I'm pretty sure this is exactly what's up with my 81 Evinrude 9.9. The throttle is really stiff,and the shifter won't shift out of neutral. It has been sitting for 14 years.

I watch almost all of your videos you put out to get more info on Johnson/evinrude outboards since I have 1993 90hp v4. Have you ever done a video on a link and sync for my motor or would you possibly do one one the future?

Ok, I'm gonna watch the video now heh!
Owners manuals can be had even though they are hard to find time to time but service manuals are really hard to come by as not as many of them where printed. I was able to find a service manual like you needed a few yrs back on e-bay look to amazon also.
Hi! I have been working on a boat with an evenrude 1983 outboarder. I have a problem with the throttle. At some point it went full throttle but was a little ” jumpy” And then after 30 min i could not get it to go full speed. It wont reach high rpm. Do you have an idea of what the issue could be ?
Hey Brandon I have what I believe to be a 1979 55hp of this model but can not find much about it has the same dom fly wheel as this one and same stator could this mean it is a newer model it dose not have its plug on the motor it however has the Plark transom mount I’m from Australia I would be happy to send you a email with photos I would love to know what it is as I’m nearly finished my restoration. Hi Brandon, Do you have in your archives a video on properly installing and adjusting the throttle and shift cables? On my 1992 115 the control box ends are fixed but there are adjustment wheels at the motor end. Was wondering if there is a proper way they need to be adjusted at that end. Noticed the emergency primer leaver is in normal position. Do you have to service (clean) them after sitting for a while like this engine did?

Thanks! I also had a stator leaking very sticky black goo onto the timing base making the throttle mechanism very stiff.
Omc (bombardier) “moly lube” on crankcase boss (light coat) and outboard 50/1 oil on Delrin plastic ring. Blue loctite on plate screws.

Really like ths video. Ths was the same problem I had on my 70hp except my spring was broken.
