@@mvboutdoors I respooled my Zebco 33 Platinum with braid and it is awful. Every time I reel a fish in and then recast, the line catches on itself in the reel and causes a short snap cast. I am going to take the braid off and respool with mono or flouro. HTH
@@marvinmurakami8828Thats not right either ,any one can see by watching the line how it comes off the spool . In every one that I’ve seen it comes off counter clockwise .
It would be hard to know exactly but some reasons could be too much line on the reel, the line not being caught by the pin, or not threaded through the cap is the right direction.
If I wanted to use the line that comes with it, I cut it and send in through holes and tie it correct? And could I use all of the line or is that too much? I have the same pole.
The new line comes up through the bottom of the cap and comes off the spool in the opposite direction as reeling it in to wind it. If you had any specific questions let me know --
You may have too much line or something isn't seated correctly. Try less line and see if it works. You can test the pins with the cap off to see what its doing.
There are some great visual guides online, it's a very easy knot to learn but I can try to explain it through text. Basically you take the end of the line, cross it to make a loop, then reach through the loop and pull the line back through it. You can tighten the knot by pulling the end part of the line.
Why did you hide the string with your fingers when you were supposed to be showing "HOW TO" to tie the string on to the reel? When I try to crank the string on to the reel it just slips, does nothing . I guess I'll keep looking at videos that can show me how to tie a knot that wont slip, damit. Might be easier to go to a restaurant and order a fish. Maybe knot.
Lol this one made me laugh. I didn't intend to hide that, through the comments I see it was a big oversight in my part. If you can look up how to make a slipknot that is what I used. It can slip a little at first but once you get it winding it's solid.
Thanks, I looked up the one for a uni something knot, and tried it along with my own. You could crank all day long, slow, fast. alot of tension or light ,and just slips. @@mvboutdoors
Maaan I hear that a lot, lol. If I had known ya'll needed to know that step I would have definitely spent more time on it. Maybe I'll remake this video soon.
@@mvboutdoors sorry I couldn't pick it up. I had to watch a different video to get the knot. At worst people like me can just look it up. The rest of the video was useful though. Thanks!
It's not recommended because it can wear out the pick up pins over time and may not unravel as easy. I'm sure it could be done but may not perform as well.
@MVB Outdoors that'd and you'd likely need to tape it to the spool and good luck with that, could use a backing but again dont know how well a knot would pass through the reel. Im gonna try some 30lb spider braid same diameter as 10lb mono, I simply wanna use braid because I find spincast reels make mono have really bad memory and makes it hard to detect lightbites with a slip sinker rig which is what my spincast setups are dedicated to.
Thank you for this video, my son’s line got tangled and we had take it apart. This helped us rethread with ease!
That's awesome, glad this video could help!
excellent video, I need to respool my daughter's one and I just made to uncap the reel. Keep it the good job up !!
Simple video, extremely helpful!
Thanks, I'm glad it was helpful
Can I use a 80 pounds test spider wire for the closed face spanmaster ?
That might be a little thick for a Spincaster, typically they work best with lighter line.
Hi! If I use this with spinning rod, placed the reel under, like normal spinning reel, will it work perfectly, aside than I need to reel it backward?
@@HolyDraculaMaggit typically on a spinning rod this reel would sit on top, you really want a spincast rod to pair with it
Thanks very helpful great vid as well
what if you only know how to a clinch knot? Im not sure i could get a new spool secured.
@@kingrobthegreat7446 you could do a standard double knot trim the tail, it's just to get the first loop or two started.
@@mvboutdoors well i guess i can try--ty
Flourocarbon does stretch just as much as monofilament,
Did you ever respool one of these reels with Braid ?
I haven't, I've heard they don't work well with braid so I never tried.

When installing the new line does it come off the spool clockwise or counterclockwise?
Clockwise
It depends on if your looking at the reel from back to front or front to back.
@@marvinmurakami8828Thats not right either ,any one can see by watching the line how it comes off the spool . In every one that I’ve seen it comes off counter clockwise .
@@robertlosasso4222 I thought he meant the spool on the reel, but on a line spool it's wound clockwise and comes off counter-clockwise.
How do do get it to reel I just bought one and keeps getting tangled
I'm not sure why it would be tangling, make sure there is some tension on the line while reeling.
Hello I have a question I did the same process but the back button does not work when I want the fishing line to get bigger why is that?
It would be hard to know exactly but some reasons could be too much line on the reel, the line not being caught by the pin, or not threaded through the cap is the right direction.
Their should be a little plastic wring it needs to be on the metal disk part
Great video
great vid
thanks bro

Yeah you're good to just thread the line and hook up. It comes with an appropriate amount of line.
Would help if you addressed how the new line came off the spool, direction, etc.
The new line comes up through the bottom of the cap and comes off the spool in the opposite direction as reeling it in to wind it. If you had any specific questions let me know --
What is my pins don’t come out all the way anymore

Lost me at the slip knot part . Can’t see what ya doing with ya fingers
It doesn't wanna reel, what should I dom
Maybe sure you put everything back correctly in the right orientation and that you didnt put too much line on the spool.
Has anyone tried the Zebco 33 Platinum? amzn.to/3N5BWY9 I've heard great things but the reviews are mixed.
I fish a lot of tourneys , have two rigged all the time one wacky one ned . I use spinning but prefer spincast to skip under docks ( more accurate )
umm er uhh..how do you make a slip knot sir?

My new zebco 33 won’t reel in and suggestions?
Doesn't work! When spooling in the new line it spins around hopelessly twisting even if you have it coming off the new spool in the right direction.
It sounds like the pin wasn't released when spooling, it has to hook the line to start reeling it in.
Thank you man much love and respect
Tight lines

dude just assumes everyone knows how to do a slip knot.
oops! Cross the line, then reach through the hoop to pull the longer end of the line up through the hoop then tighten!
Can this be spooled with braid?
