Andrea, Nivea goes by "color code". White bottles are very thin, watery, light blue bottles are a little thicker of a lotion, but the dark blue bottle (of body lotion) is much like the blue tin, very very moisturizing & not watery at all, not one bit; very nice body lotion. The blue tin and the dark blue body lotion have been staples in my routine for decades!

Found this tidbit on 'the google': “The first form of face wipes was invented by Arthur Julius in 1957. Julius created the brand Wet-Naps and took his new product to the 1960 National Restaurant Show in Chicago. Just three years later, Julius had his Wet-Naps in every Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant. Although general wet wipes can be used for everything from diaper changes to wiping away sweat, specially formulated wipes were created and marketed as facial wipes. There are two main reasons for this. First, many women wear makeup, which may be tough to remove. Second, the skin on a person’s face is far more sensitive than the skin on the rest of their body, so it requires a gentler formula.”

Another thing about spray sunscreens, Lab Muffin (also not a fan of them) has said that SPF tests are not done on propellant type sunscreens and that in order to get the SPF amount listed on your average size can, you're getting a third of the sunscreen amount and you'd have to use more of the canister product every time as opposed to the standard sunscreen.

Many of the OTC products suggest more excessive use of the product than is necessary or ideal for the health of the skin. Salicylic acid and glycolic acid don’t need to be used daily, if anything that will compromise your skin’s natural barrier and strip the oils that are crucial to skin health. It’s better to use exfoliating products on alternating days. If you’re ever curious about specific recommendations for your skin type be sure to see an esthetician!

Since menopause my skin has been so dry and I have really enjoyed it! I'm wearing it at night since it's a little on the heavier goopy side. I'll be turning 50 this year, and I still experience adult acne. I have been using Cetaphil gentle facial cleanser and moisturizer successfully for years. Briefly, a while back, upon recommendation of dermatology videos on the interwebs, I experimented with CeraVe gentle cleanser, but it didn't seem strong enough to deal with the oily areas of my skin. So, I stuck with Cetaphil. Recently, however, the skin on the forehead, nose, and somewhat on the chin have become rough, texturized, and remain greasy, even after enjoying years of smooth clear skin with Retin A and Adapalene. Now, those acne treatments are making those areas flaky and not controlling the acne and texture as much. Also, I am no longer receiving the softening and smoothing effects all over the skin, but especially on cheeks and eyes, when washing and moisturizing with Cetaphil. After seeing this video, it is likely the new formulation. Any suggestion on what would be gentle yet effective for combination skin, in a cost-effective large size? Thank you. Take care.

I hate coppertone with every inch of my body. Their “Glow” sunblock is chunky glitter that looks like you would use in theater. Then, there’s the coppertone “Kid’s Clear Sparkle” which feels nice on your skin, but it pills up within minutes even if you have clean dry skin with absolutely no products on (reminds me of the Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield). So you absolutely cannot reapply the sunblock or even apply in layers. If you’re looking for a good quality and affordable shimmery sunblock that doesn’t look like cheap chunky glitter, try Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch SPF 50. It’s great for all the skin tones since it won’t leave a white cast of any kind and it’s sweatproof & water resistant.

That Aveeno face cream is ok, but I like the oat gel moisturizer better. It’s a very light texture cream - any lighter and they might have to call it a lotion. If I want the lighter texture for under sunscreen, I prefer the oat gel moisturizer. If I want a cream, I want something much thicker and richer. It’s an ok product, but Aveeno has other moisturizers that I vastly prefer.

Found a Germany made Nivea on Amazon. Read the first few ingredients on the jar Dr Dray picked up and showed from Target and you will see the ingredients difference from the one on Amazon imported directly from Germany. The Target version says Hamburg which we know is in Germany but the ingredients panel doesn't support the panel from the Amazon imported one from Germany. Hmmm....

I was just in Target last night for the first time in several years. I would have stood around and studied all the different stuff, but the Hub was with me... Best to do that when alone! I decided to try the Black Girl sunscreen. I've I've read that it's a good one for the face. Can't wait to give it a try! I usually use a glycolic acid face wash about 3 to4 times a week. Everyday seems to be a bit irritating to my face. I just use shampoo to clean my makeup brushes. They are made from hair, so why not!
UPDATE: I am not loving the Black Girl sunscreen. I find it a bit greasy, so am still on the hunt for something not so greasy.

Love Target videos! :) I only use micellar water to clean my makeup brushes of foundation, concealer and any other products with silicones. It helps break it down so my cleanser works better to wash the bristles more thoroughly. I buy it from TJ Maxx to save money since I'm not using it on my face. I wash my makeup brushes after every single use. It only takes getting a nasty sty once to learn that lesson. :-( I've used Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds as an all purpose cleaner. It's great for washing dishes by hand, as a floor cleaner, and fruit/veggie wash. You can even use it as laundry detergent.

The American one has Water, Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, Glycerin, Microcrystalline Wax, Lanolin Alcohol, Paraffin, Magnesium Sulfate, Decyl Oleate, Octyldodecanol, Aluminum Stearates, Fragrance, Panthenol, Citric Acid, Magnesium Stearate, Sodium Anisate

How strange the american version, without Eucerit. In Brazil, all Nivea cream blue tin have Eucerit, that's why we buy it. We have A LOT of grandmas and mothers who used for a long time and their skin were almost without wrinkles for a long time. I demonized Nívea before, but started acid (AHA and Tretinoin) and Nívea is the only one who calms my skin. Even without sensitivity, I like to pass almost everyday to sleep at night. Also during the day as eye cream.

Yes, I just started using Bioderma micellar water. I've heard you say when you've tried them, they've burned your eyes. I sure wouldn't want that ! The Bioderma one does not burn my eyes at all. I use it as the first step of my 2 step cleanse. I'm not a heavy makeup user....just a little eye liner & brow filler. So, the micellar water works well for me as a first cleanse.
I have washable bamboo round pads that I use to apply the micellar water. I really like them & not using the use-once-throw-away kind.
Mine even came w/a small , zippered mesh bag. I let a pad dry, then put it in the bag.....toss the bag in when I do a light color load.
