11:20 thats the worst reason to not give a game a 10. "well, i just gave this other game in a completely different & unrelated genre a 10 so I can't give this game a 10." are you gonna say that about Diablo 4 also? if its a 10 its a 10. call a spade a spade.
Holy crap I didn't know that Electric Playground was still around. I remember watching for all my gaming news and reviews. I'm glad to see you back, Victor. Liked and subscribed.
I don't personally care at all about Tears of the Kingdom. Didn't love BotW, and also not a fan of the building stuff in it. But THIS, this the game I've been waiting years for. As a long time Street Fighter fan, this is the game that I had hoped 5 would be. I know 5 got a lot better eventually, I still played it then too. But THIS is what it should have been. This is more like when SF4 dropped and left it's mark on the FGC.
@@EPN I most certainly will! Re-reading that comment, I made it while tired. I realize now that it comes off a bit negative towards Zelda. Not what I intended really. I'm happy that game delivered so well for so many people, even if it isn't for me personally.
@@kadosho02 That's wild, especially because this is all in one game, which I find as a crazy good value if you do love the retro games, which obviously I do!
How am I just now finding out that Electric Playground lives on? I though Victor had switched to critiquing automobiles. Would love to see Tommy again as well.
Still to come: Dragon's Dogma 2, Exoprimal, and Pragmata. Really hope Capcom makes another Mega Man game after that. Capcom has gotta have the most consistently excellent output of any publisher/dev at this point. Since Monster Hunter World, they just can't miss. Such a great time to be a fan of games in general. This year is basically a video game renaissance. HiFi Rush, Dead Space Remake, Metroid Prime Remastered, Hogwarts Legacy, Like a Dragon Ishin, Octopath Traveler 2, Wo Long, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Advanced Wars 1 + 2, Jedi Survivor, Tears of the Kingdom, Diablo 4, Street Fighter 6, FFXVI, Starfield, Lords of the Fallen, Alan Wake 2, Armored Core 6, Sea of Stars, Baldurs Gate 3, Mortal Kombat 1, Blasphemous 2, Metal Slug Tacitics, Hyper Light Breaker, Pikmin 4, and potentially even more that haven't been revealed. Is this the most stacked year ever?
at this point with 2023 being so stacked with great games & landmark Games remade like RE4, I wouldn't be surprised if we get an announcement for a remake of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 sooner than later...
Probably the best "casual" review I've seen. You seem to really "get" what they were going for here and actually enjoyed it a lot. Crazy how Street Fighter's future never looked brighter
Victor and EP brings back good memories. Great and comprehensive review of my favourite franchise. I really hope this game helps push more and more people to play.
Street Fighter 6 looks a lot better than Street Fighter 5. I've never played 5 because of the lack of content available at launch and the ridiculous amount of DLC that you have to get in order to play the "entire" game. Street Fighter 6 looks like it has plenty of content available at launch. I might actually get this game. It looks awesome.
Remember when fighting games used to be a fun jaunt that required some strategy, but weren’t burdened with little systems you had to learn in order to succeed?
You are not wrong, it has become super technical with flow, feel, movement, and mastery On the plus side, you have options on how you want to play. SF and other fighters have changed drastically from the past. I am not into the pro scene, but that's where all of the technical, and focus is banked on I just play for fun
I’m not trying to fakely echo chamber here Vic, I truly mean the then I say this…. this & Happy Console Gamers review are the DEFINITIVE coverage in this game!!! Both of you have really dug deep with the mechanics & why the game actually rewards the customer!!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just watched the Happy Console Gamer review, then came right over here. Johnny and Vic are fantastic. Side note, Behrudy was awesome in Johnny’s review as well.
Do you guys think as a non fighting game fan I should pick it up? I’ve never really been j to fighting games but this looks amazing! I just don’t want to get to bored
I would definitely recommend it. Plus you have different gameplay options: classic, modern, and dynamic Classic: LP, MP, HP (low, medium, high punch) LK, MK, HK (low, medium, high kick) Modern: different setup Dynamic: easy access mode Plus like Vic covered, there is a ton to do, whether single player or online
The game is precisely engineered to bring back lapsed SF fans and brand new players. You can play World Tour mode exclusively for many many hours and you’ll have a blast and learn everything you need for Fighting Ground and Battle Hub. It’s an excellent game.
Yep the cutscenes are stills though. Beautiful art throughout. Lots of unlockables. Addictive (in a good way) in every sense of the word. They killed it!
Great review Vic! I guess this unofficially gets a 10/10, I'd like to pick it up since i enjoyed the demo quite a bit ; but I also think i might wait around for Akuma to come along from the DLC first
@@EPN I'm beyond excited for Final Fantasy XVI, looking forward to your thoughts on that, keep doing what you're doing, you're the best in the biz, Vic!
Thanks for the detailed review. I've ordered SF6 for my PS5 and Steam (for the Deck). As a massive Street Fighter fan since 1988, I cannot wait until Friday! I am curious, are any of the Capcom VS SNK games available to play in the in-game arcade?
You and Tommy both helped me get through some tough and depressing days growing up during the techTV days. Glad you haven’t lost that special early 2000’s charm! Keep up the terrific work Victor 🥹👍❤️
Great review! This is what I expected of a $70+ game. Not the arbitrary "it's on my new fandangled gaming console, so pay up" prices they're running with currently. I will say that Zelda doesn't own the 10 score category. Shame games have to be relegated to some lesser rating because of internal bias and not their own merits. Not a good look.
I still feel ripped off from SF5, paying $50 (at 50% off!) for 8 characters with access to 4 more that had to be unlocked (paid or thru in-game currency). Despite SF6 looking good, I'm going to wait until this hits $40 or so before jumping in, that's how bad of a taste the previous game left.
Ive missed this show! Hearing Vic took me straight back to 2003. Meanwhile Street Fighter 6 is gonna be so much fun and for a long time too. This game gives me Street Fighter Alpha 3 (home port) and Street Fighter III vibes from what ive been able to play of the game so far.
I found modern controls made the game so simple it became boring. Becomes more of a button mash party game when the alt options are being used, good for kids though. Classic is the way to go imo, they really should ban the other controls from ranked or figure out a way to nerf the instant specials they have, kinda bs that people on classic are gonna have a natural delay from doing the full movement while everyone on the modern controls can one button DP.
Yeah but from what I heard dynamic controls are banned and can only be used offline So the people using modern controls don't do as much damage as people using classic controls I still think it'll even itself out
Ya idk. I’ll wait and see. Happy with Strive and some other fighters for now. Of the new characters, only Kimberly is appealing. A couple of the others are downright bizarre. The mode with the retro Capcom cabinets seems cool, I guess. Would’ve totally preferred Alpha 4 with sprite graphics, but I guess that’s never happening. The RPG mode doesn’t look like something I’d play for more than a few mins. PLAY FOREVER!
@@EPN Hi Vick! Just wanted to thank you again for the amazing review! I haven't messed with the other new characters yet tbh, just Kimber, Ryu, Ken, & Chun Li, but it's a blast. The online mode works great too. Hopefully CAPCOM has a hit with this one. My only real gripe is that the roster is a little small for a modern fighter, we should have at least 2x as many characters. Anyway, thank you for the review, PLAY FOREVER

Capcom been killing it the last couple of years. In the early-2010's they were going down the same road as Konami.
