  • Installed on 2001 LB7 Duramax | GMC Sierra 3500 Crew Cab Long Bed Dually: How to install Spyder Halo Projector Headlights in your old GMC or Chevy vehicle. It is time for the ole Duramax to get rid of the foggy, oxidized, antiquated headlight assembly and slap in a new shiny set of projector lights complete with HALOS. If you have an old vehicle like I do then you probably do not have the wire connections for halo lights. In this video I show you how to wire halo lights into existing running light wires.

    Howdy friend, I have a 2004 gmc sierra. Just got these lights and will be trying this method this weekend. Fingers crossed no hiccups.

      Best of luck muh man! I still use these lights everyday and love them. No leaks or burned out LEDs yet. You got this! 🍻

      Its in there Steve! Its a short clip due to excess of sunlight in the summer time where I live. Its been getting a little darker so I recorded the final clip for the LED bulb video that will be coming out in a few weeks when I get back from my overland trip. Stay tuned!

    how are these holding up now 3 years later Im so worried about changing lights, it seems like there are so many bad reviews about all of them

      I hear ya, it is difficult to tell which is quality and which ones will fog up or stop working all together. In part that's why I make these videos :) 3 years later and these lights are still functioning like new! No leaks, not all scratched up, all the LED and halos still work! I'd recommend getting a set.

    So im getting this exact pair of headlights for my truck, are the Halos a running light that's always on by default? and does it need new wiring since its an led?

    • @KooshdaakaaGarage
      @KooshdaakaaGarage  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for the questions! The halos can be wired into anything you want to connect them too (running lights, blinkers). I spliced them into my running lights though.

  • @zachbrown7543
    @zachbrown7543 3 роки тому

    Do you need all those connectors or can you just tape them together?

    • @KooshdaakaaGarage
      @KooshdaakaaGarage  3 роки тому

      Hey Zach, thank you for the question. You can bunch all the positives together and connect them to a single power source so that your halos and side led lights come on at the same time. If you are feeling fancy you can wire the side led or the halos to your blinkers. I just wired them all to my running lights so that the side led and halos come on both when I'm using parking lights as well as when the headlights are on.

    I did the same thing as the video, and the drivers side works perfectly. I went to the passenger side and repeated the same exact process and now it uses the right sides halos and 3 small LED’s as the blinkers. What did I do wrong?

    • @KooshdaakaaGarage
      @KooshdaakaaGarage  3 роки тому +1

      That's really strange man. 🤔 it sounds like you may have tied the side led lights into the blinkers. Or did you tie all the wires from the lights into the running light wire and you are still getting a blinker effect? Where did you put your ground?

    • @zachbrown7543
      @zachbrown7543 3 роки тому +1

      @@KooshdaakaaGarage I wired my ground into the ground wire (black) from the light. I wired all the red and white wires to the brown wire and get the blinker effect. Thanks for the quick response by the way

      @@zachbrown7543 Absolutely man. Ok, two theories about what is going on: 1) the brown wire on the passengers side may have come from the factory wired in the blinkers place instead of the running lights place. If that is so, you may want to try using a different wire. Downside is, you will be cutting up more of your pigtail and that's no fun. 2) this one is sort of a long shot, but the ground might not be enough to prevent a sort of power surge when the blinkers are on. You can test this by grounding to the truck or running a ground up to the battery to see what happens. If I had to take a guess, I would say option one is probably the case. That's frustrating man, sorry you have to go through this.

    Just wondering if using a scotch lock wouldn’t be better than using a butt connector

    • @KooshdaakaaGarage
      @KooshdaakaaGarage  Рік тому

      That would probably work fine. I just used one the other day to make a solid ground for the low beams so that the low and high beams will come on when I turn the high beam on.
