Thanks for sharing this great experience. I just started longboarding at the age of 51 (with reasonable previous experience). You have really encouraged me to pursue my next goal, which is to do a 70 mile overnight trip. I am hoping to do this with regular long board and I am thinking of having the front of the board carry the weight of water and few cans of food. I will carry the credit card for the hotel. Thanks again (Good to know I am not alone and I am not crazy!)

Biggest disadvantage of doing a long-distance longboard trip with an electric board in Germany ---> It’s illegal. Should the Police catch you, it’ll get very, very expensive.

@@ARTVENTUREFILMS Please don’t get me wrong... I fully support e-boards and the e-transportation revolution, and actually ride one myself (in Germany, actually), but it’s actually a lot more difficult to ride these boards here, than in other countries.
How did you manage to stay under the radar and not get caught? I’ve heard some horror stories from friends who ride, so I’m always super paranoid when I ride the e-board (though it’s quite stealthy) in the city.

I actually never heard of any stories but i barely know anyone that has an electric longboard..
On my trip, i was lucky enough to have had the company in my back and it probably would've made for a good story if i was caught..

Somone I know got caught and got his driving licence temporarly taken away, dont know for how long though.
Your big trips are so cool... Iv done big trips on a dirt bike but a long board is just so crazy!! I watched your big trip and couldn't believe you were pumping and not on a electric lol!

This was really good. Hope your channel grows. I just subscribed. I just got a longboard after many years. At first, I thought about going straight into an electric one. But getting back the basics was well worth it for me to get one that I had to manually push which I definitely enjoy it because it's rewarding like you said.
I think if you're just cruising and want to just chillax and be super low-key lazy. An electric one is fun to take up and down a flat road where it can be quite boring lol. Not pushing and having the motor do the work let's your enjoy carving endlessly.
Overall I really enjoyed this video and you hit everything.

I just recently got my electric longboard and it has been a blast. So many cool areas around my house I didn’t even know about. And it is actually pretty tiring riding an electric longboard.

Really cool trip! But if you would drive just the electric one, build an electric board with a huge battery instead of paying such expensive battery packs 😜

Good point. I probably would've thought about other possibilities if I didn't get the board and batteries sponsored for the trip.
How about this idea. Use a motor mountamd belt on a non electric sketeboard but instead of a motor devise some way to mount servo activated brake on a rotating cylinder. Would that ever be possible to make it work?

Can you use an electric longboard as a normal board when it's off or has no battery left?
Yes you can with most. Some have a bit of a drag because they're driven with a belt, but some have little to no drag, because the motors are within the wheels :)
I choose electric cause it will be a lot of fun but when the battery’s die just ride it like a normal longboard or just modify your longboard to charge your electric

yeah that is a great combination! The only downside is that your longboard is heavier but i think electric is really cool too!

It was an electric longboard made by mellowboards. I connected with one of their employees and was able to use their board for the trip. Couldn't keep it unfortunately.
