I can really understand how bad that situation is and believe me, u re not the only one... the whole world suffers with this .... Even I still do sometimes .. try to keep Maun Vrat/vow of silence once a week for 5-6 hr or the whole day if possible..... It gives u a chance to think of where to speak and where not. It is enjoyable... Try it 😀

This trick is a temporary measure, it helps when the emotions are too strong to control. But we need to feel emotions or else they get repressed and would come out strongly when things really get messy. Feeling emotions regularly helps you regulate or I would say get used to those bursts of emotions....

I have suppressed my emotions so much that I can't sense my own feelings also..like when something bad happens I don't cry instantly, I remember that day and sob almost everyday..I can't decide what I need and what I don't!!

    • @phishhhh
      @phishhhh 2 місяці тому +1

There is nothing wrong with not crying in response to something bad that has happened.
Emotional awareness can be achieved through practice and introspection✨
Suppressing may be a temporary mechanism but it has the potential to affect mind (and in some cases body too). Suppressing is also not the most ideal or advanced way to regulate emotions...in fact it seems you have already taken steps towards emotional awareness

Cleared upsc prelims in my 3rd attempt(2024).But after preparing one month for mains it has become a burden for me.Whenever I tried to study for mains it felt suffocating.I was unable to crame data, constitution article, scholars name etc. One day I decided to get out of this and find other direction. There is no pressure on me from my parents' side.
Although now I am not preparing for upsc mains exam but still feel guilty to not study hard. Now I think that I was so weak mentally to overcome my fears.

I wasted my whole day today in anxiety and uncontrolled thoughts of my mind, and even I wasn't able to understand what exactly is bothering me
I even questioned myself that when I am not in any kind of relationship then why I am feeling this bad.
Actually I had misunderstood my favourite teacher's words, he had said something, I googled it and get a very different meaning of it other than in what sense he had said that.
And i was feeling dirty that how can I even think that he can say something like this to me as he treats the relations as they are and I can feel the purity and sanity he carries. So that was it and just because this small thing I didn't felt fine whole day only because of my thought I was bothered and had no control on my emotions
Today I came to know that emotionally I am very weak and same day I got recommended this video...seems like my phone is able to hear my sobs.

Emotions are inevitable, they come from a mixture of chemical harmones like oxytocin, serotonin, dopamine, testosterone etc in the limbic system of the brain. This gives us emotions.
Feeling is how our prefrontal cortex, where our conscience is, senses and becomes aware of these incoming emotions coming from the limbic system. Feelings are subjective, they depend upon the personality, memories, belief system, identity, current situation. All these factors will affect how you feel about an emotion.
After we become aware of the feeling part, then we get a thought and eventually it translates into action.

    Hello sir,
At first as you asked at the last, i do brain dump, like i write whatever comes in my mind on paper when i feel extremely emotional
I can’t tell you how helpful your video is to easily understand things.
I personally try an watch lot of content about neuroscience and brain health, but genuinely speaking your short simple relatable visually aesthetic and understandable video sum everything up.
In contrary, to watching lengthy podcast, and videos , your short and simple videos makes all the sense.
I was emotional watching it .
    Thankyou
Lastly i would request you to brief about the journaling and other tools for the acknowledgment and acceptance as you mentioned in your video.❤❤❤
    Thankyou doc sid ❤

How can he/she make it the strongest again? What to actually work on that?

    Introduction to emotions
Emotions are neurochemicals in the brain
They are inevitable and experienced by everyone
Key neurochemicals include dopamine, serotonin, and adrenaline
    01:46
    Difference between emotions and feelings
Emotions originate in the limbic system
Feelings arise when the prefrontal cortex becomes aware of emotions
Feelings are subjective and influenced by personal factors
    03:06
    Flow from emotion to action
Emotion leads to feeling, then thought, and finally action
Example: Anger leading to thoughts and actions
    Importance of understanding this flow
    03:24
    Levels of emotional regulation
Level 1: Zero regulation, acting purely on emotion
Level 2: Some regulation, but overwhelmed by strong emotions
Level 3: Good regulation, suppressing emotions
    05:00
    Building emotional regulation
    Step 1: Awareness of emotions
    Step 2: Acknowledgment of emotions
    Step 3: Acceptance of emotions
Step 4: Taking appropriate action based on emotions

Sir, how emotions can be regulated by teenagers when they're going through a very crucial time in their lives, especially academically and when that feeling leads to a sort of 'inertia' in their lives?
