I was able to code my headlights with new TMS control modules with my powerful Phoenix Plus and only took less than 5 minutes on my F10 M-Sport. My scan tool needed no J5334 VCI adopters or wires of such! Real easy and very effective! Also since it was that easy, I also coded my rear new EDC struts and my BMW now is perfectly smooth on the road... Was able to also fix several error codes by re-coding and initializing them and my BMW is now error free! Here's a tip: for 2011 to 2014 F10 models, you can install a replica/Chinese brand TMS with same serial/part # and be able to code the module easily. But for after 2014 models the ECU will check if the module is genuine/OEM and if it determines it's not original part it will block you from coding it and reject it, you will be required to get original BMW TMS control module in order to be coded to the car in order for your headlights to work correctly again!
You may be able to answer this, I have a 2018 bmw x2 with the LED lights. I need a new headlight and am planning on swapping all original modules to the other donor headlight. Will I still need to code them? All the damage was done to the plastic
Yes you need to code it in and I suggest you get originals other wise you’ll always get warning on dash and it may not work properly. After markets only work for halogen head lights. But if yours is already xenon/led then I suggest sticking to same thing
Hey maybe you can help out , I have a 2015 550i and I am starting to get error messages when I start my car. The headlight halos work but are dim. And the “adaptive headlight malfunction” and then “vertical headlight malfunction” and “high beam” all pop us as error codes. Do I need to get the new TMS module? If so does it need to be from BMW or can I get away with aftermarket..? The new module is around 500$ at that point I’d feel like looking into aftermarket headlights would be a better idea.
Hi hopefully you can help me. I just upgraded my vw golf mk7 headlight, after installation my high beam is not turning on only the low beam turns on. I think it needs some coding. I use obd 11
I have done the following to my F25 2011. My right Xenon non-adaptive headligth glass broke and used the housing of an adaptive Xenon. I transfered the Driver module, Control unit and the two led modules from the non-adaptive. Everything works except the angel eyes and 800F89 error code appears. Is the wiring the problem? Is there any scematic that spots the differences between non-adaptive and adaptive xenon?
@@sadiagnostics my original headligth and the modules are non-adaptive. The housing I found (without the modules, only cables) is from adaptive. I don't want the adaptiveness

Hi man. Thanks for this informative video. Can you please tell me how much do you roughly charge for this work? Do you charge based on time you spent, or based on service you provide? If you for some reason coded the headlight but you still could not be able to make it turn on (maybe because the other mechanic did not install headlight plug, and you did not know) will you still charge the customer? I am asking you this because I am facing issue like the above
Cheers mate, good video. Unfortunately when I run this, the FLEL option is jot even listed to code, does this indicate the module is missing? Or disconnected? The headlight vertical aim control fault is still appearing in vehicle status.
Hi mate I totally agree with you, this is not your fault but indeed Autels faults, for some cars it will not bring up some modules. So for example for the old bmw e82 it will not bring up FEM. Just the way it is unfortunately.
BMW f10 tried to code headlamp module for the angel eyes, halogen light. Nothing there for it, coded in the fem module but no joy I did use a module off amazon so could this be the problem or is it autel there no option for light module? Thanks

Does it need online access for the autel (yearly subscription )
Yes it does need subscription. Other wise you can’t code/Programme with it.
