My issue with RJ’s point IRT the C1VX, if they increase the annual fee to $450, it would still be a great card (even without Uber One). Because right now it has OUTSIZED value. Sometimes people look at a card with outsized value and if it changes to only GOOD value, they think it’s no longer a great card. You have to look at it from a regular person perspective not an influencer. IMHO
I just visited the Sapphire lounge in LGA over the last two days. They were checking if you had the reserve at the entrance the first time I went when it was really crowded but I still found a seat. Second time less busy they weren’t checking at the entrance so assuming they were allowing PP the second time. Turkish lounge in Miami does the same thing
@ Tbe question was as somebody who holds the card would I want to see the annual fee go up to add Uber one. No I wouldn’t and I would not think it would be as good of a card in that case. It has nothing to do with being an influencer or not. - RJ
Priority pass already is a separate lounge network that ALSO partners with airlines and credit cards. Without that, their business would not last. More people have access through cards vs a PP membership. The issue with all lounges is allowing to pay to enter. But remember they are a business trying to make money!!
Not to mention, older lounges are still based on older travel models. There’s more flying and more credits allowing access so longes need to be bigger as some of the newer ones are.
Thanks for the info + podcast!!!
Thanks as always Jimmy!
