Definitely not an Oprah fan but I don't know what it is about Lisa Ling.she listens and she tries to understand, see it through others eyes...very open minded and great reporter. Much Luv from Az❤️
I never thought 30 years ago that I wouldn't love Oprah. The wealthier she got, the more out if touch and judgemental she got! Totally can't stand her!!!
The girl was 10 years old, she should be thought about consequences and lying, the police, that did not do a proper in dept investigation, needs to answer. They settle for the lazy answer
I don't know how Travis is staying calm. Wow, when Lisa Ling's digging and uncovering couldn't help him. His mom needs love from all of us, sending some her way💕
I have seen SO many true crime shows where people have MURDERED someone and got less time in jail, and little to no restrictions after they were released. This is ridiculous.
Lisa really is the new Barbara Walters. No one comes close to her non-judgemental and empathetic reporting. The fact that she sometimes gets emotional shows she actually cares.
District Attorney's abuse of power....a true demon in the making. Wonder how he was rewarded for being so evil. It is shameful that he still had to agree to indecent exposure when he did nothing wrong. This is shameful that he was forced to suffer so many years of prison. I am ashamed of this country. My heart goes out to his mother and to Travis. The evil continues
They want him to admit to something he said he didn’t do plus something that wasn’t proven by the court because he just automatically plead guilty without further investigation
There is a very good documentary made by Frontline about the use and abuse of plea deals, it may look like a solution at first but it will follow you forever.
Plea deals are good when you're guilty, but they want to trick people to take them, so it's less work, no investigation, no trial. People like Travis are easy to trick by saying that he will go home. DA and his lawyer should be held accountable for that.
Punishment did not fit the crime. Most of the time it’s the other way around with predators. look at the guy in the UK that assaulted more than 200 men… He’s eligible for parole at 60…
He ‘fondled’ a ten year olds boogies and she is traumatized for life. I am not buying that story. First of all, ten? Bo0bs? No. Also, it traumatized her for life? No, it didn’t. What traumatized her was lying and ruining his life.
Yet, my ex-husband literally got a slap on the hand as 2nd time offender. He didn't have to register or spend longer than 1 hr in jail. He IS free to do what he wants. That isn't right.
Wow, what a sad Life for a child, that's really sick....and the Statistic proofed that almost 80% of S.. Offenders are Family or close Friends, so good Luck 😉
That little girl was in love with him and therefore sat on his lap and when he pushed her off she got her little feelings hurt and then made up this outrageous story. Just my opinion!
You are probably right, but the girl was 10 years old , for what she did she needs to be thought about lying and accusing and consequences, maybe grounded, but she was a child acting childishly. The adults : the DA, the police , that didn't make a deep enough investigation, the lawyer, they are the ones that send Travis in prison, they hold the majority of the blame.
The damage my brother and friends had on me was tremendous. My m9ther and authorities ruined my life forever. They will never be held accountable. Plus, they all have tons of money!!!
Doesn’t that present another problem though? The same crime… you either get 20 years behind bars or 5 years probation. If a crime is so serious that 20 years incarcerated is the punishment if you break probation.. then does 5 years probation fit the bill as an alternative? & vice versa. If the court is comfortable sentencing someone to 5 years probation.. is them breaking probation worth 20 years incarcerated?
@@amyj4811this is so cleverly put. If it’s that serious, why is it possible to avoid prison time at all? The pendulum has to swing so far between 5 years probation and 20 years incarceration 😕
I've been a supporter of Travis till now, but im starting to get doubts and question marks about his supposed lewd behaviour. Either he's guilty or very unlucky!!!
I can’t watch this I can’t believe how America is fighting for criminals what about the non criminals Travis was old enough to know not to touch a 10 year old period
I agree and his mom is an enabler some people get caught the first time if he had been a repeated offender everyone would be upset he will offend again just wait
Thing is, cases like Travis's are very politically expedient, they can look like they are being very tough on crime while not actually doing much. Travis was also stupid and took a plea deal when he had every chance to fight it in court, but he was scared and didn't realize the implications of taking a plea deal, so he didn't even have a chance to fight his case. Innocent people get convicted all the time because of this, because the criminal justice system punishes you if you can't afford a good lawyer, your lawyer has a good incentive to encourage you to take a ple deal, guilty or not, the risk of going to trial often makes a plea deal a better chance of getting the whole thing over with quickly.
Judges are elected in texas, thats partly why he got the fire and brimstone sentence, and the appeal judge wouldnt take a the brand for making things easy for a ln RSO
The so-called victim admitted to her father she had exaggerated what had happened, but was afraid to go to authorities for fear of going to jail. This man did nothing and her lies ruined his life.
He didn't get locked up for indecent exposure. He was locked up for a parole violation (having internet on his phone) and while in jail he was set up with a false charge of indecent exposure. This was done so the justice system could avoid having to confess that they messed up. Think about it for a moment: why would a female guard be in the shower room in the first place?
Labels are SO EASY. Labels confirm an specific disorder or reason for "not conforming to what others conform to" so that people with subjective conclusions can pigeon hole "you."
I was a little girl and around that age I’ve had friends who dated guys in junior high. Maybe that girl had a little crush on him and acted out what she saw some older teen girls doing. It didn’t work out for her as she was 10 and Travis was mentally her age .
She could have had a crush on him, then when he pushed her off, she felt hurt and rejected and wanted to get back at him, and accused him. Little girls can be vindictive.
I was feeling suspicious of him in the initial episode when the mom was discussing all the money she sent to him in prison for gangs to leave him alone... I have no doubt things happen but I was wondering if he was manipulating her...then he keeps violating probation like come on get it together
I can’t see a 10 year old little girl manipulating a story. I think he did it and maybe threatened or convinced the other kids to say he didn’t. A 17 year old hanging out with small children. Enough said.
Definitely not an Oprah fan but I don't know what it is about Lisa Ling.she listens and she tries to understand, see it through others eyes...very open minded and great reporter. Much Luv from Az❤️
Same about Oprah. Agree about Lisa!
I agree! Lisa is special! A real journalist...
She doesn't inject her personal opinion.
You don't see that much anymore...
Agreed. I never watch anything Of Oprah’s. Lisa is everything
Oprah is trash.
I never thought 30 years ago that I wouldn't love Oprah. The wealthier she got, the more out if touch and judgemental she got! Totally can't stand her!!!
The girl who exaggerated the story needs to be held accountable
Yes, she does!
Exactly
No she was 10 years old. The judge should be held accountable for allowing the guilty plea under the lawyer’s pressure with no evidence
The mother of the girl need to be held accountable for reporting wrongful accusations
The girl was 10 years old, she should be thought about consequences and lying, the police, that did not do a proper in dept investigation, needs to answer. They settle for the lazy answer
I don't know how Travis is staying calm. Wow, when Lisa Ling's digging and uncovering couldn't help him. His mom needs love from all of us, sending some her way💕
I think it's his mental health condition that keeps him staying calm ~ a bit like Forest Gump!
I have seen SO many true crime shows where people have MURDERED someone and got less time in jail, and little to no restrictions after they were released. This is ridiculous.
I thought the same thing… just baffling
I love Lisa, she is a freaking amazing interviewer. Love from Canada 🇨🇦
Can we get an update on Travis? Really hope he is doing ok. He didn’t deserve this.
Travis has an amazing mother...
These videos showing us important quality content about the flaws in the American criminal justice system are needed. Thank you Lisa! 🙏🏼
Right!??? I wish we had more of these shows and not stupid reality shows
Lisa really is the new Barbara Walters. No one comes close to her non-judgemental and empathetic reporting. The fact that she sometimes gets emotional shows she actually cares.

A DA voted in by the public has only the goal of 100% conviction rate, and no future reversals.
This is a sad situation, and this can happen to anyone 😢
I want to know why it's so hard for DAs to admit they were wrong
Never should have plead guilty
And if he were guilty..20 yrs is extreme imo
He was tricked and wanted to go home.
A child like Travis, I do not even think he understands the gravity of how serious the accusation was. He is mentally disabled. It is the prosecutor!
Wow, no way did this "crime" fit the punishment!!!
yet, this happens all the time
There’s always way more to the story
WHAT CRIME ??? THIS IS WHY U NEVER SPEAK TO POLICE ...
They want him to admit to something he said he didn’t do plus something that wasn’t proven by the court because he just automatically plead guilty without further investigation
So where is Travis today?
Living in his hometown and still on the Texas s** offender registry. This situation is wrong on every level.
@@IntlSofia I just looked him up and that broke my heart. 😢
Lisa long is a great reporter

County probably had a late of calls in the year after she first released this...
We need an update on Travis! Where is he now?
Lisa Ling is my girl ❤️reporting, and she was also a rave girl from sf like me

American injustice is staggering!
This man was denied his life and for what?
I hope he finally made it out of prison & off the registry.
This is the EXACT reason why my kid's are NOT allowed at ANYONE'S house/bday party/park without me....and NO kid's are allowed at our house either.
I agree 100 percent!
lol yeah take away basic childhood experiences because of a 0.1% chance of a false accusation. If you're that paranoid, get a ring doorbell
Wow, what a sad Life for a child, that's really sick....and the Statistic proofed that almost 80% of S.. Offenders are Family or close Friends, so good Luck 😉
Wow- it’s a sad way to live when you’re always focusing on the “what-ifs.” :(
and what about schools? do you really think nothing is happening at school?
I love this show.
Feel sorry for the mother, constant breach from the son.

This is wild as hell.
We need more resources for the mentally challenges. Its obvious he doesn't understand the rules & just keeps floundering. It’s sad.
travis story is a terrible miscarriage of justice. it seems the cops were the ones who did it along with a bad da. very sad.
The damage my brother and friends had on me was tremendous. My m9ther and authorities ruined my life forever.
They will never be held accountable.

Don't skip over the fact he got probation initially but couldn't follow the rules of probation.

Well just got to the end of the video so let me just clarify my comment was regarding the initial probation / jail time when he was 16 😬
Don’t skip over the fact that a young girl lied about being sexually abused which led him to the situation he’s currently in.
@@amyj4811this is so cleverly put. If it’s that serious, why is it possible to avoid prison time at all? The pendulum has to swing so far between 5 years probation and 20 years incarceration 😕
Right! People aren't paying attention to the facts.
I've been a supporter of Travis till now, but im starting to get doubts and question marks about his supposed lewd behaviour. Either he's guilty or very unlucky!!!
This was filmed in 2014? Does anyone have an update on him? Where is he now, in 2024 ??
Looked him up tonight...he's still on the registry, living in Round Rock. 😢
They are railroading him. That is his home in the jail. The female guards need to announce They're in the pod
What??!???
There need to be better solutions for these men.
and I thought my life sucked
I can’t watch this I can’t believe how America is fighting for criminals what about the non criminals Travis was old enough to know not to touch a 10 year old period
Did you even watch this!?
I agree and his mom is an enabler some people get caught the first time if he had been a repeated offender everyone would be upset he will offend again just wait
What if you're wrong?
And he didn’t. He’s innocent.
There’s more to that story we aren’t hearing. There’s no way he was sentenced that long for just doing nothing.
The first part is already released- go check it out as it goes in depth
Some people get caught the first time

He's had to admit to something he didn't do. That's messed up.
I totally believed he was innocent till that last 3 min when get got locked up again for indecent exposure
That isn’t why. He was locked up because he missed his ankle alarm in the middle of the night.
Even if he did it, it doesn't mean he touched the 10-year-old.
He didn't get locked up for indecent exposure. He was locked up for a parole violation (having internet on his phone) and while in jail he was set up with a false charge of indecent exposure. Poor Travis he is a fool. Whatever happened to him? Part of me is thinking maybe he did do what he’s accused of. He can’t seem to get his act straight
He has some issues.
Labels are SO EASY. Labels confirm an specific disorder or reason for "not conforming to what others conform to" so that people with subjective conclusions can pigeon hole "you."
Imagine the victim watching this video. Sounds like she was guilt tripped for ruining this guy’s life which is why she started recanting.
Before I finish this video after I commented ,Travis offended and violated again 😮 surprise surprise
What did he do?
So the punishment didn't stop the acts
@@robbiecarter8773 right ,even behind bars

Read the bible and every book you can get, try try try for God is awesome
He should have found friends in his age
Hekeeps gettin charged. Makes me wonder!
If that girl did lie she will half to face God some day
america is so messed up.
boring
Wow surprise ending a registered s offender doing an s offense ....come on this guys a predator
He so fine 😍😊
You’re starving and thirsty 🥴
Travis honestly deserves to stay he did the crime
We say the same about you girl! xx
He did it just got caught

@GabrielleS87 there was also a 16 year old there and his doctor said his mental age was 10 at the time
He did not commit a crime. Did you not watch both episodes?
