I was born and brought up on the KZN SOUTH COAST but spent most of my early life at my aunts house in Durban. We visited the original Indian market regularly for our fresh produce and other daily nessesities and not forgetting the cinemas on Victoria street. Alway finishing the day with a bunny chow at Victory Lounge. Living now in Cape Town since 2000, the video brings back memories. Thank you.
Beautiful memories of days gone by. This used to be our weekly trip to central Durban and a must visit to this market. Thank you for bringing back those memories memories shared with my late husband.
🙏Thanks for sharing we from joburg.. But whenever we in durbs we always visited markets with our parents.. Those were the memories we still remember Hansa Vijay Sukha and Nathoo families daxina lenasia South 🌹❤️👌🤗
I remember visiting the old "Indian Market" in early 70's on my visit from Cape Town... Big giant heaps of spices, looms indelibly on my mind... Thanks for revitalising old memories...
Such beautiful memories. Its been ages since I visited the market. My young adult sons have not visited the market as yet, we always was concerned about the safety there, but good to know about the covered parking. You have captured this so beautifully. Thank you.
Pam's Kitchen offers you an amazing experience with a selection of Heritage Foods and they know the history of Durban which is been eroded or neglected. The food is interesting and of exceptional quality and clean. When it is not too busy having them sit with you in conversation about the history of Durban is very educational. I believe that they run a similar set up at the Chatsworth Flea Market as well. Getting to the inside is a nightmare though!
Been many years since I last visited the market... I did on a regular basis 3yrs back, but now we have malls to make shopping easier and trendy. Nice video👍
Memories back those are the days weekly shopping always love coming to Durban for visiting it was so good and sad moments of those passed on from WHOM we learned alot about Durban ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Well great memories, wish I could turn back the hands of time. Visited frequently when I was growing up with my mom. Haven't been to this place in a very long time. Hoping to visit soon.

I last visited this market before it got ravaged by fire. My late brother in law who was a bus driver, he used bring me here for a meal. I am talking about when I was living with my sister in Bank road. I was just 8 yrs old then. Then, later around 1960 my friends I used to go and have our meals here. Old memories never die.
Great Vlog nd thanks for showing my favourite Spice shop 😊That lady nd her staff always makes me feel special like family I'm from Cape town but having been a comrades runner I would feel like my visit to Durban was a waste of time if I didn't visit the Victoria Street market

Shew but you're either a brave star or too non compos mentis to go to Warwick avenue market .... No sane person ever goes there anymore 😮 Most parts of Durban central have now become Nigerian / Zimbabwean terrority with an increase in robberies and muggings .... even the Workshop and the Wheel are no go zones these days
Don't be so scared man, visit. I don't live in KZN since 2000. But whenever I visit. People keep telling me don't visit certain places but I still do. I haven't visited this market but will do next time.
I've lived there before, take the fear out of your head. In actual fact, a safe place or an unsafe place doesn't exist. You create safety wherever you are by making the right decisions and you create danger by making foolish decisions. Everything begins with you. That's why we need to repent from wrong decision making, and use the wisdom of God to make the right decisions.
I was in Victoria market a couple of weeks ago and I was more scared of the crazy traffic, 😂😂saying that I was not alone , I was with a few local people
