i fucking love this guy i took year of german and understand exactly what he is saying and its just ridiculous. absolutely love it. keep doing what you do, because this is how german should be taught. thumb up.
This is only the second video of yours, that I have watched and my two year old daughter has already learned the words bitte and Danke! You are doing a wonderful thing. Thanks, it is fun.
These mini-lessons are very useful! We don't usually learn real life situation vocabulary when learning!
Thank you! I kept trying to order with what the language apps tell you to say and people kept looking at me funny. Your version is easier and sound like what the people say here. I am going right now to order some food.
danke that helped i actually learned new words
Gerne! I'm glad to hear that :)
That hairstyle reminds me of someone I don't want to remember.
rva1945 , DanisnotonFire ;P
You are the One mate.
Great video! As an American, it took me a while to get used to the way in most German restaurants, you seat yourself. (At least that is the custom in Heidelberg) When I went to a very nice restaurant where they seat you, I didn't know what to say. You have greatly improved my restaurant German! Vielen Dank!
As always, you managed to make a video about ordering food and drink at a restaurant and turn it into something educational and highly amusing! 😊😆
Your voice is so soft and soothing in this video. I find myself relaxing, and then I'm surprised by the shouts of "KARTOFFELBREI!" :D
I love you videos!! I grow up in Germany and I have such a love for the culture!! I am glad I found your videos you are very funny!!
I love your teaching videos! I am learning German through Rosetta Stone. I like to use your videos for a bonus. I like how u teach things that are practical. I may never use, "Der Mann ist." if i ever make it to Germany. lol Thanks for the great videos! keep them coming
Sooo talented and entertaining. Du bist der hammer!!
Danke gut!
seeing the whole scentance while reading along to this weeks lesson was a real help for sure :) absolutely enjoy your videos,....and potatoes ^-^

1:50 Kartoffelbrei! XD
i love your video very much. But could you add more explanation in your video? Also, it is helpful to keep the text on for a long time.
KARTOFFELBREI!!! :D
very helpful.
I am using one of the more popular German audio learning products and they us "mochte". They also use "Sie" instead of "Du". The product is slanted to be more polite. So, I also think it is like Chris states in his post. "Mochte" is more polite. Mochten Sie ein Bier...Ja.
Thank you.
Very useful lesson!!
It might be usefull to say that u have to ask for the bill in germany, the waiter or waitress will not bring it to u without asking for it
Dude thanks! Im hanging out in Berlin for the next month and want to order for myself
Silent "en" in german is somehow like dropping the t's in english (eg "Go' held up" instead of "Got held up"). I guess you can compare that.
Kartoffel Eis? as in... potato ice cream? ooh kay...?
Haha. I love your videos. And you are funny. 😁
I love your shirt!
If you want rocky road ice cream, is it Steinigestrasseeis?
this was a hoot!
I love your accent!
I like how the German national anthem is playing at the end of the video.
KARTOFFELBREI! ~ xD
Danke schön!!
I love schnapps!!! and I'm American.
oh god i'm dying, this is hilarious!
Hello! It's great to have a new clip.~^^~
BTW, About the dessert...... what is "schnaps"(I don't know if I have correct word)?
Koennen Sie bitte mir antworten? Vielen Dank!

Im learning German through my mother and Deutsche Welle :D
what kind of German music do you like?
I like alot of German music (silbermond, Bushido, Raimsien (cant spell it) among others) but my favorite german group is Tokio Hotel.
I'm a great fan of your videos here in the UK :) - please could you explain the meaning of the word "noch"? x
You are awsome
Reminds me of Speghettieis! YUM!!!
Warum sind die Kommentare so sonderbar?
Why are the comments so weird?
Have I got it right, maybe? ~ Zoidberg.
What happens if i DONT WANT number 7 off the menu :(
Bist genial!
I am hoping you might be able to clear some confusion. What is old German? My grandmother is from East Germany and her birth certificate is written in 'old german'. Is it still used in Germany?
Vielen Dank.
+Anwyll Music Der Konjunktiv wirkt freundlicher
I thank my German teacher who taught us this in class one day.
Would it matter if I would use möchte instead of hätte?
TempestHomicidal not really, but "hätte" is more common and "möchte" to me kind of implies that you demand something. So to make things short: you can use it, but the other way is slightly nicer
could you also say Kann Ich habe.....?
KARTOFFELBREI
I love your videos dude and ich leibe Deutschland.
Was leibe du ?
what are the meaning differences between danke, danke schön, and vielen dank? i know they all mean thank you, but what are the literal english translations to all of them? and when to use each one?
it comes out to something like danke = thank you, danke schoen (or I've also heard danke sehr) = thank you very much, and vielen dank = many thanks. They are basically interchangeable.
What is the difference between "Ich hatte gerne..." and "Ich mochte...." .
Meaningwise, very little. But you'd use the former mostly in transactions in restaurants and shops, and the latter when you're describing non-commercial transactions (I'd like to sleep now). Though if you use the latter in a restaurant, you'll be understood, of course.
Ric Euteneuer
Thank you very much! Vielen Dank! :)
Your hair xD I'm sorry :z thanks for the videos (:
Hi..Could you explain the difference b/w hätte gerne & mochte? is hätte a form of haben?? Danke
It's the same.
But in my opinion "hätte gerne" sounds nicer than "möchte"
No Schnaps for you !
:)
Könnten Sie uns bitte die Karte bringen? Perhaps there is mistake. Will it be right Können Sie uns...... Help me please!
Könnten sie.. is right..but können sie.. is also ok, but its more of a question to the waiter if he able to do it.
could you bring the menu/can you bring the menu...another polite way would be Würden sie uns bitte die karte bringen/would you bring us the menu please?
Hope that helps =)
Is that good German?
Yep it is. :) But its "hätte" instead of "hatte"
Jemalacane0 Yes t is very good.Eeveryone in Germany will understand what you say. But the simple mistake of using "hatte" instead of "hätte" change the whole meaning of the sentence.
With "hatte" it means that you had often vanilla ice cream and you liked it. You would say this in the case that you lived once in Germany had often vanilla ice cream there and now back home you don´t have often vanilla ice cream.
(But everyone will know what you realy mean. Only if you can perfectly speak German and don´t have any accent someone will ask why you speak about the past.)
Was ist das "Kassler"?
Why do you say "Ich hätte gerne..." instead of "Ich Möchte ein..." ?
What is Schnapz?
+Cáca Milis sa Seomra Spraoi Vielen Dank!
To order item number 7 from the menu can we also say
Yes of course you can say that.
What is the music being played at the end?
i take it you like mashed potatoes lol
