  • Facebook ad targeting has changed dramatically, and if you're still doing it the old way you're going to pay too much for your leads and sales. In this video I'm going to show you the best way to target in 2022 despite the headwinds we're facing when it comes to Facebook and Instagram advertising.
    Facebook recently deleted thousands of interest targeting options. As a result, Facebook interest targeting is becoming less granular and more broad as a result.
    In addition to that, Facebook interest targeting has been demonstrated to be inaccurate approximately 30% of the time according to a recent study.
    So with Meta moving towards a world where interest targeting is becoming less accurate and less targeted, how do you get your ads in front of the right people?
    The good news is, there are ways to do it that work really well. That's exactly what I'm going to show you in this video.
    You'll learn how to target the exact audiences you want to get in front of with your Facebook ads, without relying on Facebook or Instagram interest targeting, or even on Lookalike audiences. This is what's working best for ad targeting right now.

    Andrew good day out of sunny South Africa - Pretoria. Thanks for your latest video. I was so despondent regarding my ads cause of extremely high cpl. I was so afraid to go broad audience before because I was scared the quality of the leads would be bad. But you have opened a whole new way of marketing to my clients. Well for me at least. Thank you so much. I made a whole new campaign with one adset and 4 different ads calling out my targeted audience individually with my copy and pictured used. My cpl has actual dropped a lot. Still in learning phase but already getting good leads. Thanks, again for your content, you are a master in your field. Cheers.

    awesome, always thought it was the way to go. For me even before the recent changes in Facebook, the real way to go was broad targeting, calling out your audience in the copy and using the most relevant creative. Probably that is the reason that broad targeting has always worked better for me since 2016.

    Another FABULOUS video, Andrew. I'm so happy I found you. Many wonderful insights here. You're confirming several suspicions I've had myself about audiences already. Relying on the content of the ad to generate actions and excluding those who are not part of my audience is brilliant.
    I'm curious. Since you are encouraging going for broad audiences, do you choose "Detailed targeting expansion: ON?"

    great work Andrew thanks so much you are a superstar!! Good to have the latest info and updates as things change so fast! Makes sense re broad - your copy and message should do the work to hone in on the right people - old school style!
    Question 1 - So broad targeting means no interests, only male/female and age and location? And then allow the FB ai to do it's job and find the qualified leads for you?
    Question 2 - The lead magnet we are using is a free book + shipping (and then upsell to an online course and audio book) - do you know if this strategy still works anymore?
    Thanks so much I've been wanting to contact you ever since I saw your videos a few months ago! your content is amazing and very specific!

    One more question: My ads' content targets very specifically, but I'm still attracting the exact opposite type of person I want who then engages with it (the classic troll syndrome). They're often sarcastic or hateful. I'm wondering if you could please address the proper way to handle these engagers. I know that FB can't tell the difference between "positive engagement" and "negative engagement," so what I don't want is for FB to send my ads to more people like those I don't want. I see ad owners engaging with these hecklers and all I can see are long streams of those types of people bombarding their ads. The way I see it, I'm not running a "freedom of speech" post, I'm running a paid ad where I want only customers-and these people are clearly NOT my customers. So I've experimented with a two-step process: Selecting their comment and choosing "ban user," and then deleting the comment once they are banned. Could you please let me know if this is the best way to handle these types of engagements? Thank you, Andrew!

    • @AndrewHubbard1
      @AndrewHubbard1  2 роки тому +2

      That’s basically how I do it too. Except I hide the post instead of deleting. Then ban the user from the page.

      I set super strict comment filters that ban tons of words such as keywords like spam, hate, dislike, doesn't work, stupid, dumb, etc. You can google how to set up comment filtration to ban phrases and words. You can also google lists of words to block on social media and there are hundreds of suggestions. Now I do not have to see negative comments and they are blocked from posting them. No need to see that negativity or have to delete it or block them! Now I only get comments of support and relevant questions/etc.

    • @AlexMillZenLifeCoach
      @AlexMillZenLifeCoach 2 роки тому

      @@lilyrutherford2700 Thank you so much for your suggestion! I'm curious to know which words you have chosen to filter out negative comments from your ads since we appear to target similar audiences. I'm happy to follow your guidance and do my own homework via Google, but I thought I'd ask since you're having such good success. Thanks again!

    Nothing has been effective for me since the iOS update.
    Before the iOS update I averaged 20 sales a week with a modest budget, using "good" ads with basic strategies and they delivered results for 2 months straight. After iOS I'm averaging 2-3 sales a week, with a higher budget, using fantastic ads with advanced strategies and they completely stop delivering after 3 weeks.
    I stopped all of my ads on FB until further notice, they are simply ineffective and I'm tired of seeing my monthly ads charge on my credit card knowing that I didn't even make half of that back in revenue. Until there is new hack or major update, FB ads will remain a complete waste of money.
