I agree i feel like with the air mines you could deny the air the only issue tho now is that tunneling is a great option so if there a way to deny that you have essentially xreated a no go zone
Even better is when you combine this with something like create or modern industrialization so you can have machines that automatically farm, craft, and reload the different cannons

Well that's the thing, it starts off as a bunch of guys on the ground thwacking each other with sticks and it progressively advances from there. It becomes an arms race to gain the materials necessary to get an advantage over the enemy.
One idea I had like a year or 2 ago, it's a permanent area denial basically make a cloud of like 1-2% concentration glass panes in the air, good luck flying in safely, and once you do get in your probs gonna be getting like 30 blocks in before getting stopped, knocked down to half health from the impact, and become uncertain of how to get out safely

Me and my friends started our own server recently, I split up with them to found my own empire in a village, very successful and heavily themed in deepslate material. it just so happens that my friends are directly about 1500 blocks away which I like to say 1500 meters because 1 block is canonically 1 meter in length. With this, I can say that I have a superweapon they wont know coming.😈😈😈😈😈
One other thing to take into account with the firework crossbows, you can have multiple crossbows in your hot bar to repeatedly fire in a certain area if you first shot isn’t effective. Of course to reload would take a while but hey, could be a “crew serve” weapon
There are some pretty good ways around the reload. You can set up a station where you stand while droppers continually give you loaded crossbows. Everytime you fire you throw the crossbow on the ground where it is picked up by a dropper and then re-loaded using an auto crafter before being put back into the system. You can output some serious firepower this way. With enough resources in the system your only limited by how fast you can pull the trigger and throw

I've been making arrow cannon, i haven't thought about making anti-aircraft, but i feel with some modifocations it can work very well, and is more economical and effective, since it can use Bogged's arrows or throw with potions (for poison and instant damage).
with fireworks and dispensers, if you set a clock with a complex firing pattern you could effectively make fields of flak. make each fireworks with multiple ball sizes and maybe add twinkle to make it hard to see, and make lots of fireworks with varying launch height, then hook up a clock to make each dispenser's timing hard to predict and voila. airspace that your enemy can't reasonably fly thru without getting hit, and that your enemy will struggle to see thru. would be worth making the fireworks the same colour as the terrain and your skin, for extra difficulty seeing, or maybe use highly contrasting colours like yellow n black for the ol' razzle dazzle camouflage

Those rocket infantrymen on the start of the video could also work as crowd control When there's a bunch of enemies coming into you and you need something to deal with them FAST rockets can be used like bombs to bombard the enemies and they'll die And plus those rocket guys can be taken by Officers that lead your men and utilize it as a form of communication like morse code
Expanding on the first and last idea, if you have a stockpile of elytra of your own and some playerpower to spare, you can form a fighter detachment of sorts, being able to intercept enemy air, with the added bonus of being able to steal elytra off dead enemies. Just make sure they don't mix up the fireworks for their crossbows and the one for their elytra!
I know a lot of people are going to try to be recourcefull but on a server i used to play on we used to deal with Elytras by using dispensers with fireworks, but instead of just putting the maxed type in there we also stocked it with extended charged ones too, that way it was random and could reach way more making it harder for people to fly down or lift off
single use arrow traps good. I'm also experimenting with making them multiple use, but once a player has been shot at they know where to dig to find it. I'm also experimenting with making them have multiple directions per trap to cover more area by controlling amount of tnt, but those take longer to fire and fast elytraers can get through.
While I can appreciate the fact that you want airspace denial, in minecraft terms it's simply more practical to only defend that which must be defended. A lava wall with snow golems up to the cramming limit should create a CIWS system that's fully automatic, has fire damage, and is relatively cheap to set up.
The problem with all of these is that players can just fly higher, and surgically insert themselves into a particular location, making it incredibly costly but also ineffective. I have found that countering with bowing at players while you are also flying has been relatively effective with enough training.
these are great ideas! however, i would recommend finding a second way to kill as a fail safe, because players with elytra’s likely have several totems on them
use the wireless nature of skulk sensors put calibrated skulk underground then at the edge of that blocks range put a block that makes noise piston,trapdoor ect. and another sensor on top of that -it's tileable making vertical range infinite(with a bit of delay) might be limited by tnt minecart amount -harder to see since there's fewer blocks above ground -doubles as a floor mine since there's a skulk underground what do you think

Iirc you can make calibrated skulk sensors only detect elytra flying sound. So you can deny enemies using elytras over a certain area without denying that area for your own infantry. This could be useful when you don't want your men to be harassed by flying enemies.
Ok so idea you hook up the first tnt cannon to redstone so it fires correctly and then you put a bunch of them around your base underground connected to one line in the middle of the base and have a lever to flick when you need anti air this is probably really expensive though

5:06 Timed fuses aren’t very effective. If you can find a means to make a proximity fuse, as well as a means to hit at any height level, then you’re basically set. Because people will just be able to fly higher and higher, and unless you can cause a “U2 spy plane incident” in Minecraft, the elytra will always get through.

Good, now make air superiority fighters that fly at mach 2 and are armed with fire and forget aams for when antiair is not effective enough to to stop the elytras, and a give it a high firerate gun for when its too close for missiles
The air mines might actually be kind of easy to defeat since you can clear it by using a flying machine or someone expendable with minimal equipment. One mine going off will set off all other mines.
I mean you claimed the firework dispensers were not effective, but i think you could do a very strong job of blocking area with fireworks if you can set the correct timer with a calibrated sensor
Literally just put crossbows in every inventory slot and rapidly switch between them. You can load them with fireworks, enchant them with tri-shot and use them without having to lower your shield
I was hoping there would be some way to make a very wide shotgun spread of arrows into the air, so you’re more likely to damage a target - since the precision arrow shotguns have such a tight choke

besides,the TNT have a 8 second fuse which it means that bombers aren't allowed to fly through the aa area easily.
hence,the only way to go through the defense is to drop tnt minecarts from high altitudes or diving in a high speed using elytra.

Ok so idea you hook up the first tnt cannon to redstone so it fires correctly and then you put a bunch of them around your base underground connected to one line in the middle of the base and have a lever to flick when you need anti air this is probably really expensive though

The last design really gives off the war movies vibes(during air raid you can see alot of shells exploding there)

5:06 Timed fuses aren’t very effective. If you can find a means to make a proximity fuse, as well as a means to hit at any height level, then you’re basically set.
Because people will just be able to fly higher and higher, and unless you can cause a “U2 spy plane incident” in Minecraft, the elytra will always get through.

Last design is very secure for the environment if TNT is timed correctly. One Skulk sensor 200 blocks away seems enough to deny the sky.
Having dedicated fire casters is useful on the ground too
1/3 of your fighters with firework crossbows, possibly one for ground with quick draw and the multishot one for close up emergency or anti air
Full stacks of bolts and potion tip arrows
Lets the other infantry have inventory space to use doors, gates, water, lava, bushes, cobwebs etc for pvp
High ground is important as the enemy takes longer getting up it and needs to use blocks sometimes which leaves them looking away without weapon for time
Good, now make air superiority fighters that fly at mach 2 and are armed with fire and forget aams for when antiair is not effective enough to to stop the elytras, and a give it a high firerate gun for when its too close for missiles
I think you can try combo the last mechanism with the calibrated sensor

What if you do the arrow launcher idea but with bogged skeleton arrows being harvested and launched via tnt?
The air mines might actually be kind of easy to defeat since you can clear it by using a flying machine or someone expendable with minimal equipment. One mine going off will set off all other mines.
Imagine just seeing a bunch of weird pillars on the ground just for you to get shot like a bomber in 1944
A world eater will work wonders to destroy anti-aircraft weapons and do great in bombing raids on villages and bases

For the air mine towers: u can use a lecturn with a book & quill then set it to level 4 to trigger with elytra sounds

I mean you claimed the firework dispensers were not effective, but i think you could do a very strong job of blocking area with fireworks if you can set the correct timer with a calibrated sensor

Literally just put crossbows in every inventory slot and rapidly switch between them. You can load them with fireworks, enchant them with tri-shot and use them without having to lower your shield
Great, i was looking for a way to make working Flak in vanilla minecraft.
I was hoping there would be some way to make a very wide shotgun spread of arrows into the air, so you’re more likely to damage a target - since the precision arrow shotguns have such a tight choke
You need TNT dupers to be very effective here. Something automated that saturates a large area of the sky with TNT explosions.

You also need to calibrate the calibrated sculk sensor so it only detects elytra and ignores any other sounds
