Hi guys, John here with Realtruck.com. Today I'm going to show you how to install the Spec-D Projector headlights on this 1999 F250.
All right, we've got our lights out of the box. You can see here they come with everything that we need to get them installed. Of course your right and left side lights and also your connectors to plug them in. Let's get these into the truck. All right, so we've got our lights setup ready to go on the truck, but first we've got to get the old ones out and what we want to do then is take the, there's some slider clips right in the back here. If you look in here you'll be able to see them. You just need to pull them straight up and out and that'll release the top part of the light. Then there's two screws down here on the bottom, we need to take those out.
Now once we have our turn signal and parking light section out, just unhook the bulbs from the back here. Then we just set this off to the side. And then we take our headlight and just remove our bulb from our headlight. Actually if it just comes unclipped, that's fine because we're not going to reuse that bulb anyway. All right so what we're going to do then is the wires for our LEDs and for our Halos, we're going to hook them together and we're going to hook those black to black and the white to the white. I have an 06 GMC and I got some of these halo lights and this video is better than spec-ds
To install these headlights was there any trimming done?
So these aftermarket lights come with bulbs?
All these installs never show what to do with the two adapter type cables they give you, does anyone know what they are for? You showed them in the video but never used them?
MonkeySharkFilms apologies. They were not needed on this truck. They are to plug the new light into the factory OE harness. The blue end attaches to the OE harness and the other to the new light plug. they should make headlights like that for a 2000 GMC jimmy I would buy it right away
I would change those splice connectors to the type that have a female blade connector. Then put a male blade connector on the new wires. Removing the headlight assembly would be simple unplug, instead of trying to open a connector, or cutting wires.
Mine has 2 black 2 whites then another black and a thicker guage white wire with a black stripe through it. What is that used for?
I am having this same issue. I’m thinking it’s for a resistor kit? Really struggling with this part of the install.
These where on my truck when I bought it and now I have a low beam on the driver side that quit working how do I go about changing the bulb? Or would it be something else? High beam still works
Hey Geoffrey, the rubber boots on the back side of the housing is what covers the bulbs. You will need to remove the rubber boot to replace the bulb. Depending on how much room you have to work with in the engine compartment, this may require removing the lamp from the truck. Hope that helps!
I'm having a horrible time adjusting these. Any ideas I'm not sure what to adjust
Spec-D would be the best option for any adjustments. I know with projectors you are not able to adjust just the normal setting but you have to adjust the inside as well. They should be able to walk you through everything, though. Their number is 909-839-2533.
do the head lights come with those blue clips?

According to the instructions these do show to come with the blue wire connectors.
Can you run regular halogen bulbs in them?

Do you sell the LEDs for the LED strip? My spec- D DRL DRL went out. They seem to be T10s but I plugged some in and didn't work. I don't know if it's because of the wattage or the resistor not letting enough power to get to new T10s
Unfortunately, we do not have the LED's that go into the strip. You would really need to contact the manufacturer to ensure you get the proper set up.

Mine either, you ever figure out why?
Make sure you splice them into the brown middle wire on your light connector. White is for the turn signal and black is your ground.
@@kasken719 ok I'm confused because the instructions say connect white to white and splice it to the power on headlight wire, so I have to go back then.... thanks
@@demetrilee5246 Yeah man. I did the same thing. I ended up using a multimeter to find out which is which. I didn't want the leds flashing with my blinker. Also check your ground. I ended up having to ground the hole system because it's an old truck.

Esdras Martinez i purchased these and adjusting them is a pain, they were facinh the sky when i first put them in... i had to pull them out multiple times to get them close.
