These vids were really helpful when I painted my set.
@attiladukai2121 glad to hear it!
Thanks! Very nice as always! More Nemesis videos yes please 😋
Thanks a lot for posting this. I usually struggle painting minis but following this process exactly, they turned out great. 😊
I'm glad to hear it!
This is super cool. Love what you did. Zenithal priming is the best!
Thank you! And yeah, I normally never use zenithal priming to it's full potential. I usually just use it as a guide for where to put my shadows/highlights. But in the case of this guy, it cut the painting time down dramatically.
Thanks! Best technique I've seen for the look I'm going for.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video, I just finished painting all my crew members, damn that was hard work given the scale, defects and ambiguity of the details. In a way it ended being quite a liberating experience, focussing more on colour, rather than small details and accuracy of brush strokes.
I hear ya. I'm half looking forward to it, half dreading it. I guess we'll find out how good my free hand is on their faces. I'm happy with the aliens though. The zenithal prime seems to work well on them.
@@HeroesBosses Good luck :) I added the crew to my album flic.kr/p/2eBWoqg I found zenith highlight worked well, followed by a near glaze consistency of colour with the airbrush for the primary clothing shown on the artwork, then washed each mini with a complimentary wash and finally reinforced with some messy brushwork, bar the faces.
I'll add some colour recipes to the description in each image for those that find that useful.
Man you’re talented
Very nice video. Thanks!
Please paint the characters ! Love your quick paint job and composition !
I'll definitely be painting the characters too :)
Great work! Looks like something even I can manage! Please do more :)
Haha :) Thank you - and please do give it a try! I'm almost done the queen right now, using a very similar method.
@@HeroesBosses Yes! I bought the paints I didnt have already this weekend so Im ready to go! I planned to do all of them this way (at the least the base coat)
This is a huge help so I hope you'll get time to do more.
I've never cut corners like this so will try these new techniques especially with two other mini heavy games coming in so I want to finish this asap.
I'm glad it was a help! I'm painting the Queen right now actually. Hopefully I'll have the video out soon :)
@@HeroesBosses I have done half of the intruders now. Looks great - except a few that got too much white primer from above, they look too light. Can you think of a fix for that because I guess painting that part won't look good when rest is unpainted.
Which colors did you use for the debris on the floor of the bigger intruders minis?
@@amorbavian I'll message you soon about ways that you might be able to fix that. I'm away from home until later today - I need to see my paint colors. As for the large intruders, I haven't started them, but the queen video should be out Monday (fingers crossed)
I'm not sure what you intruders look like right now, but just off the top of my head, you could try mixing something like Sotek Green with a bit of white until you match the green you're looking for, then drybrush the areas that are too light with that. If you've already varnished your intruders with a satin or gloss you'll need to use a matt varnish on top of that, otherwise your paint won't stick.
@@HeroesBosses If you have not decided what to do with the little facehuggers, they come out pretty good with a quick layer of Vallejo Cork Brown and then Army Painters Soft Tone wash for that darker, slimey look. If you want them greenish, I also did one with mixing Cork Brown and Army Painter Angel Green approx 50/50 and then the same wash.
Actually, I am still undecided which version to do. Decisions, decisions.
Great job!
Thanks Rob :)
loved your video, please do more of those!
I just got my new Soldier from Awaken Realms, so I'll definitely be painting him soon.
Heroes & Bosses awesome! The second wave is also comin soon O:)
@@MultiFunTommy Oh right I forgot. I'll have to speed up production!
Amazing bro! Gotta teach me!
Thanks Diego! I hope the video helps!
Pls more Nemesis :)
More!
Ok! :)
More. More. More!
Very soon! :)
What varnish would you use on the heroes? Also shine?
Thanks for a quality video!
Definitely go with matt varnish (such as Testors Dullcoat, Army Painter anti-shine matt varnish or even a brush on matt varnish like Liquitex)
@@HeroesBosses cool thanks.
What is the title of the music at the beginning of this video? I've heard it before in some other videos on youtube, but i can't find title anywhere. BTW this and the queen tutorials are imho best i've seen, regarding Nemesis miniatures.
Thank you! I'll look up the name of that song for you - it's one from the free audio library in the UA-cam studio.
"I Can't Remember I Can't Recall" by the 129ers

Thank you! You have a new subscriber.
Nice work! Could you paint the soldier?:)
I'd really like to - unfortunately mine is deformed. Awaken Realms will send a replacement, I'm sure. They've promised quick replacements if any of the minis are damaged. Once I get it, it'll be the first hero that I paint from Nemesis.
@@HeroesBosses Mine too, all so waiting...looking forward:)
Great! Can you tell me what model of dry brush you use in the video?
I've used the same one for so long I wore off the name with my fingers. I've been planning to get a new one soon though so I'll send you the name ASAP!
Which one should I pick if I want to make them slightly more green? Thanks for the video
Well now there's tons of choices, with the contrast paints and speedpaints. Check out the Games Workshop site.
Uuurgh, must resist sudden urge to repaint my Genestealers...
Haha :) Well you're powering through the BSF minis on your channel! Soon you'll have to find something new to paint ;)
Hey, have you done something similar with the expansion? I would not need a video necessarily but maybe the paints used.
I am thinking of doing the same technique as here just used the purple (or red) and blue shades with some nuln oil as well. You recon that would work?
I don't see why that wouldn't work! I haven't finished the expansion yet, but I was thinking of trying some contrast paint with them as well.
@@HeroesBosses sure if you want to play around with the contrast paints but my impression is a bit meh. Though I've only used the Skeleton Horde one. I thought about buying more for Nemesis but don't want the cost and I have the other paints in stock.
Viscosity somewhere between a wash and a paint and I can see it being an expensive time saver on certain things (inanimate objects, rocks, things like that) , otherwise no, I don't see I'd be using them much.
@@amorbavian Yeah you won't get a "great" paint job from them, that's for sure. Just a fast one. After they are on they often look a bit grainy, but I can see if you're person who just wants to play but doesn't like painting how they would be an asset. I mostly used them as heavy washes - or for batch painting simple things with not a lot of detail. And yes, they are super expensive.
@@HeroesBosses I've recently bought Zombicide Black Plague. I guess those zombies might get a splash or two of the contrast paints. 😁 I won't have the time nor need for a nicer job on them anyway.
@@amorbavian Yeah that's a great use for them!
Do you painting Nemesis Lockdown ?
