Hey Sean, this is great man! I hate being tight, I always end up hurting myself when I don't stretch. Do you know if this will help my posture? I swear I feel like I'm getting a hunch back man!
I think it will help to an extent, but I think the best thing you could do for your posture is just try to be more aware during everyday activities like sitting down or standing up. Also, consider yoga because that has helped me with my posture tremendously
Also consider using a foam roller post training. I found it invaluable combined with stretching. Lots really good roller vids for hips and hamstrings on youtube.
Tbh man, if you have any sort of postural muscle development and you stretch out, specially the posterior chain, you’ll automatically open your posture up more
Thanks Sean , i am a bit late to the party but i am going to do this routine everyday for as long as i can discipline myself and you are way more flexible than me lol .
Sean great material as always mate, thanks for sharing. Noticed how yoga is very related to martial arts, these stretchings are similar or the same as yoga asanas. Keep the good work mate.
Not sure if I’ve already comment but this video is literally changing my life. I’ve watched it more than once and every time I follow along I can move so much better. Before I was struggling going up and down the stairs. Thank you.
I love that shit! I do it before/after most of my training sessions. I actually had a video made when i was in Thailand on foam rolling but misplaced it. I'll have to make another one in the future.
Thanks Sean, just what I've been looking for. I hate stretching but will definitely include this routine post workout. Cheers. Any ideas for strengthening the neck?
Hey there my friend. I just wanted to ask u. This is what I really want to do in my life to learn Muay Thai. U have classes on line are DVD that I can use are go by. My friend
cheers mate, trying to work on my hip / leg flexibility, my kick height is nowhere near where I want it to be, feel like I'm getting stopped by my hip or joint mobility, oddly i can axe kick above my height and teep high as well, but when doing a i guess roundhouse or Thai kick i can only get to around hip height, im going to try and focus on stretches to try and help this, i wonder if any of your other videos might cover this to improve thanks again for all the content
Hey Sean! I've a doubt regarding the pre stretching. What ahould be more intense ? The pre or the post? Is the same type of stretching? How long should it be? Thank you for the video! Stay safe!
Typically i try to stretch 10-15 minutes before and after. I’m a fan of long holds after my training to really stretch my body out after its already looose and warm
@@diogomiguel4881 pre workout stretching should be "dynamic" stretching, and post workout should be "static" stretching. That means pre workout stretching is done with the small movements like in 1:41 of the video you should do like small dips up and down to slowly increase and decrease tension. Pre workout stretching is for the warm up purpose, so you really just want to warm up your muscles and tendons and kinda wake up your nervous system, therefore you dont need it to be done for too long or too "detailed" (dynamic stretching is just one part of warming up, of course do not skip other exercises) . On the other hand "static" stretching is when you want to cool down your body (and gain more flexibility and lots of other benefits) soit is done after the workout. It is done without movement and should be done more devoted than pre workout stretch. That means that you hold one position for AT LEAST 60sec (30 sec is not enough with all due respect) in a full stretch posible (you go to the point were pain begins and hold it there, but do not hurt yourself too much it should be just the first pain). Thats the main difference between pre and post workout stretching. Sorry for my english I maybe didn't use all the right words or grammar, but i hope that the point is clear :). Cheers to Sean and thanks for the knowledge shared.
Hi Sean! I see the video is 5 yrs old now. Have you changed anything in your routine now? How was the Eric Wong hip flexibility program? Did it get you way more flexible after completing it?
Been out of the game (BJJ + Muay Thai) Been at the gym from 180 to 198... Don’t use it you lose it... Back down to 190 after 1 month. This stretching routine is fucking golden... Thank you.

TIP: put it at speed 0,25 to give a lenght to the exercises. Regards,

Hi Sean Merry Christmas
Can I do this before your 15 min bag workout?
Do dynamic stretches pre workout and static stretches post workout you can hurt yourself doing long holding stretches before a workout
(0:13) kept me through the whole video for a like

Prevent injuries...and so we can land head kicks - definitely the latter for me 😂
Thank YOU A LOT. i was barely able to move after my training, until I discovered your video. Thk U
Yes my hips! alwaz sore.THANKS
Hi Sean
Sorry I’m embarrassed but
Is ok to do before training
Just curious
Or can you send me a prior stretch routine before training
Good shit but next time slow down and explain the stretches ! Thanks tho :)
If you made a 'follow along' video you'd get a lot more consistent viewers
Should you do this straight away as you finish training or wait a certain amount of time like 30 mins
0:48 starts
I would have to assume so looks like a post stretch workout

@@StarhillOlymp You shouldn't be doing anything that causes pain. That means something is wrong.
@@gabago0l Im guessing he means the natural discomfort that comes with stretching, if youre not feeling that then are you even really stretching
You said after your sessions so I assume post as well
Your channel is GOLDEN. Thank you
I'm reading lately that for development of flexibility that 60 second holds are recommended. Is this anything you have heard?
What type of music is on movie ?
Thanks Sean!
Good video. I do most of these stretches or variations. Learnt some new ones also. Thank you!
