Linda's voice is so unbelievable! There have been many great female singers over the years - in different genres and in different decades. But none of them have covered as many styles as Linda over such a long period of time - 40+ years. That makes Linda the greatest singer of all time in my opinion. Besides the voice, her beauty and grace is unmatched. Happy Valentine' Day Linda! I will be your prince. Oh how I wish. Hope you are well. I will love you always.
What other female singer from the late '60's to the present has a recorded output of such a variety of styles? It's great to hear the changes in Linda's voice from the stone poneys to Mad Love LP to the 3 standard Lp's, 2 Spanish Lps, Latin CD(Frenesi),Trio, Pirates of Penzance, La Boheme,Jazz(hummin to myself) and the Zozo sisters. So much range and emotion. Plus all these Gems posted here!
This was the movie of my childhood, I used to cry when the song started playing at the end of the film in Barbara's version, now I'm 21 years old, I know there are many things and people to know, sadly, a few days ago I finished one 3-year relationship, and after this time without him I now realize the damage he did to me during those years, and the worst damage he could have done to me when we broke up, the psychological abuse I had to experience. Before him, my previous ex-boyfriend, he had broken up with me and he had hurt me a lot, I had never felt pain like this, now at this moment in my life and what I have had to go through lately, divorces, cheating, abuse, deaths, my vision of love has changed in an extremely unexpected way, now I no longer know what to expect, I no longer know what love has become for much of the world, I know love and I have no doubt that it exists, but and now What does love mean to others? Why not accept and respect the commitment that love entails?
I was always singing, moment by moment, all day long. My mother frowned down on music. I remember having this old record used by door to door salesmen and JW Bible people. One would crank it up by a handle, and start the record. I had only 3 records, two orchestras like War Saw Concerto but I also had Mario Lanza. I would sing with Mario Lanza, then try to sing the song, "Some day my Prince will come." I would never have been able to reach those high notes without practicing Mario Lanza.
I wish I had this video played at my wedding 17yr ago, I should had blue veils with lights and when song ended some kind of blue glitter fall gentle like fairy dust.
@Jarred Knox Disagree. Linda is an amazing singer, no doubt. Barbra has had a very long prime, very far past the 70s. Even her most recent album still had some amazingly beautiful singing. For me, Barbra's purity and elegance of tone and impeccable dynamics lift it a notch above Linda's version of this song.
@@joelangford7601Nope. I agree with the first comment. Linda's version is better. Barbara is great but her version grows loud and too much bellow. And the orchestra is too overwhelming. Linda's version is softer and more intimate and fits the delicate mood of the composition.

WOW! I never heard her sing this, it might be her finest vocal, ever. What an amazing talent.
Don't forget the fantastic Nelson Riddle collaborations and "Cry Like the Rainstorm.." CD..
The greatest, most diverse female vocalist of her generation.
Beautifully done Linda, still love you.
simply a great popular singer
Just stunning.
What a beautiful video, and what a voice......THANK YOU
This is the best performance of this song I've heard - and seen.
LibraryUser61 listen to lena horne's version
Lena was terrific Bernard but Linda was the best.
beautiful
Wow. Great vocals.
Gorgeous voice.
Linda singing this song is so ironic for a woman so feisty and independent who never married. I think she'd be the one who rescued the prince.
Well she found a frog, but got gazumped by a pig.
Used to sing this in our terrace with a garden when I was just a young teen ager..: ) It makes me smile...to hear it again.
What a voice!!
Gorgeous voice - great singer.
This was from the special _"*Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'* Golden Anniversary"_, aired as part of The Magical World of Disney in December 1987

Oh my goodness...this is so magical - I am utterly speechless.
from folk, rock to standards...she's fantastic.

I love Linda's voice, but she does get a little froggy-voiced sometimes. I've been nuts about her for decades.
What a stupid comment.😂 That wasn't even a nice try.
