Aloha! Yes, I live on an island called Oahu! Today is only my second day of watching your vids. Thank you so much for all the information. I am a 73 old male with Creepy Skin on my forearms. Thank God that I can find the products you use anywhere and not break the bank. Honestly, being a male I would just like less steps and products to take care of my face. Basically, wash my face and body, sleep, wake up wash my face again, put something on my face that will protect my skin for the day, return from work, wash my body and face and then sleep. Which products will fit perfectly in this routine for a man. Isn't skin of a male or female the same? Any how Mahalo's Plenty and Blessings for your encouragement.
I used Retin-A for about two years for acne and sun damage around the eyes. It helped with both and my skin became flawless. I had to stop using the Retin-A because I became allergic to something that was in it so I switched to neutrogena pore minimizer (Salicylic acid). My skin remained flawless and the wrinkles never came back. I don't use either of these products now because I no longer have acne. It's been over 30 years since I used Retin-A and over 20 since I used salicylic acid and I have hardly aged. My skin became so clear and even toned that I stopped wearing foundation over 30 years ago.
If I was exiled to a deserted island, I'd like to bring Dr Dray. She would share her skincare products with me because she wouldn't be able to let me go without sunscreen for a day. And I'd get the much needed entertainment from her dry humor to survive the isolation.

I’m over 50 and can’t live without my RetinA. I’m guessing if you’re not at the age where aging is so visible, it’s not a priority. Used nightly, after 2-4 weeks fine lines diminish, my skin looks incredibly smooth, more firm, and the tone is more even. I can tell it is making a difference because of the compliments. Definitely top 5 for me.
I am 51 and most people think I am late thirties. I even date some late twenty somethings! 😅 Retinals and Tretenoin, as well as hyper moisturizing is a holy grail. I also think my severe acne when I was younger probably now allows the oils I need to not age me. My skin looks much better now than in my twenties. Not sure what will happen when I hit menopause, but trying to get ahead of it now.

I can use the PM light one though. also if I use the cera ve moisturizer in the morning without the neutrogena my face burns.
@@kaym.8965 Okay, first check to make sure you got the fragrance free Neutrogena Gel. The one labeled for Extra Dry Skin has no fragrance. Second, I would try cycling out some of the CeraVe products. CeraVe can sometimes irritate my skin too in the morning but it sounds like you are having a more severe reaction.
Karasal foot cream is amazing. My extremely cracked heals are so soft now. After a week of using it, I honestly feel like I got a pedicure. Thank you so much for this recommendation.
I love that Dr. Gray considers budget conscious people and scenarios in case we couldn’t afford going above and beyond the basic skin care routine. Much appreciated Dr. Gray; we all cannot afford what celebrities or other influencers recommend, which can be pricey & outside of our pay range 😬
Dr.Dray- Your subtle( or not so subtle) sarcasm is hysterical! Extremely valuable advice with focus on the middle class 40+ hour working people with very modest incomes
This video has done a few things for me: first, it has made me realize I’m a bit high-maintenance. Second, it has me doubting & thus re-thinking my entire skincare regimen! Finally, it has reaffirmed my love of & enjoyment from Dr. Dray & her videos❣️❣️❣️
I have the same issue when I wear a mask. The skin under my nostrils gets so raw sometimes. I will definitely be trying the healing ointment. I can’t believe I haven’t thought of that before.
Yourself and Dr Vanita Rattan have helped my skin improve so much with your recommendations and advise. You both think about people’s budgets, different skin colour needs and skin conditions. Thank you 🙏🏽
This is one on my most favorite videos from Dr. Dray. I’m keeping my skin care routine basic and simple as she recommends and it has gone really well. Thanks for all your useful recommendations 😊
That CeraVe ointment has helped protect my lips while outdoors in the mornings shoveling snow/ice/slush - it’s great cardio but the dry winter weather here is havoc on the lips underneath a mask ❄️
I’m so happy you clarified on stopping tretinoin and what the results would be! I’ve been using it for 4 months but might want to have another baby soon and am dreading stopping it
Love the colorscience but that one somehow makes my pores look larger (then they already are which is rude) - maybe just me. My momma loves it though! CeraVe’s tinted sunscreen is my absolute favorite.
Would love a top 5 popular skincare that you would never buy or even use if you were given them for free. Like products that even though they are popular you will never use them. 😃😃😃
Better yet - how about NEVER USE even if PAID big bucks to use them. That would have to be skincare with fragrance or Linalool added...or a home remedy to firm the skin, ala micro needling🤯
How do u use tretinoin ? My doc recommended me 0.025 since i have lots of black n white heads . She asked me to use it daily . It gave me such a gaint pimples . Also marks . I stopped using it . But i want to get rid of black heads . Can u plz tell hpw tp use it correctly so that it won't react again. I m too scared to use it
I’m a new subscriber and have been on the hunt for cosmetically elegant, mineral SPF and I have tried a *gazillion*, to finally find this one (Colorscience Sunforgettable) this week. I absolutely LOVE it!!!!! It’s SO perfect in SO many ways!!!
Neutrogena clear skin spf 50, cerave healing ointment, son & park beauty water, belif cleanser and a moisturizer (don’t have a holy grail but I love milk vegan cream and any gel creams for daytime)
I generally like this content but I was quite surprised by this list! I have an esthetics degree and know skincare. 1. I don't believe in sunscreen except in severe situations because it is had strong chemical components that may react negatively over time on the face. A big hat, sunglasses and clothing cover up works. 2. A cleanser as a top 5 product ? Most cleansers work well because they are removing from the skin not adding to it. 3. A lip smoother does not seem it should be on a top skincare list but on a lipcare list.. 4. Callous creme the same although it's an interesting recommendation.5. She recommended a creme with a pump dispenser. It's the only one I might agree with it.
Hi did you find the altruist face fluid sticky/ tacky when applied to skin? The bottle I bought was but everyone else seems to rave about it. Wondering if I got a dodgy bottle .

I’ve been using cerave’s hydrating face wash and I’m almost out of it. It was so good and even tho I have oily skin it feels really nice because I tend to have dehydrated skin 😀 and it actually helped to stop my skin producing so much oil
With the hydrating one, it felt like it just moving debris around my face. Did you not have that issue? If not, how exactly do you use the cleanser? Thanks
@@Sam_A_Sam not really, my skin felt clean. First wet your face then apply the cleanser and massage it for like 60 seconds, then wash it off well with abundant water. 😊

Thanks for all your useful recommendations 😊
hey, just want to say this is the best you have ever looked. happy for your glow up.
Just discovered that crave! Omg! Best ever
Cerave
@@maryannbarrett6696 isn’t it though?! I love it!!
I get the best advice from you. I don’t need to watch any other UA-cam channels to get my needed information. Thank you for helping all of us
This deserted island analogy is so cute. Thank you for the lovely video!
you should make a top 5 holy grail haircare products!
Would love a top 5 popular skincare that you would never buy or even use if you were given them for free. Like products that even though they are popular you will never use them. 😃😃😃
She's done a few vids on this subject, maybe not exact same title.
She has a video on products she doesn't use
@@marynjesh it’s just ones she does not use. The idea behind it is products that are popular and she still will not use them, that’s the idea.
@@Wealthofhealth_CD 10 worst skincare trends she talks about hyped up products she hates
Better yet - how about NEVER USE even if PAID big bucks to use them. That would have to be skincare with fragrance or Linalool added...or a home remedy to firm the skin, ala micro needling🤯
my 5 skincare essentials would be: cleanser, moisturizer, vit C, tretinoin, and sunscreen 😎
Which tretinoin😍
@@anisatasnim6662 any brand would be fine, I prefer the strength of 0.05%
How do u use tretinoin ? My doc recommended me 0.025 since i have lots of black n white heads . She asked me to use it daily . It gave me such a gaint pimples . Also marks . I stopped using it . But i want to get rid of black heads . Can u plz tell hpw tp use it correctly so that it won't react again. I m too scared to use it
PAULAS CHOICE Spf in blue container OMG the best everrrr❤❤💯❤💯💯💯
You’re skin has improved so much Dr. omg it looks flawless
"If I'm on a deserted island somewhere, chances are I will be getting a lot of sunscreen exposure" This is the most Dr Dray statement lol
*sun exposure
How doors your tummy handle so much coffee?
The mindset of a survivor.
This is a HOLY GRAIL video!! What a blessing!
Love how you are taking this whole deserted island thing so seriously. Seems you’ve given it a lot of thought. You are a hoot!!!
My must-have items:
1. Cera Ve moisturizing cream
2. SPF 70
3. Niacinamide
4. The Ordinary Retinol 1% in squalane oil
5. Cera Ve Renewing SA cleanser
I’m a new subscriber and have been on the hunt for cosmetically elegant, mineral SPF and I have tried a *gazillion*, to finally find this one (Colorscience Sunforgettable) this week. I absolutely LOVE it!!!!! It’s SO perfect in SO many ways!!!
i love colorescience
Thank you for introducing me to Cerave. I love their products and it makes a difference to my skin
I really love the message of this vid, at the end of the day simplicity is really the key when it comes to skin care.
Neutrogena clear skin spf 50, cerave healing ointment, son & park beauty water, belif cleanser and a moisturizer (don’t have a holy grail but I love milk vegan cream and any gel creams for daytime)
dr dray universe brain cant help but love her
I generally like this content but I was quite surprised by this list!
Lol
I would take these:
1. Altruist Face Fluid
2. Altruist Body Sunscreen (spf 50)
3. Tretinoin
4. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
5. Any oil cleanser
thanks for sharing your top 5!
@@DrDrayzday I get the big pump-bottle size of Altruist sent to California - great formulation.
Hi did you find the altruist face fluid sticky/ tacky when applied to skin? The bottle I bought was but everyone else seems to rave about it. Wondering if I got a dodgy bottle .
My top five are sunscreen, balm cleanser, liquid cleanser, moisturiser, retin a
Dr, Dray - I'm 54 years old, for a desert island I would have to take my Tretinoin and SPF 50. For me it's too late to use only moisturizing cream :))
Definitely. How long have you been using tretinoin?
@@chateau7 For 4 months.
I’ve used retin a for 20 plus years! Never giving that up!
@@maryannbarrett6696I just started, maybe a little late. Tretinoin is not available in my country. Even by prescription. I had to work hard to finally buy, thank you for motivation :)
@@dangaw6392 I'm 50 (almost 51) and only started using Tretinoin 2.5 months ago. Never too late.
YES FOR VANICREAM! Helped me heal my eczema
love it 💗💗
I’ve been lax about the urea for my feet, my derm recently gave me a stern look so I’ve been more compliant. Such a difference!
The look on your face @ “then you must be new here!” 😂🤣😭 omg I CACKLED ily @drdray
I laughed at that one!
I love colorscience...just starting using this one. My dad is a dermatologist and I have put sunscreen on my face everyday, winter through summer, for the last 25 years. So important!
Dr. Dray you have helped my skin to improve so much....Happy Friday
I would love a video on retinol alternatives! I'm in my early 30s and planned to start retinol for surface improvement and overall aging prevention, but I have a neurological condition (IIH) that prevents me from using vitamin A products. Are there non-vitamin-A-derived alternatives that I can incorporate for similar long-term benefits?
My favorite video 😂 love how real she is and isn’t trying to just pawn off expensive products!
I cannot live without my La Roche Posay SPF50 uva uvb sunscreen.
I have recommended your channel to so many people who post questions about skin related issues. & I am not a you- tube channel type of referral gal!! Love your content. & the whole island thing- great analogy & very entertaining!
The title of this video should have been: *HOW DR. DRAY WOULD SURVIVE IN THE WILD WITH SKINCARE* 😂
Documentary style. hell yeah.
🤣🤣🤣😍🤣
LOL🤣
