I was incredibly privileged to see this otherworldly band a few weeks ago in Stockholm. The venue was small and I stood maybe 3 metres from Radik Tyulyush when he sang this song. Tears of happiness and peace came down my face and it felt like flying through the Altai. No drug or pharmaceutical medicine can ever bring this on. I was high on music :-)
They played in my city recently and i meant to go but ended up forgetting all about it, a guy from work went and said the entire crowd was silent (this was in a pub that usually plays nothing but rock, indie or techno music) the whole crowd just stood there and watched, nobody on phones or anything, that shows the power of this music
Pablo, they most certainly do. I was informed they will be doing another US tour in 2019, and I plan to be there, if they play anywhere on the west coast.
Pablo Garcia currently they’re in Europe until the end of this month. Then it’s home to Tuva until sometime in the New Year. You can follow them on Facebook .
This has been one of my favorite songs since I discovered them years ago. Can’t understand a thing they say but I can feel every word. It sounds painful yet beautiful.
This song touched my soul. I cried and cried, thank you. I can imagine so much love when I hear this song. A newborn in the arms of loving parents being sung to, familiar tribe faces around a fire, the giant mountains and eternal sky in this part of the world. I feel the universe wrapping me in a blanket and telling me it's ok.

Certo che la voce potente di Radik Tiuliush é qualcosa di speciale e completa il misticismo del gruppo. In questo senso gli Huun Huur Ut saranno comunque sempre unici. Bravissimi.
I often do my writing to Huun Huur Tu music playing softly in the background. It grounds me and sparks my creativity, and there are no English lyrics to get tangled up with my attempts. Seeing them perform in person was a real highlight. There is such delicacy in those compositions.

Je ferme les yeux et, j'écoute et l'impression de voler au dessus de vastes steppes. Libre comme l'oiseau. Et du haut, voir aussi galoper des chevaux majestueux libres.
I’ve been friends with these guys since 2005. Spent lots of time with them in the States and most recently helped to bring them to Barcelona (my new home). I’ve traveled to their homeland of Tuva three times and hung out with its most famous throat singers. I wrote all about these epic times in My Adventures in Tuva. You can find a link to the book in all of my 200+ videos of Tuvan throat singing on my channel.
I believe the beauty of music is that it is more about emotion than about lyrics. I've listened to music not understanding the lyrics, felt a whole range of emotions, and created my own 'emotional translation', a discription of what I saw with my minds eye. This song, to me, is about the singer, remembering the time he was a young boy, traveling the steppes of Mongolia. They stopped and spend a few days next to the huts of another family the'd never met, but Mongolian hospitality being what it is, they welcomed one another. It was here that he met his first love. They clicked instantly. I can see them lying next to each other next to a small stream, wild horses grazing on the opposite side. They only spend a weekend, or maybe a week together, then reluctantly, he left with his family - moving on, and because of the vast plains of Mongolia, he knew he would never see her again. Now older, he still looks out over the steppes sometimes, hoping he would see her standing somewhere. And when he drives the vast plains alone, now by car, when the sun is setting, he stops at the first encampment he sees, still hoping that maybe she's in there - now older of course, hopefully a happy mother and wife, maybe even a grandmother by now, but still - just meeting her once more. Yes, I could make a nazi band's lyrics sound like a lovesong as long as I don't understand the lyrics... :P
Where now are the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing? Where is the harp on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing? Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing? They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow; The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow. Who shall gather the smoke of the deadwood burning, Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning?
This is one of the few redeeming qualities of social media. This is the kind of tradition that needs to live on. This kind of music (@Lotario Vergamota) is so SOULFUL. I hear it and want to 'rawr'. Just something from deep within. It evokes emotion, but lacks choreographed dancing girls in thongs (so isn't pretty in current pop culture). But if it doesn't resonate in your soul... I feel for you.
