Awesome job. it looks nice but not so complicated! I want to build something similar in my media room. I imagine you nailed the platform to your floor somehow. It wasn't obvious in the video . Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the comment! Actually the platform is not attached to the floor, but it’s heavy enough that it’s not going anywhere. We just hd the whole room recarpeted, so we moved the platform outside, installed the carpet on the normal floor, then brought the platform back in and recarpeted that. It’s been so, so nice for watching movies! We use that setup most weekends now!
really helpful, thank you for a great video! could you kindly share the dimensions of: 1. your room 2. the size of your screen 3. how close is the front couch to the screen?
Hi @Ben Dupre - my room is 17’W x 25’L. The screen is 115” diagonal. Sitting in the front row, your head is 11’ from the screen. It’s great for movies, but a little close for video games (for me anyway). Thanks for watching!
Hi Adrianne Meldrum - it was pretty quick, probably just a day or two’s work including the materials run. A framing nailer speeds it up quite a bit. Thanks for watching!
Omg this is exactly what I want in our living room thank you for this.

You stinker! I didn’t even post it 9 minutes ago, so I know you didn’t even watch it!
Thanks very helpful
Glad it helped
Is this 2x10 ?? Wood
Hello! I used 2x8’s. You could use 2x10’s if you need the height though.
Is an 86in TV Big Enough for a home theater
Yeag
Agreed, I think that’s sufficient as long as your seating isn’t too far away. I’ve certainly seen theaters with smaller screens than that!
How long did this project take from start to finish?
Hi Adrianne Meldrum - it was pretty quick, probably just a day or two’s work including the materials run. A framing nailer speeds it up quite a bit. Thanks for watching!
ill pay you to make me one and ship it to me
Hello! The freight would certainly cost more than the materials, unless you were my neighbor ;)
