. Will wear Rhone Resort in the warmer days.
I agree with the BYLT review. I don't trust the back pockets to put my wallet in and go out for the night because it will fall out. Actually, the first night I ever wore them, my wallet fell out of the back pocket. So I don't feel comfortable wearing them for a night out and especially while drinking.
Just a question on the slim fit Bluffworks Envoy Travel Pants...what size are you wearing and how do they feel in the hip and crotch area? Just trying to guage size as I'm a 40x32 and prefer a slim fit in the legs but like some room in the waist, hip and crotch area.
I’m a 38x30. I like the Bluffworks best, but sizing may vary with any brand. I feel like Bluffworks and Jack Archer were the best fit for me. Most have generous return policies.
Great reviews. I spent all of this holiday season shopping for "travel pants." Without watching your review I still went with Bluffworks Envoy and 5 Pocket Pants. Western Rise seemed like the next strongest contender. Try a pair. I would be interested in knowing what you think. I think the best comment you made had to be about getting Slim Fit pants. Again, great reviews.
I'll definitely have to try Western Rise. I was somewhat familiar with them, but couldn't including everything in this video. Tentatively planning to start a UA-cam channel soon that focuses solely on menswear... might be a good video to try.
Brad, Thanks for the video. I’m new to your channel. Have you ever performed a review of Public Rec’s Workday Pants? I’d appreciate your thoughts if you have.
Bylt 2.0 are my favorite pants but you are right about the pockets! Wish they had shorter length options I’m 32/30 but only 5’7. They have tall models with the ankles showing like i Iike so I can show off my shoes more.
No entrants from Kuhl? They are my go to for performance/travel pants. They have a superior pocket layout, good stretch, and they work best of any I've tried for athletic builds (small waist muscular legs).
Have you found any with a mobile phone pocket? I have some Dockers shorts that have a slotted pocket directly on the hip about six inches down from the waist. It is the perfect place for a mobile phone, never is an issue when I sit. I am so surprised that manuf. have not figured out that men carry cell phones and we need to sit in a chair. Yes, deep pockets work but it is not so comfortable.
Bluffworks has the most (and best) pockets for mobile phones / passports, etc. I’m sure there are some true cargo pants out there with some good options as well… but for dress style pants, I’d definitely check out Bluffworks.
Thanks for running through so many different pants and providing a nice consistent comparison. I'm curious, did you run across Ministry of Supply pants? I'd be interested in your take on those. BTW, I really like Bluffworks and Western Rise pants.
I have owned a pair of Ministry of Supply pants. It was a few years back so I didn’t include them as part of this review. My recollection of them is pretty good…. I believe they would have fallen in the upper half of these rankings… but (in reality) I should probably pick up another pair.
I was gifted the Bylt pants last year and never wore them since they're a medium and a little big on me. But noticed I had them just sitting in the closet so wore them today and it's the most comfortable pant I've worn in years. I thought the pockets were a little small at first but I have a S23 Ultra with a bulky case and I can fit the whole thing in my pocket with room left over so idk...if you have anything bigger than that I'd expect most pant pockets to be too small. The pockets are also stretchy so perhaps they are larger than one might think. Even with a little too large of a size, the cut is flattering so should be even better when I get a better size (also they seem to have proper waist sizes now instead of letter sizes). The material is maybe too casual; hard to tell. I have them in Storm so maybe if I get something a little darker they'll look less like a jogger. Also after having them sitting in my closet for literally a year, they are barely wrinkled. There are also significantly more color choices than the other brands, from what I saw; most seem to have just black, gray, navy, and sometimes a green...so unless you literally never use any other colors, you'd have to go with multiple brands anyway. That said, the Jack Archers look quite nice and more like a chino, at a better price, so might give those a try as well.
Thanks for your comment. My experience with Bylt was a bit different. Unusual Pockets really bothered me. In all fairness, I compared them to other performance pants whereas I’d still probably prefer wearing the Bylt pants over a standard pair of dockers or old school chino’s without any stretch.
@@bradball I did pair them with some boots though and the material difference really stands out as a tech pant, especially with the opening literally squeezing the top of the boot rather than falling nicely around it. Hesitant to buy more for Winter, but probably would be a daily item in Summer with more casual shoes. Did a lot of research and am considering the Bluffworks and Banana Republic pants as better options when pairing with boots.
Thank you for the kind words. I picked it up at a menswear retailer in Antwerp, Belgium a couple of years back. I believe it was from this company (not sure if they ship to the states or anywhere outside of Europe) : www.wamdenim.com/blazers
Beware of Bird Dogs! I had an issue with sizing which is unusual for me. The problem became I never received a refund for the pair I returned. Return was acknowledged but refund never came. Many requests later; no help. I’m out $120. I subsequently got a pair of Jack Archer and really liked them… bought two more pairs.
You just saved me a bunch of time, money, and discomfort. I've been looking for some performance pants.
Thanks!
Thanks for watching. Glad you liked it!

You are very thorough and fair minded. This review was a treat. Thank you so much.

Thanks for watching and I surely appreciate your comment. I'll have to keep my eyes on Western Rise for a future review.
Best review. Finally, some details! He's a good man...and thorough.
I love Jack Archer. But I cannot get over the non-locking fly zipper.
The best UA-cam video I have seen all year! Thank you for doing the hard work for me and making my travel life & look way better.
Thanks for your kind words.
I got some lee pants years ago, the fact that you mentioned them makes me a believer in you
Awesome vid.

Is it me, or does the presenter look best in the Bylt as well?
Thank you Brad, I followed your advice and tried Bluffworks. I've now bought two of their travel pants, two chinos, and will be picking up the Presido suit on Monday from the tailor. You helped this 54-year-old guy find new work wear for his aging dad bid!
Thanks for watching… hope the suit works out!

Excellent video, Brad. Just wondering what that brown belt is that you are wearing. I need a nicer belt like that. Thanks
I have the Jack Archers and the Lululemon pants. I think they’re comparable but the Lululemon fit better with the inseam being a bit short on the Jack Archer.

I bought the truwear pants. Fantastic product. Very comfortable and have a sophisticated vibe abou them.
Hope the work out well.

Appreciate the work you put into this. It’s a brave new world for commuter slacks
Thank you for indexing. Great video

amazing review! could you also do a review of performance 5-pocket pants?
Love the reviews! Curious if you tried the Lululemon smooth twill pants?
I ordered a pair of Bluffworks Envoys based on your recommendation and just wanted to thank you for turning me onto these. They are a tad dressier than what I normally wear but they definitely blow the Lululemon ABC pants out of the water. Appreciate the content!
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching.
Maybe the best review I have ever seen on YT. THANK YOU
Thanks for the review. I also don’t understand why Lululemon wouldn’t put a stretch waist on the pants. When I told the retail associate, they just had a confused look on their face, and I felt like I was crazy. 😂

@@Dan11111-p yep… they’d be top tier if it weren’t for the wasteband!
Great quality video and thanks for introducing brands that I had never heard of much appreciated
The Under Armour iso chill tapered golf pant is one I absolutely love. That is what I just 80% of the time.
Thank you for such amazing content. This is exactly the video that I’ve been looking for!! Very grateful. ❤❤❤❤
The Jack Archer pants had strange pockets. They flared out when you took your hands out of them!
Give the Vuori Meta pants a try as well! I just ordered a pair to try versus my Lululemon ABCs which I like for comfort, stretch and non-iron but they don't look super formal, okay for business casual and casual though.

THanks for watching. Stay tuned... more review planned.
Thank you. Very worthwhile information.
Great job!! I sent back one of these brands and started to do my research in order to get it right. This helped a lot!!
The zipper on the Lululemons is actually a YKK zipper which is basically the gold standard in quality pants zippers.
I am wearing free fly pants right now. Light weight summer pants good stretch and stretch in the waistband only bad is shallow pockets
Great video, but I'm surprised that the Vuori Meta pant didn't make the list. My current favorite pants.
Not included… but on my short list for an upcoming review. Stay tuned.
I look forward to it.
Great job dude. Saved me a ton of headaches.
Great video and thank you for the information. I’m going to be going with the Jack Archer pants and I just wanted to know if they’re true to size or should I size up? I’m usually a 38 but I’m worried due to the pants being slim if I need to get 40
IMO they fit to size. Slim means the taper and no baggy butt. Just don’t by the “skinny” which will be tight
Size is pretty true with Jack Archer. The waistband is also forgiving. I think you’ll enjoy them!
Bro your videos are very useful and I can see you are a sincere person! I hope you review the Gash Hao, I like the price and the look of it but I don't know about the quality of it
Thanks men, but one question what you think about the vineyard pants?
Did a great job on showing us how the hands in the pockets really gave the pants “ elephant ears” look. I vote none of the above.
I watched this with great interest because I've got 2 pairs of Bluffworks in the mail, so it was great to see them come out on top. Looking forward to getting mine!

I agree with the BYLT review. I don't trust the back pockets to put my wallet in and go out for the night because it will fall out. Actually, the first night I ever wore them, my wallet fell out of the back pocket. So I don't feel comfortable wearing them for a night out and especially while drinking.
Agree... for me they're now relegated to Saturdays working-in-the-yard.
Excellent Review ! Very thorough. Thanks Brad
Lots of unheard of great finds. Including pants for the vertically challenged like me. Thank you for the amazing work !
Thanks for your kind comments.
Do the bluffworks fit true to size. The find your size on the website indicated to go a size down for your waist size. Is this correct? Thanks
Yes… I’ve found that Bluffworks runs true.
Brad, Thanks for the video. I’m new to your channel. Have you ever performed a review of Public Rec’s Workday Pants? I’d appreciate your thoughts if you have.
I’ve had a lot of requests for Public Rec… plan to do a review sometime soon. Thanks for watching.
I re❤ally like the Pub Recs. I have several pair of the workday and Everyday. They are second to my LuLus
best stretch trousers are from Sulfit clothing great fit and quality. Nice modern fit.
Thanks for the recommendation. I'll have to check them out.
For the John Archer pants are you talking or which one do you recommend - slim fit or Regular fit??
I recommend slim fit for Jack Archer.
Bylt 2.0 are my favorite pants but you are right about the pockets! Wish they had shorter length options I’m 32/30 but only 5’7. They have tall models with the ankles showing like i Iike so I can show off my shoes more.
Did you try blyt executive pant? I have been looking at them.
Did you get the regular or slim fit Jack Archer pants? I’m 5’9” 205 lbs.
Slim fit will work fine… as long as you’ve got the right inseam and waist. I’m about your height… but I’ve got 20+ pounds on you.
Do any of the Lulu pants (e.g., ABC) have stretch waistbands?
I have yet to find any LuLu Lemon pants with flexible waistbands. It's their fatal flaw... been looking for years, but they don't exist!
I saw your helpful video a couple of hours ago and went out to Kohls and purchased some Izod's for $35 and they fit great! Thanks so much!
Thanks for your comment. Glad it worked out.
No entrants from Kuhl? They are my go to for performance/travel pants. They have a superior pocket layout, good stretch, and they work best of any I've tried for athletic builds (small waist muscular legs).
Solid video! Any thoughts on Public Rec?
Looking forward to trying Public Rec and reviewing in the next few months
@@bradball Love Public Rec just wished there was a bit more room at the ankles.
Amazing vid! Been struggling to find proper chinos
This is a really helpful video. Thank you!
Great review. Loved the format
Glad you enjoyed it! Stay tuned for more.
Saved me a ton of time, thank you!
Levi's 501's. Been wearing them since I was ten.
Solid video/info playboy.
You r a good human being, took time to explain!
Great video. Very helpful.
Dang, now I’m torn between Jack Archers and Bluffworks lol
Probably can’t go wrong with either!
do both
Great video, nicely done
Been looking to replace my public rec pants since they seemingly too want to make a big push towards golf wear
very nice and thorough review. subbed
Much appreciated!
Nice blazer, where can I find it?
Thank you for the kind words. I picked it up at a menswear retailer in Antwerp, Belgium a couple of years back. I believe it was from this company (not sure if they ship to the states or anywhere outside of Europe) :

Redhead Ultimate work pants are the best pants money can buy IMO
I loves my LuLus but have some Public Recs that are excellent.
Where have you been all my life haha. Thank you so much for this review!
Very informative!
