I saw HuunHuurTu in concert in Frankfurt, Germany in 1996 and it was THE most memorable concert experience of my life! the music is so moving. I also saw Tuvan street performers in Germany during the winter of 2006/2007 and I was again mesmerized by their music. Phenomenal!!!

Well, this style of music & singing is absolutely fascinating & deeply inspiring. It leads down to the roots, to the grounds of life.
I was so happy to enjoy a concert of Huun-Huur-Tu just 1 week ago at Gruenberg in Germany. Great ! Great ! Great ! You have to see & hear them live !

Lovely performance! And you can hear how much the horse means in their culture.. Just to bad that it ends so abruptly. Thanks for sharing! =)

The sounds produced when singing come from the larynx or voice box, which is located at the top of your trachea -- or windpipe (which is a separate pipe to your esophagus; the pipe used to carry food and fluid to the stomach). The larynx contains two sets vocal cords; the vocal cords (which are used for speech and singing) and the false vocal cords (which are used when coughing or shouting). Both sets of vocal cords are naturally lined with a thin layer of mucus to lubricate their movements. If you are ill, this mucus can be more viscous (thicker) and restrict the movement (and thus the tone) of your vocal cords. This can also happen if you drink milk or fruit juice. Alcohol will actually suck the moisture out of the top of your throat, which can cause severe damage if you are singing whilst drinking alcohol for long periods of time. The healthier you are, and the more fluid you drink (mainly water and green tea), the more healthy the vocal cords are going to be, and the thinner the layer of mucus coating the cords.
Because of how the trachea and larynx work in relation to the epiglottis (the elastic cartilage at the back of your throat) and esophagus, drinking water and producing saliva won't actually rehydrate your vocal cords because the epiglottis closes over the opening of the trachea like a large flap, in order for the water to travel down the esophagus. Water and saliva will definitely hydrate your mouth and the back of your throat, however, but the only way you can really soothe and hydrate your vocal cords is by inhaling steam from warm water (with the addition of menthol, if you like), as this steam (and/or menthol) will pass through your windpipe to your lungs, via both sets of your vocal cords, thus hydrating them, and thinning the mucus layer on the cords themselves. I hope this helps. :)

this is a video showing a very uncommon style of music (at least to the western world), an interesting display of culture and pretty cool music by the way... and people waste time and space in useless arguments over ethnic and linguistic origins, so sad...

its not exactly known where hungarians came from to europe, but there is an assumption that from mongolia. we lived exactly as mongolians..... in big tents, our clothes were similar, we were a nation with horses, we even looked asian-like. i am not an expert in this question, but when i heard this music i felt i know where i belong or rather where "im from".

The strength of my district’s people
May these stand firm and not weaken
The heads of herding livestock are safe
May their formidable force grow stronger
As the spokesman of my province’s people
I pray and I am worshiping
I have sought mercy from my lofty mountain
      And begged, asking for protection

@3moonlightdrive Mongolians related to the Hugarians? I'm not saying you're wrong, but could you please enlighten me/us? Not being Hungarian, or from another country conquered by Genghis, is fail to see how both relate.

elnyka, the country that is called Turkey today is really the last remnant of the Imperial Ottoman, the population a mixture of local Armenian, Greek, Slav and of course a small percentage of Central Asian Turkic. Pan Turkism is a recent movement that played a key role in breakup of Ottoman empire. Pan Turkism continues to this day and you can google or wiki on this to find more.
