Just re spooled my first spincaster I new to fishing and I dig up some old famly rods to mess around with ! Great video I wasn't sure if I could figure it out on my own 😂😂
Thank you! I watched eight videos before I found yours. From 3 min to 40! FF through that one of course. None of the others taught me anything except they where trying to get you tube rich by getting views as pertending to know how to assemble and repair a reel. WOW. Probably got some great fish tales to tell to if you get cornered by them. I will remember your name. Can't believe it is so simple. I may have to throw away the reel i was fighting with. 🤦♀️ i cant get the pin back in. Great video, quick to the point, real info. A appreciate the education thank you for being real and genuine.
couldn’t quite see that 2nd knot you made but can easily look it up this was my 1st time looking up how to do this & I learned it so for the first time ever I only needed 1 video awesome
Thanks for reminding people of disposing trash and excess fishing line properly. I get tired of picking up other people left over trash. I'll tell them , if I catch them too. Environmental, Animal and Human Safety.
@@KastKing yup i agree, got my kastking crixus spinning combo through the kastking amazon store and its great quality also got the free offer for kastking fishing pliers!
I would like to se the oldscool reel seats made in newer materials on your rods, no one is selling that yet on the market and maby look in to the posibility to use braid on a closed reel.
A simple remedy for people throwing their fishing line in the water or on the bank when you re spool or have to remove line is to do it at home if possible that’s why it’s important to learn how to spool your reels
One important step not mentioned, you want the line to come off the spoon in the same direction as the reel rotates, looking at it from the front. Otherwise you will induce a lot of unwanted twist in the line. So either top label of the line spool up or down depending on the reel. Works for spincast or spinning reels.
After going sea fishing, there was rust inside. I want to wash, how do I open it? Not the part where the string is wound, but the top part. There is no way to remove the round and triangular screw
I haven't fished in over 20 years, but want to. I know I need to replace the line on my few reels/rods. Thank you so much for making this video. I never knew how to do this, I relied on my ex-husband for this knowledge. Now that he is history, so is all my fishing know-how. Ha.
Doesn't work, tried that method several times and each time the line coming off the new spool twists up and tangles even if I make sure it is coming off in the same direction. What am I doing wrong?
Lol i had to watch this to literally learn how to take a massive bird's nest out and put fresh 6lb fluro on for the kiddo. Took like 20 minutes to remove the birds nest lol. Now the kiddo can go and catch some river monsters.
And what do you do if you can’t get any tension when trying to start winding the line onto the reel?…I have an almost new Zebco 33 but it won’t start reeling the line in…what’s wrong with this sob?
Ashruka Krusnik, ALL "spincast reels" have "pick-up pins." The only fishing reels that don't have "pick-up pins" are: #1> "spinning (open-face) REELS," and #2> "fly (fishing) REELS." Perhaps you have either one of these instead of the "spinCAST REEL" that Big Al is demonstrating on in his most excellent instructional-video? And as Big Al mentioned in his presentation, "spinning (open-face) reels" are actually a bit easier to spool up because: #1> There is NO "nose-cone" to worry about, and #2> Since there isn't any nose-cone to block the view of the line spooling on the "spinning (open-face) reel," it is MUCH easier to observe just how much line is actually going onto the reel itself. Hope this helps you my friend.
Boy_pych, Big Al is making an "instructional-video" for God's sake - he's SUPPOSED to be speaking slower that normal. Plus, please see my response to "Dayday Savv" below, & take a moment to PONDER the wisdom of it.
So simple i love it
Thank you!
You're like the Bob Ross of fishing pole instruction. Thanks!
Reminds me of Eric Johnson seriously.
Thank you on behalf of all of us who don't have a grandfather like you to take us fishing.
My pleasure!

Helped me alot. It was so simple i felt quite stupid ngl 😂
Glad we could help!
Thank you.
God Bless.
Isn’t there a need for the spool to unwind counter-clockwise as you’re reeling in to avoid twists?
Did you ever mention what direction the line needs to come off of the new line spool? It should match the direction that your reel turns shouldn't it?
Can you maybe make another video of how to make that big loop, it’s kinda confusing😅
We can look into that!
KastKing ok thanks
Hey! This is called an arbor knot. I use it for tying line to all my reels. Just look up arbor knot. See ya!

Awesome video ! I just did the same thing. Different knoting system changed 6 lb test over to 12 lb Thanks in advance. Good information.
Thank you for watching
@@KastKing I always will because I need to learn something new everyday . Thank you for sharing your video 💯
@@anthonyharper8161 We're glad to help, and we will keep doing these
Is there a way to replace a pick up pin?
Man. didn't show witch side to lay down the new spool of line, or dose it matter, how it comes off !
When installing the new line does it come off the spool clockwise or counterclockwise?
what kind of fishing line can be wound on this reel?
can you fill the spool completely?
Thank you!

Braided line?

you help me
Why can't anyone make a video about this where you can actually see what is happening with the line?
you really have to slow down on the slip knot and find a way to film it without your fingers blocking the view. i respooled without the slipknot.
👍
😮
The music is totally distracting, dude. Also, that "slip knot" thing is not at all clear.
Thanks for watching.
Lol no it’s not
So you don't show the slip knot b/c your hands are totally blocking the view.
Thanks for reminding.
Come on. Grandpa, you didn't show how to test your spool and cast it.
My line can't cast off. Man
Thank you for watching
Arrow B you can show respect. He doesn't need to take his time to do these videos for us.
Talk to slow
