I am seeing more and more beauty and skin vloggers whose intent is to stop getting people to buy everything and instead focuses on decluttering, avoiding redundancy, price per ounce, and overall minimalism. Re using makeup we own already, trying new looks, etc. All great things! People need to stop spending half their income on skin care. It’s a real addiction.

22:35 The Neutrogena ultra sheer has Helioplex technology which stabilizes the UV filters so that about 85% of the UVA protection is still there, lasting for about 4-5 hours per application the company claims. The other 60 SPF invisible daily defense one I don’t think has the Helioplex so it probably isn’t as stabilized and does not last as long in the sun is not far as UV protection is concerned. I use the SPF 70 age defense one for UVA protection and use Skin Aqua for around my eyes as it doesn’t sting and is four star boots rated which means it blocks at least 90% of UVA (16+ blocks out about 90% of UVA).

I agree niacinamide stings my skin and I hate that every moisturizer now has it. They need to tone it down and make some moisturizers free of it to cater to those people who are sensitive. Also niacinamide serums are not expensive so people could get it and incorporate it into their routine if they need it for a much cheaper price.

Hi Dr.Dray. Yes I really enjoyed Niacinamide, but 😳 OMGOODNESS DOES IT STING and not just a few seconds; it stings for several minutes. To the point I’ve had to wash my face and apply Aveno oat serum to calm my skin down.
Thank you for your in~depth skincare shopping. Very good to know.

@@HeatherFonseca yes it is!!! I do not like the delivery system, mine does not work; so have to slowly pour out a dab. But it’s saved my face from irritation from niacinamide.

Aluminum deos never did anything but make me sweat buckets and smell bad (even rx strength), plus they often irritated my very tolerant underarm skin and would ruin every single shirt I owned. My sister also had to stop using them because they would cause her underarm lymph nodes to swell and get hard. Been using natural deos for almost 15 years with acid ones being the best. After the first month on natural deos, I started sweating and smelling less. By the time I’d been on them for like a year, I wouldn’t smell until about the 24 hour mark and stopped needing to apply every day.
Aluminum deos were hell for me and plenty of people I know who made the switch. Finding natural deos that worked turned my underarms into something I never need to worry about. I’ve never used native bc they use baking soda, but not sure why you have so much hate for something that has been super impactful for so many people that you don’t appear to have researched or tried.

Same!! It dissolves makeup like nothing else, great as a first cleanse, good price, can be used on the body and you don't need to moisturise after (for lazy days haha). It does have a light fragrance, but I don't mind it since it is a wash of product.

Versed “Gentle Milky Cleanser” with oat, in a pump bottle has been my new favorite cleanser! Especially during these harsh winter months for my extremely dry, sensitive skin. It’s a must try from that line. I wasn’t impressed with the rest of the line though. I had problems using the Aveeno Calm line because of the feverfew, so this milky oat one has been the perfect substitute for it.

I absolutely love the Versed cleansing balm! I’ve tried MANY! It is scented but doesn’t bother me. Not sure how it would do on oily skin though, probably too heavy. I’m 51 with desert dry skin. As a first cleanse, it’s great at breaking down make up without feeling stripped. I’m always interested in trying new ones but end up back to Versed every time.

This is so funny and I have to just admit it because I can’t stop thinking about it. I used to hate your videos. And the more I watch your videos now the more I realize the only reason I hated your videos in the past years was because I was obsessed with my over consuming. I’m still pretty deep into skin care but your videos are really teaching me to par down on what I use and keep things more simple. I’ll still probably use some of my more bougie items but it’s definitely good to get a truly educated opinion on the market at the moment. Thank you!
