A coaches at my gym told me the larger the muscle group, the longer you hold the stretch. It takes longer cause of how strong bigger muscle groups are so it needs more time to loosen up. So your hamstrings should be held longer then your tricep.
I'm able to stretch my legs forward for teeps over my head. And can almost do a front split. My problem is when the leg lifts straight up to the side. My hips completely strain and sore. Its the rotation and the point where my leg is lifted up at a sideways motion where the strain and lack of flexibility is. Did I explain that well.? Its like I can teep above my head but can't roundhouse higher than a 90 degree
@@shinsofsteel I completely unlocked my hips since this comment. Put your leg up on something and rotate. Kind of like an active stretch like twist from facing front to rear back and fourth. And don't aggressive stretch every single day. Change up ur stretching routine for hip mobility
@@shinsofsteel little by little find ways to get the leg higher and do the same rotating excessive. After 2 weeks and some rest in between all of the sudden I was able to head kick no joke lol
